On arrival the hotel was clean and nice and warm. The staff were amazing, so polite and helpful. Our room was upgraded to a Junior Suite and wow it was beautiful. View was amazing overlooking the golf course. The room temperature was perfect. Perfect water pressure in shower with plenty hot water. Bed was so spacious and very comfortable. Tea/Coffee facilities offered a great choice. On the occasion of our Ruby Wedding the hotel left a beautiful worded greeting card together with a tray of chocolate selection. Very personalised and very kind. The restaurant lay out was perfect. Tables have view and lovely and bright within the dining area. Great choice of breakfast to suit everyone and so very clean and organised. Staff were helpful and extremely efficient. The leisure facilities were so very clean and very well laid out. Easy access from hotel rooms and plenty clean towels. Steam room,Sauna and Jacuzzi were all used and enjoyed very much. We have made Special Memories and will most certainly return. Thank you so very much.

One of the Televisions in our room had intermittent reception however, this only appeared to be in a morning. Evening was fine.

Stunning location right on the sea. Spa facilities were lovely, and the view onto the golf course at sun set from the pool lounger were just gorgeous. Staff were fantastic and very welcoming. Very clean throughout.

Menu in hotel restaurant was a bit disappointing they had a few dishes but it was mainly Pizza and Burgers, that said from what we saw of staff bringing food out to diners these things did look and smell nice if that’s what you like to eat. A few nice places to eat in area so we didn’t go hungry and it certainly wouldn’t put us off visiting again .

We booked a superior golf view room which overlooked the course and leader board during the Dunhill cup so excellent view! Spacious bright room, comfortable large bed and very quiet so slept peacefully. Good sized walk in shower. All staff were excellent and plentiful. Enjoyed lunch and evening drinks in the bar and restaurant. Excellent cooked breakfast and served quickly by very attentive staff. Good selection of choices on both lunch and breakfast menus we sampled.

TV in our room had no signal so we had to move rooms after unpacking and showering. (Expected these basics to be checked before booking people into rooms). Struggled to get hot water out of coffee machine- would prefer a kettle for non coffee drinkers but they don't have any. However both were attended to and resolved by two very helpful staff members immediately.

Room was exactly what was wanted - clean, tidy and well appointed. Had a few drinks with friends in the bar, again everything possibly of a higher standard than the price of the room would suggest, would happily have paid, and have paid 20-30% more for the standard of the accommodation and facilities - well done to all!

Nespresso machine, but perhaps this was just a flaff because I am not used to it. Once a wee bit of trial and error all was good. Small issue but a kettle and sachets has always worked for me in the past. One thing though was the original booking from the web. It didn't seem to matter if you went on the official website but you then get redirected elsewhere and the prices all seemed different. Given the nature of the ownership and benefit to the town, I would have loved to call the hotel directly and got a quoted price that drops relative to the same reductions on these comparison websites, especially since they are then on commission. Take the middle step out and save both the consumer and gain more in profit by allowing a call direct to Reception!

I and my party of four cannot rate this place high enough, we will have a second visit soon. From arrival to departure all staff were so accommodating with a professional and friendly approach. I had my elderly mother with me 90yrs who due to injury uses a walking frame. From reception, to bar, dining room, spa personal all greeted her with utmost care and respect which boosted her wellbeing. Breakfast and evening meal menu gave a varied choice and food was brought promptly, backed up with politely checking if we were happy with our meals, and if there was anything further we needed. Our rooms beautifully clean and the views of golf course and watching the players was just the icing on the cake. We could not find fault in any way.

Excellent hotel with good facilities. Well located near to the town centre, beach and station. Also easy access to Dundee, St Andrews, etc. The staff are all friendly, if a little inexperienced. Restaurant evening meal was good both food and value was good.

The hotel is going through a needed a much needed refurbishment. As an example, the room was dated, lacked aircon, but faces south so was very hot and stuffy during my visit. The cleaning of the room was adequate, but surfaces were still dusty. Doors to the service/storage rooms were left open all day and looked untidy and messy. Lacking that 10% attention to detail.

Beautiful hotel, was much more modern than I thought it would be. Spa and gym area lovely. Very clean. Breakfast was superb, well worth adding to your stay.. it's full of golfers but that's to be expected located on a golf course. The weather was beautiful and the view on the terrace was great. The only downside (Brexit) was the lack of experienced staff. Young Scottish staff are slow and nervous and bar service was slow. They just need good quality training and this hotel could be exceptional.

check in was quick and efficient as was check out. There was quite a lot of building work going on but it was not too inconvenient, The bathroom and bedroom were both clean. Using the hairdryer was difficult as the only socket that was near a mirror was situated underneath table which held the coffee machine . I had to crawl under the table to remove the coffee machine plug and use that socket for the hairdryer and repeat the process to to plug in the coffee machine again. Not easy for a lady in her seventies!! apart from that we had a nice stay.

Apart from the mirror and socket issue everything was fine.

I booked a superior room expecting a bath as well as a shower . Even if the shower was in the bath that would have be fine . To be told bath & shower only in standard room or suite 😳 The superior room just looked like a standard room to me without a bath . 🤷🏼‍♀️should have saved my money & just booked standard room . Was told I should have asked about a bath when booking 😳.

Didn’t like the tea & toast machines . food was cold by the time I queued for them . only realised I could order a pot of tea 1/2 through our stay .

I had a lovely room with great view of the golf course. The breakfast is good value with friendly staff and the part refurbishment is coming along well. The hotel were very communicative in advance about the swimming pool being out of action which was appreciated.

The kettles have been replaced by coffee making machines This is no good for tea drinkers! My first request for a kettle was refused so I had to ask a manager. The new bar area was too cold to sit in. The heating needs to be sorted.
