We have stayed in many hotels but this for location, facilities, staff and value for money rates at the very top. The hotel is above the railway station and arriving by train in Dundee it was a 2 minute walk. There is no restaurant for evening meals but the hotel is about 500 yards from the city centre and there are restaurants from 'World Foods Buffet', The Blue Room, (Italian) the Nether Inn (pub grub), TheTrade Room (Pub Grub)and lots of Indian and Chinese within easy walking distance. The V&A museum, RRS Discovery and HMS Unicorn museums are within easy walking distance and the Verdant Works Jute museum is worth a visit.

What's not to like

This is a very nice hotel modern located next to Dundee railway station. The hotel is on the 2nd - 5th floors of an office block, 2 minutes walk from the V&A museum, about 7 from the town centre and 15 at most from the University. There is a Tesco's express at the station next door, and a good selection of restaurants nearby. I stayed in a double room which was clean and comfortable. The room was large and had a double bed, and a decent sized shower and bathroom. The room also included a safe (which I didn't) use, air conditioning and a large television (maybe 40" - not quite sure). Given that my booking was at fairly short notice, it was reasonable value. There is a restaurant on the 2nd floor, which I didn't use because the breakfast was quite expensive - instead I went to a nearby cafe. I didn't have much cause to interact with the hotel stuff, but there were friendly when I talked to them, and they were able to store my luggage in a luggage room after the last day of my stay. If I visit Dundee again I will probably stay here.

There was little to fault. I could hear occasional noise from the road outside and the other bedrooms, so the sound proofing isn't as good as it could be. There wasn't much storage - just a hanging rail and half a dozen hangers, which didn't make any difference for me staying a weekend, but would improve a longer stay. Also the front door gets locked at 6.00pm and you have use your keycard to get in, or buzz for reception.

The room was modern minimalist but still welcoming. Sound insulation from a busy road was excellent. Accessible shower had a fold down seat and choice of showerheads. Staff were lovely Underbed lighting was surprise but very useful for nighttime bathroom visits

Only because i had never encountered this i struggled to use the key card with the lift at first and I couldn't find the place to put the key card for electricity - took me several minutes. The "exploding" loo roll holder startled me as it bounced across the room followed by the loo roll. I was able to return it and there was another roll. Whilst appreciating a room without an encyclopedia of infornation, I would have liked something that explained the shower settings

Loved everything about this hotel. The staff were fabulous and, even though I had not asked for it, they gave my 85yo father-in-law an accessible room which made his stay so much better as the bathroom was larger and… more accessible for him! The location was perfect, literally right next to the train station and opposite the V&A. The buffet breakfast was perfect - toast, pastries, cereal, hot food, cold food and it was constantly topped up by attentive staff. The room was clean and a good size, comfy bed and good shower pressure.

Need a luggage rack in the room to get suitcase up off the floor… but at least there was a lot of floor space to put our suitcases!

New ownership making bedrooms more relaxing with colour changes, and great attention to detail. Scrupulous clean. Very welcoming staff, in every area, very helpful and always smiling. A very pleasant atmosphere. Cleaning staff were very helpful and attentive. Great hotel. 4th visit and will continue going to this excellent hotel. Everything was perfect. Thank you

Two small suggestions: biscuits with tea and coffee in room. A glass ( Plastic if necessary) in the bath room.

Very comfy bed. Pillow very plump. High quality. Temp control large display so can see it without my glasses on. Lights under the bed were cool. Kettle base secured into the counter top. Didn’t have to faff around plugging in. I had great view of river and train tracks. Especially good for a train spotter. Shame I’m not one of them. Air con was good and responsive. I turned up the temp and it got warm. I turned down the temp and it got cool. Brilliant. First hotel I ever stayed in with the bathroom tap high enough to be able to fill the kettle properly. Nice clean laminate floor. Had no concerns about previous people’s fluff! Glass door to en-suite was good - could leave bathroom light on and it made nice ambient lighting in the room. Nice comfy swivel chair. Nice modern glass desk / makeup desk. Overall really good quality, clean and modern.

Toilet paper rough. No biscuits. Strange water gurgling sounds at night. I thought it was rain but turned out there was no rain. Think it was air con.

Room perfect. enough room for my wheelchair. However bed far too wide, difficult to get out of, due to lack of use legs! Shower room, could not fault it, managed to get wheelchair in. Shower was such that I could not have fallen, I felt safe. The staff recognised that I needed 'extra assistance' and for that I am grateful. Central location, access to all I wanted to see. Railway station immediately at hand.

Hotel too big, difficult to navigate. Breakfast, the food I didn't think was at all nice, lack of choice on menu. Cooking was 'immature!'. On arrival couldn't find main access door, had to follow another guest in.

Friendly, helpful, welcoming staff. Good breakfast. Super clean. Plenty of mirrors and good lighting. Excellent shower with toiletries provided. Comfortable bed. Everything in good condition and working order. Very well located close to amenities, transport and town centre.

Though faultless the room was spartan, minimalist, and lacking snugness or warmth to come back to. Furniture and fittings were kept to bare minimum: a single very narrow open "wardrobe", no drawers. A small glass shelf each side of the bed but nowhere to tidy or store personal effects or even underwear. 2 small hooks in the bathroom - a struggle for 2 guests for example each with towels or wanting to hang up clothing/dressing gown while showering. Nowhere for hanging a handtowel for handwashing. No tooth mug.

Central position next to Railway station and across the road from V & A museum in Dundee We arrived 2.5hrs early and were provided with a room straight away. The property was very clean and the breakfast was pretty good All in all a nice comfortable place to stay

We received a phone call to say that we had left our bags, a jacket and a charger cable in our room. My reply was we were in the breakfast room having breakfast and had not left yet. We saw the funny side and our belongings were where we had left them. Otherwise all good
