The rooms were very tidy and clean. Frontdesk staff was eager to help us arrange transport while leaving and attend to our request if possible. Location was superb if you are there for graduation at St Andrews, literally across the road. We didn’t get enough time to enjoy the private garden but seems really comfy

The water pressure was lacking a bit and the shower heads needed some cleaning. Breakfast was served nicely but would be nice if they specified that each person could only order 1 type of hot dish as we were unaware of this and tried to ask for another dish. Variety of breakfast was also lacking variety (buffet style section only consisted of yoghurt, one type of ham and cheese, a few pastries and cereal)

Central location is fantastic. Booked into the garden suite which was spacious, unable to utilise access to the garden due to the weather. May lack privacy in the summer if others breakfast outside as there is also access to the adjoining area from the breakfast room. There was an issue with breakfast in this occasion as the chef was apparently ill and a temp brought in. There was a long wait on the first morning but this was resolved by day 2 with a more limited menu (still ample choice). Dining staff were apologetic, check in staff were a little vague and mentioned that there may not be any cooked breakfast, no apologies given at the time, seemed to assume buffet would suffice!

Shower pressure was a little low. One of the TVs (the garden suite has adjoining rooms) didn’t have signal for the whole stay. I did not address this at the time as we spent very little time in the room so it was only a minor inconvenience to us but to others it may be an issue. Others in our party had limited signal/channels in other rooms too.

The staff were some of the best I’ve ever encountered, helpful, professional, kind. The breakfast was very good, they clearly have a good chef. Everything was spotlessly clean and the building itself is a wonderful example of Georgian style.

The hotel despite being perfectly spotless is a little “tired” but they know that and are planning some renovations. The rooms could do with reconfiguration to provide some slightly larger rooms with bathrooms that have baths in not just showers. It’s great to have the choice when you book and adds to the boutique/ luxury feel of a room. The building itself has great bones and would lend itself to a heritage/quality feel. I’d love to stay again and can’t wait to see what you do with the place.

Excellent breakfast, good choice, cooked fresh to order and served very quickly (though I admit I have breakfast early, around 7.15, so I don't know if it gets busier later). - The room was good, but a little plain, basic overhead lighting, and there was just too much big furniture in a smallish space - so, for example, I had to move one of the bedside tables out of the way to be able to open the wardrobe door. The two single beds - and the one I used was very comfy - with a bedside table between them took up most of the floor space, and everything else was squeezed around them. Replacing them with one large double bed would solve the problem, or even just taking out the middle bedside table and pushing the single beds together. But these are quibbles; overall it was comfy. Good-sized TV too. - Location: for anyone visiting the University the Albany is the perfect place - right opposite the main buildings and everything I needed just a very short walk away. Great for sightseeing too, with the castle and cathedral ruins just 5 minutes' walk away. - Very welcoming staff. - Good WiFi, important for me as I was travelling on business and spent several hours working in the room.

The electric shower was a bit feeble, but these are historic buildings and there are probably limits to what they can do. It was OK for just two nights.

The room was clean, cozy and quiet! We were delighted with the location as it was just a short, beautiful walk to all the things we wanted to see. It was also just across the street from the University which was an unbelievable view from our window! Breakfast was also the best we've ever had in a hotel experience! We appreciated they could store our luggage on our last day so we could do some shopping.

We are older persons and a ground floor room would have been nice. However, we have no complaints about our room as it was perfect in every other way!

We did book a small room but it wasn't the room in 3 of the 4 photos on Booking.com. we hardly had any space to have our luggage or make a cup of tea. However it was clean & comfortable and in a good location. Towels were great. Shower pretty ordinary. Also the building was under renovation which we were advised of a couple of days before we arrived but we were already on our trip and changing at this late stage was in the too hard bucket

Location excellent central to main High Street great for walking distance to local attractions, the hotel room was spacious and very clean, the breakfast was excellent made from local ingredients quality was amazing, beautiful breakfast room over looking rear garden, one of the best breakfasts I have eaten in a hotel for a long time, staff friendly and attentive would highly recommend staying at the Albany hotel great value for the money, will certainly be back.

For the value of the rooms really nothing to improve on everything was great the hotel was busy in saying that it was peaceful and quiet we had a great nights sleep and enjoyed our breakfast and staying there.

A charming place to stay with a wonderful staff. We thoroughly enjoyed a lovely, spotless room that overlooked a little garden. The room was very quiet, the bed just right, and there was a wonderful private sitting room with a fireplace for our use. We were able to park our car, without charge, across the street and enjoy lunch close by. It is located within an easy walk to St Andrew's Golf Course, very nice aquarium, beach, and town. We certainly will recommend staying here to our golfing friends ! !

It was perfect!!

Well kept traditional hotel in a good location. Room was comfortable and clean. Had everything I needed. I could even get an iron with ironing board at the reception. Free street parking at the entrance of the hotel. Town centre only a short walking distance.

The waitresses at the breakfast seemed a bit unexperienced but they were welcoming and helpful, so overall the breakfast was also enjoyable and the full Scottish was nice.

Room was large and very clean with modern bathroom. Beds were extremely comfortable and warm.staff were really friendly and helpful.Location was excellent for all amenities short walk to beach and to centre of town.Breakfast was first class with great choice and quality products.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would have no hesitation in returning.We stayed in a junior suite which also had a terrace to sit in if the weather was warm.
