We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. We had large room with a large and comfortable bed and a bath in our en-suite, which I like. It was good to have a relax in the spa after an active day, although the pool was too small for a proper "swim". We waited a while for our food in the restaurant (Saturday) but both enjoyed our meals. The bar was a comfortable place to watch sport on TV. This was the best value hotel of our trip and we'd stay here again.

Swimming pool was smaller than I expected. We were very happy to eat in the hotel restaurant. For those wanting more choice, the hotel is more than 4 miles from the centre of Dundee (so not within walking distance).

The room had a beautiful view! We really enjoyed the good weather that we had. We walked around the property in the morning after breakfast. We had dinner and breakfast on site. The food was really good. They offered several vegetarian and gluten-free options for those with special dietary needs. The staff were all very friendly. The lady that checked us in at night asked us if we were planning on eating dinner and we said yes. She quickly ran to the restaurant to put our name in for a table then came back and took our luggage behind the desk and asked us to check-in after dinner so we could eat before they closed. We were thankful that she thought about that.

If I had a complaint, it would be that the water pressure drops in the shower if you have it and the sink running at the same time. Other people flushing their toilet would cause a rush of hot water into the shower also. These are the worst things I could think of.

It's a nice hotel with plenty of parking and car chargers which is great. It's in a good location if you don't want to be right in the city. It's only a 10 minute drive. The staff were lovely. It was a fairly quiet room and we had a good sleep in a huge bed. The wee sachets of milk were good as we had forgotten to get some.

The hotel could be doing with a good deep clean. It wasn't dirty, just the carpets needed a good clean. A coat of paint is needed and things like the shower curtains are a bit dated. The ceiling in the bathroom needs a clean too. Nothing out of the ordinary for a place that is used regularly. The last time we stayed I'm sure we didn't pay for parking so that wasn't great but the decent priced car charging was a bonus. I'm sure it's expensive to put in and run but a wee fridge would be good too.

We were here for my son's graduation, so the location suited us, being out of central Dundee, but only 11 minutes drive away. There were pleasant grounds, a gym and pool, and it was quiet. Our room was a decent size with a comfortable bed, TV, and well-appointed en suite, with a bath and shower. We had complimentary bottles of water, packs of biscuits, tea and coffee, and a kettle. There were ample power points, bedside lamps, and tables.

There wasn't a fan in the room and it was quite hot, but we saw one outside a neighbouring room, so they may have been available on request. There weren't shops or eateries in the immediate vicinity, but plenty of both only a short drive away. We had to pay for parking on arrival - £5 per 24hr period - I would have preferred the parking to be included for hotel guests.

The bar & garden seating area was very pleasant on a sunny afternoon. The bed was very comfortable, excellent mattress & pillows, duvet & room temperature perfect for summer. The Maze dining area for breakfast was spacious & had lovely views. The cooked breakfast had a wide selection of items. All staff were very friendly & helpful. We didn't have time to use the leisure facilities but they looked to be well maintained.

We were shocked to find an additional fee for parking at the hotel, as would have expected this to have been included in price & there was a lot of parking spaces available so not sure why this was charged as extra. We were blue badge holders, so was very unusual to be charged. The £5 fee for 24 hours was reasonable, but the way this was managed via a QR code, independent from hotel, made the checking in process time consuming & difficult for guests arriving & for the staff on reception desk. Would be easier to either include in price of room, or at least be able to pay by card.

Rooms were very nice, albeit slightly dated. Very clean. Gardens were lovely and the building itself was very nice visually.

Changing rooms could do with updated lockers. Most didnt lock and if they did they then didnt unlock and had to get the leisure attendant to open. Pools is extremely small, could do with time slots for the swimming pool as gets very crowded very quickly. Breakfast had a small selection of cold options, maybe stretch out the pastry options to add maybe pancakes or waffles, some extra spreads etc. The room was lovely, but the mattress on the bed was terrible. Have came away today with an aching back due to it.

The location off the motorway was easy to get to and get back on the motorway when we left. The food at the restaurant was amazing and worth the money. The walk around the gardens was lovely and sitting outside with a coffee was nice and relaxing. The facilities at the hotel were great and very clean. The staff were very helpful and pleasant when we asked for anything. I would recommend this hotel and I'm sure I'll be back at some point.

The pillows weren't the comfiest for me but my friend liked them which is just a preference thing.

We were offered a complimentary upgrade to a superior room which was a lovely surprise and greatly appreciated. Lovely spacious room, very clean with excellent facilities. Great having a fridge to keep drinks cold. Staff were helpful and friendly. Nice easy check in. The restaurant for breakfast was warmer this time than in previous visits... which was great. Good varied breakfast items.

Nothing really negative to say. The climate control wasn't working in the room but that didn't matter as there was a separate heater which ensured the room was at a comfortable temperature

Warm welcome from staff who were all really helpful. Great service at the bar and no problem getting a table for dinner at a time of our choosing. Great having access to the leisure facilities. Hotel clean and pleasant. Lovely walk around the outside space in the morning.

Food was not good. Ordered chickpea curry as main (1 of only 2 vegetarian options). The curry which arrived was so spicy it was inedible and had to be left so £17 for a small nan bread and bowl of rice. Informed staff who said she would let the kitchen know but no further option to resolve. Lady at another table had the same order although she was then offered a sandwich and chips. Would stay again but definitely eat elsewhere.

The room was a good size and clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. I loved the spa, what a treat! The spa has a pool, steam room and sauna and the facilites were clean and pleasant. It was nice to get a bit of pampering in, and this is the main reason I will stay at this hotel again.

I was grateful for the reviews that pointed out how inaccurate the photos were, it managed my expectations so that I wasn't disappointed upon arrival. The rooms are in an ugly annexe, not the stately home, but the rooms themselves are nice - about the same standard as a Premier Inn. The bar and restaurant had a limited menu and the overall feel was shabby. It smelled of old grease and a few of the mismatched chairs were threadbare. The basic vibe here is 'faded grandeur' but for the low price I paid, I thought the hotel was excellent value. The staff were lovely and I will definitely stay there again for a bit more pampering at the spa.
