Window view is of the sea, at an angle, but otherwise overlooked by the pedestrians and barfly's spilling onto the pavement, room 5 is particularly noisy in hearing the bar through the door. The idling vans at the level crossing is annoying too. Full breakfast is indeed filling, no need for lunch or dinner.  Oily pool on the plate from the frying on the first morning.  Fried eggs sunnyside down were brilliantly done. The poached eggs were cooked in semicircular moulds.  The scrambled eggs were batch made and you can almost see the laddle marks. The beans were good. The bacon was fine. The sausages on the final morning are grissly. The cold smoked ham breakfast is just six large sliced of ham, each the side of the dinner plate, nothing else with it. Coffee seems to be instant. Great hot seeded toast. Sausages not as flavourful as elsewhere, had a fair amount of hard gritty bits in the final morning. Dusty closet, don't place clothes on the shelf. BBC News didn't work on the TV and you need hold the remote high. Just black tea and instant coffee in the room. Toiletries and biscuits were fine. Strawberries and raspberries were fine for breakfast although we found the yoghurts warm. House keeper was surprised we were staying on, wondered if we wanted towels changing etc, we said we didn't but after breakfast she changed everything, even unused towels. We repeated the following morning to not replace towels but she did again. The Corner Hotel dinners were about half the price and tasty enough and slight variation on beers. Thinnest loo paper in two months and WiFi signal kept dropping for 10 hours plus Mira shower takes a full five minutes to heat up. There we a pube on the empty shower gel dispenser in the shower and has been there the entire duration of our three night stay. The extractor fan didn't work which was rather unpleasant.

Comfortable rooms and quiet during the night. Perfect location for exploring the east coast. I've heard from locals that the food in the Station hotel is excellent. Hotel has a bar which is old school and friendly so overall highly recommended

For those who don't partake in the full "Scottish" breakfast, I would have liked to see Granola and Museli on offer. Variety packs offered are something from the 70's so this was the only disappointment.

Friendly staff, decent sized room, nice view of the sea, and a really good breakfast available until 10am on weekends. Also helpful that there's a co-op across the street. Walking distance to Carnoustie Golf Links.

The bed was too soft for my liking, but that's just down to a personal preference. I am sure many people like the soft beds. The shower cubicle was a bit too small too, but again, for most people it would be big enough, I assume, and more space has been given to the actual room size.

Staff lovely, breakfast really nice, good quality food and fresh not tinned fruit. room comfortably large easy walk to beach, town centre etc Trains noisy, but it is called the station hotel and some noise can be heard form the pub downstairs but everything closes early anyway.

maybe a vegetarian breakfast option ? Advertised DVD players and dvds but this is not true any more.

Lovely room, bed very comfortable and even the electric shower exceeded my expectations which is great. Staff in the restaurant/bar area were super helpful and accommodating.

The instructions for the internet in my room didn't stack up to what was coming through when I tried to connect but it was not a big deal because I just hung the laptop onto my phone to complete some of the work that I needed to catch up on.

We have stayed in this hotel many times as we visit family regularly, the staff are always friendly and helpful. We absolutely love the food at this hotel and even if not staying have to eat here on every visit to Carnoustie. The pub has a lovely feel with plenty of locals and tourists made to feel welcome.

It was located close to the beach and train service. It had an olde worldly vibe. Room was tidy, lovely crisp bedding, twin room. En-suite, tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast was excellent and we also had dinner which was reasonably priced and tasty great.

Please note we were on the first floor and there were about a dozen steps to reach it. My bed was a little soft for me.

Very warm and welcoming staff, room was very comfortable, clean and with great views of the trains…I had my 6 year old grandson with me…. and sea beyond. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and had breakfast in the morning….great choice, plentiful and delicious! We have stayed at The Station Hotel many times over the years and always look forward to our return trips.

What a hidden gem! The hotel is lovely, and the landlady was so friendly and welcoming ,the food was absolutely top class, with a great menu. The breakfast was absolutely amazing. The hotel is situated near the beach ,so an evening stroll after your meal is a nice way to finish your day.

There is nothing to dislike about this hotel, I will definitely stay there again.

Toilet was a bit small flaking paint on ceiling needs fixed.Small table in room would have been helpful as there was no socket to plug kettle in where it was situated.
