My plane was late and so I arrived late and it was helpful that the night warden was available to give me my room key. Also, I asked a staff member, Brian Murphy to print a document for me as this, he helpfully did with no fuss. Breakfast in this venue is very good, the choice, the quality will impress. The bar in the evening is also good to have and it helps that it also serves food. The good staff here make an already good venue a whole lot better.

The place was clean and tidy and the staff were all helpful and friendly. Similar to a Premier Inn style hotel, the breakfast is a buffet arrangement with a good range of foodstuffs for vegans, and gluten intolerant. We were delighted to have haggis on the menu as we love that as a breakfast item. There were good choices and it was well run. It's very close to St Andrews and in a very large site, plenty of free parking.

This is student accommodation let out in the summer recess and is around the same rates as a Premier Inn. However, because they are student accommodation the rooms are quite small, but adequately fitted out. However, the mattress must be the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever tried to to sleep on.

Primarily, great value for money in a town that can be pricey. The location is excellent being just a 10 minute walk to the town centre and 5 to the golf course; ideal for going out for a walk at nights. The building is very clean, staff are friendly and there is an abundance of parking included in the price. Unsurprisingly, the room is basic considering its student accomodation but perfectly comfortable, especially for the price. If you're using it as a base to explore then it's ideal - this is affordable accomodation for tourists and business alike. The best point and biggest surprise was the breakfast. Great options, fresh food, great quality - probably the best breakfast we've had at any hotel, way beyond what is reasonable to expect at this price point.

Everything was good, mattress could be a little better but thats nitpicking.

Booking engine/ web site is excellent (booking.com). Very efficient check-in procedures. Compared to St Andrews hotel prices, provides excellent value for money. Definately recommend.

My only smalll concern is the dated state of facilities. Universities are obviously under-going serious financial difficulties, so only concern is the longer term detail for continued investment and refurbishment in student accommodation and related facilities. Bed and mattress are old. "Kerb appeal" outside areas could do with a good tidy up and clean. However overall that is "only constructive" and the value does over-ride all comments.

Amazing my location and really well maintained. While a bit dated in places, the staff were wonderful and really invested in making the place as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. And the breakfast? Wow.

A little dated but not to the detriment of the experience. Only real thing is that the TV didn’t work in our room but that didn’t matter; sure if we raised it, members of the facilities team would have raced to the room to fix it. Would value a list of instructions in the room that told us things like connecting to WiFi, reminders of breakfast times, vending machine locations, taxi numbers etc, but we worked it all out.

Excellent price for a double room in August. The staff were helpful on arrival and were able to answer our questions. The room was basic, but very much as expected. Superior shower gel supplied! Pizza available at the bar in the evening, but so close to central St Andrews for other food options. Breakfast was great - lots of options: full cooked; gluten free station; cereals; cheese; bread and cold meat. Easy parking in the adjacent car park.

Sound insulation between rooms wasn't great, but to be expected given that the main purpose of the accommodation is for students. Some people might find the refectory-style breakfast a bit hectic, but again, it's what we were expecting.

St. Andrews is brutally expensive, and this is the closest thing to a budget option, though you're still paying £100 a night. The room you get is quite small, as befits student accommodation, but comfortable and well-appointed, with a double bed and en suite bathroom. Best of all, an excellent buffet breakfast is included each morning in the cafeteria downstairs (a £20 value at many British hotels). This is your chance to try haggis, along with many more conventional offerings! The hall is about a 20-minute walk from the heart of town. Staff are very friendly, and there's a decent and well-priced pub operating from 4-11 p.m., with pizza and a couple of other snack-style items. I'd book again.

For what it is, it's fine and well-run.

Lovely building in a lovely setting. Excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfasts were good with lots of choices and in a large and light room. It was only a short walk into St Andrews for excellent restaurants and many interesting places to visit there and further afield.

We had a few problems with the bathroom. The water had to be run for minutes on end to be warm enough for the small walk in shower though it got there in the end. It also was liable to flood over the lip of the shower wetting the floor.

Staff at reception were friendly and helpful. Ideal to have parking, and was a short walk into town. Room was very clean. Handy to have basic items in the bathroom such as toilet roll and soap. Water dispenser in the building to refill water bottles. Laundry and ironing facility available in the building too. Overall we found it to be good value for the location, cleanliness, service and facilities.

Our bed was a little uncomfortable, and room was a bit warm through the night. Room was quite compact for 2 adults. We didn't manage breakfast so can't comment.

Breakfast was quite a wide range of options. I appreciated that there was at least instant decaf coffee and decaf tea, and there was a sugar free soy milk. The room was quite sufficient, had all that one needs, even a more spacious bathroom (than other dorms have).

The mattress was still usable for a single person who is not too heavy; however, the springs (?) were quite audible and poking in some area. No matter if guest or student, I think a new mattress is necessary.
