Located in a quiet residential area with limited shops nearby means having a car is more convenient. The grounds are lovingly and beautifully maintained by the gardener lady we saw. There was plenty of parking. Reception desk staff were effective but not particularly friendly I felt but maybe I just caught them at a bad time. Staff at breakfast worked very hard to make sure everything was replaced as soon as it ran out. They were kept busy. Breakfast had a good selection of teas, coffees, fruit juice, cereal and yoghurt along with a great selection of hot options including bacon, sausages, black pudding, mushrooms, beans and tattie scones, so a big shout out for that. Apart from some bananas or apples, fruit was however mainly canned peaches or oranges. Some freshly cooked options can be requested. Our room was very clean, comfortable with an excellent bed and linens and good quality towels. A fan was supplied for warmer days as there is no a/c. It is Scotland!!

The hotel itself is in a beautiful woodland location not far from Broughty Ferry in Dundee, the staff are extremely friendly and very welcoming. The room itself was very nice, very clean and pretty spotless to be honest. It was such a beautiful place to spend time and relax. The restaurant serves fantastic food and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend eating in there. Even with a function taking place inside the hotel, the noise inside the room was minimal and at midnight, the hotel fell silent. House keeping staff were friendly and helpful.

This is one thing I would point out to those who park in the car park, it is absolutely no fault of the hotel at all but I just wanted other drivers to be aware of it. If you park under any of the large trees in the car park, your vehicle will be peppered with bird droppings. We had recently washed our car only for it to look 10 times worse the next morning haha! I would recommend parking in the open bays away from the trees.

I stayed at the hotel for one night in a single room with ensuite facilities. The hotel was conveniently situated not too far from the main road and there was clearly ample parking available in the extensive grounds. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful and when I arrived at my room I found it more than adequately sized for my needs and it had all the amenities you'd expect. I was soon ready for a quick pint after a long day's driving so made my way to the bar area which was very nicely appointed and had a decent selection of beers, in fact it was so nice I decided to purchase a second pint and a bag of crisps! Once again, the bar staff were friendly and helpful and I particularly enjoyed a lengthy chat about football in the area (among other things) with staff member Craig Bolton in between his duties. I then went back up to my room and availed myself of the coffee making facilities before finally retiring to a most comfortable single bed! After a refreshing night's kip I had a lovely shower and then made my way back to the car. All-in-all it was a lovely stay at what I considered to be a very competitive price which was elevated to a 10 due to my interactions with the staff. I can't comment on the quality of the dinner or breakfast as I didn't partake in either and this also applies to the myriad leisure facilities and activities on offer.

I honestly can't think of anything given that I only stayed for the one night and found everything to my satisfaction.

The location is beautiful, lots of lovely big trees and nice outside areas to sit and have a drink if the weather is suitable. I liked that I was given a small double. As a single traveler it's nice to have a decent size bed. Breakfast was very good value.

The TV in my room wasn't working, this didn't bother me, but it might have someone else. I reported when I checked out. It's a pity that you don't have a lift in the hotel, but, I do appreciate that it's a very old building, when I said by mobility wasn't good I was given a room on the first floor which I was very thankful for. You had to get out of bed to switch the bedside lamp off!!

The room was quite spacious , the beds were most comfortable, both breakfast and dinner were well prepared and very much to my strict vegetarian requirements. The alcoholic drinks were not over-priced in any way and service both in the restaurant and the bar was quick, caring and considerate.

Frankly a Lift ( Elevator ) serving that part of the hotel that contained our first floor room. When we booked in an off duty staff member helped us carry our cases upward, but we pair of octogenarians found bringing the cases back down quite difficult and a somewhat risky process

I booked 2 rooms for a short family break, a double room & a twin room. Rooms were large & spacious, comfortable beds, decent bathroom, all spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast, although would have preferred pot of tea/coffee instead of machine-made. Pool & spa facilities were spotlessly clean, pool was a nice temperature, sauna/steam room/ jacuzzi were very relaxing. All the staff from reception to dining room, pool to domestic were pleasant & friendly, very helpful when my teenagers forgot the key card to their room. Hotel is in a lovely location in Broughty Ferry, well situated for a walk along the pretty esplanade or a day in Dundee to visit the tourist attractions.

I was upgraded to a superior double room though booking.com ☺️. Room was lovely with four poster bed , couch and tv on wall . Also room was lovely and warm . Had big walk in shower and wee paid 7.50 each to us the leisure facilities which was reasonable and good to have this just to relax , have swim, jazzuca , sauna unfortunately the steam room not working. They also have gym but I never used but look good. Food was lovely Dinner and Breakfast I.ve been to this hotel a few times so will be back again when fancy wee night away and not to far from home ☺️

The hotel was nice with good facilities, pool, jacuzzi and restaurant. Staff in the restaurant were very friendly and food came out quickly. Bathroom was clean and so was the room. Easy check in and check our with reception being informative.

There were no sockets by the beds which always is a little frustrating. The door handles were very loud when closing and at all hours we could hear people slamming there doors closed. Think this may be cause people werent catching the door just letting it swing and was very loud. Would have been good if we were put in a section with other families as having a 3 year old hear doors slamming wasn't great but this would not put us off staying again just something the hotel could look at upgrading.

Plenty of parking. EV charger on site although I didn't use it. Room was nice, if a little warm. Dinner was good. Checkout was fast. Great location, short walk to the river front & not too far to walk into Broughty Ferry.

Room doors slam if they are left to close on their own, this has always been the case here. In order to charge items to your room you need to present the small card which comes with your room key. This was not explained to me on checking in, nor does it say so on the card itself, so a little embarrassing that having ordered a drink at the bar I then had to return to my room for this card

The location of the hotel is good. You are a short walk to the village and the beach with lovely walks along the esplanade. The staff are friendly. The bar is inviting and there is always good people watching to be done. Especially when there is a wedding party. The room was quiet and cosy.

The room was small, but was enough for our needs. Breakfast was a little uninspiring for us. We are vegan and had the choice of a few options but nothing that we really liked. Some fresh fruit instead of tinned may have been nicer . In fairness we never asked for any other options and we are not big breakfast eaters. For the same reasons we did not eat dinner in the hotel. Previously, we did not have to pay to use the pool and gym. It now costs £10 per person.
