We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. We had large room with a large and comfortable bed and a bath in our en-suite, which I like. It was good to have a relax in the spa after an active day, although the pool was too small for a proper "swim". We waited a while for our food in the restaurant (Saturday) but both enjoyed our meals. The bar was a comfortable place to watch sport on TV. This was the best value hotel of our trip and we'd stay here again.

Swimming pool was smaller than I expected. We were very happy to eat in the hotel restaurant. For those wanting more choice, the hotel is more than 4 miles from the centre of Dundee (so not within walking distance).

Rooms were very nice, albeit slightly dated. Very clean. Gardens were lovely and the building itself was very nice visually.

Changing rooms could do with updated lockers. Most didnt lock and if they did they then didnt unlock and had to get the leisure attendant to open. Pools is extremely small, could do with time slots for the swimming pool as gets very crowded very quickly. Breakfast had a small selection of cold options, maybe stretch out the pastry options to add maybe pancakes or waffles, some extra spreads etc. The room was lovely, but the mattress on the bed was terrible. Have came away today with an aching back due to it.

We were offered a complimentary upgrade to a superior room which was a lovely surprise and greatly appreciated. Lovely spacious room, very clean with excellent facilities. Great having a fridge to keep drinks cold. Staff were helpful and friendly. Nice easy check in. The restaurant for breakfast was warmer this time than in previous visits... which was great. Good varied breakfast items.

Nothing really negative to say. The climate control wasn't working in the room but that didn't matter as there was a separate heater which ensured the room was at a comfortable temperature

Warm welcome from staff who were all really helpful. Great service at the bar and no problem getting a table for dinner at a time of our choosing. Great having access to the leisure facilities. Hotel clean and pleasant. Lovely walk around the outside space in the morning.

Food was not good. Ordered chickpea curry as main (1 of only 2 vegetarian options). The curry which arrived was so spicy it was inedible and had to be left so £17 for a small nan bread and bowl of rice. Informed staff who said she would let the kitchen know but no further option to resolve. Lady at another table had the same order although she was then offered a sandwich and chips. Would stay again but definitely eat elsewhere.

The room was a good size and clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. I loved the spa, what a treat! The spa has a pool, steam room and sauna and the facilites were clean and pleasant. It was nice to get a bit of pampering in, and this is the main reason I will stay at this hotel again.

I was grateful for the reviews that pointed out how inaccurate the photos were, it managed my expectations so that I wasn't disappointed upon arrival. The rooms are in an ugly annexe, not the stately home, but the rooms themselves are nice - about the same standard as a Premier Inn. The bar and restaurant had a limited menu and the overall feel was shabby. It smelled of old grease and a few of the mismatched chairs were threadbare. The basic vibe here is 'faded grandeur' but for the low price I paid, I thought the hotel was excellent value. The staff were lovely and I will definitely stay there again for a bit more pampering at the spa.

This is my second stay here and I love it. I’ll be back. The bed was so comfortable. I had the best sleep. The room was nice and quiet I got a completely undistrubed sleep. I had a bath & it was huge. I couldn’t even reach the end with my feet lol. And the pressure from the shower was also really strong & good. The staff were lovely.

Genuinely nothing. Although I’d have loved a smart TV in the room to watch Netflix or something. But that’s only because I come to stay to have a night to myself as a break from life. Chilling in the bed watching just normal tv is annoying. But that’s genuinely not even an issue lol

Unfortunately I arrived late so didn't get to use the facilities. However in my short time there, the staff are helpful the room was incredibly comfortable the bed and pillows were amongst the best I've stayed in. However, I made a point to phone the hotel As I left a personal item in the room which was valuable to me but not valuable as an item. I was desperate to get this back and I spoke to a lady called Kelsey. She spoke to me several times , probably more than I expected to ensure that I've got the item back safe and sound. Many people think this is normal practice but in my experience you don't always get such good service with things like this. I would like To stress my thanks to Kelsey 🙏 and I called the hotel to ask that she be mentioned in any team meetings or complementary issues from customers. Willl definitely stay here again, for me staff is more important than a room, although this was good in both areas and was extremely good value and a great location for Dundee City

The cost was excellent value for money and the location was excellent car park spacious the entrance is clean and presentable reception was extremely helpful and a lovely young lady The bar was extremely presentable very clean area although a little pricey as you expect from a hotel The staff we're some of the nicest people I have met and the young lady that night helped me with my food order and drink selection with a very nice chap who brought it out etc was warm and welcoming at all times My room was very nice very comfortable very very well presented I really enjoyed it although I do believe it's the little things that matters perhaps a little more coffee sugar tea milk and perhaps hot chocolate as it's a very cold place Dundee

Absolutely nothing the place is remarkable

Staff were helpful and friendly, the setting is lovely and the food was excellent. The room was very large and clean.

The pillows in the room were too soft, which made it difficult to sleep. The restaurant is a bit of a puzzle, some days the dining room is used, with a full menu, the next day it is closed and service is in the bar with a reduced menu or you might get a full menu. Unless you are down early for breakfast, it gets busy and food and plates become reduced very quickly. The coffee machines are very temperamental, and at times there are not enough staff on to clear the tables.

We have stayed here a few times and always found the experience positive and pleasant. The location is excellent for travelling into Dundee or using it as a base for travelling around Perthshire, Angus and Fife.

The hotel was transitioning to new owners and there was limited menu selections available. Also some staff were struggling with the changes and were uncertain of their future.
