The setting of this house was beautiful. The staff were very nice. But there were little things that spoilt the experience. I paid a little more than I normally do for accommodation as for once, my husband and I were actually away for our wedding anniversary (36 years), so wanted to make it a little bit special. Through no fault of the hotel, our room was not as planned as the door lock had to be broken earlier in the day to let a guest out., We still had access to the room to use so we were still able to enjoy the room. We were given the room next door as our bedroom, which wasn't quite as nice and had a tiny TV so we used the one in what should've been our room. We also had to ask for towels and milk etc., for the second room as it looked as though it hadn't been finished in preparation for guests. The staff did very well under the circumstances, it just spoilt things a little.

The building is unique, comfortable, and welcoming. The staff were very friendly and helpful. As a solo traveller I felt very at ease.

I thought the food was a bit inconsistent. The fish and chips were too oily. The chicken, bangers and mash and porridge were great. The eggs for breakfast were poorly cooked. If I stay again I'd definitely specify no runny eggs. I just thought it was a shame that the food was unreliable.

The staff were so helpful and kind. Went out of their way to make sure I had what I needed and even offered extra that was definitely not expected but very much appreciated.

Location wise the grounds are so beautiful. Fantastic view of the gardens and right over the tay. It does however look over Dundee Airport. This did not bother me at all but when the planes come in and go out it could be rather loud. I was there from 4pm to 11am the following day and there were 2 planes in that space of time.

We had a beautiful stay at Taypark House. It was fantastic for our two boys, they loved adventuring about outside in the stunning grounds. We were fortunate to have the Turret Suite and what an exciting surprise that was. The room was spacious and felt luxurious with a stunning Riverside view. Staff were wonderfully helpful, smiley and very approachable.

Being close to the airport it was a little noisy with a few planes taking off, but again with two young boys, this was to them an added bonus.

Beautiful venue within gorgeous grounds - decor was stunning. Stayed in the Turret Room which was massive, had large shower plus stand alone bath and secret staircase to the turret which had fabulous sea views. The staff were amazing from check in/out! Sandy took care of our needs and both barmen were very attentive as were the dining staff. The food was delicious and well presented. I would probably advise booking direct with the venue as better deals available. This hidden gem would be perfect for private parties, weddings or special occasions. It will definitely be on our list to return to in the future.

Pillows were uncomfortable but that’s a personal choice.

The rooms were spacious and absolutely gorgeous within this stately and historical building. We loved the stone work within the rooms and the massive ensuite bathrooms with heated towel racks. Our room was clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed eating our dinner outside in one of their heated geodesic domes…great rain or shine! Staff were very friendly and helpful!

There is a small airport close to Taypark House. You can hear the plane engines warming up at times but it is not constant. It was not inexpensive to stay at this hotel so we were surprised to see an unfinished patchwork on the wall in the bathroom. As well, the caulking in the shower base needs replacing. It was black in several areas which in my experience indicates mold.

This is hotel is absolutely beautiful we stopped in the Ben Hogan Suite it certainly didn’t disappoint the bedroom was quite big but I have never seen a bathroom so big it had a roll top bath and a double shower, bar is nice good variety of drinks, breakfast was one of the best I have had at a hotel.the view of the river Tay and the ray bridge out of the window was also perfect

Forget all the comments about worn carpets etc that’s exactly what gives this place its charm & character.It offers a very relaxed ambience and there’s no hassle or fuss involved easy check in & check out.Fantastic breakfast.Great parking.Staff polite & helpful.Superb value.

As the hotel is presumably a converted house it’s design is reliant on quiet & respectful residents.Rooms potentially could suffer from intrusive noise.

The staff were so kind and friendly and breakfast was wonderful! Fresh and flavorful ingredients and made with love. Our room was beautiful and had a turret which was very fun to sit in with a glass of wine and look out at the River Tay. Our room was also enormous in size which was perfect for our 10 month old to crawl around and explore in!

The breakfast was good but I would not say it stood out from previous breakfasts.

Perhaps tea spoons with the coffee making equipment. While being at the end of Dundee Airport runway wasn‘t really an issue. It’s a quiet airport and flights were few perhaps the staff making a big deal about the fact that people complain wasn’t the best marketing strategy.
