It was delightful. Beautiful room, nice new walk in shower bathroom. Robes slippers. Staff so friendly snd helpful especially Roxy and ulrika at breakfast. Food was great. Breakfast included was superb. Dinner was delicious and very well priced. Lovely walk down to the beach about 15 mins. There is an amazing burger shack public toilets snd a sauna!! Highly recommend this place for great value. Get the bus outside straight to St andrews or in the other direction to Crail anstruther Pittenweem etc. Good timely service.

To be honest there was nothing we didn't like! Initially I was concerned about the distance from St sndrews which is just so expensive but when we heard about excellent bus service that was great. We didn't have to worry about parking in St andrews so we had a nice wonder round then dinner and a few cocktails then headed to bus station for return bus which runs till around 11pm. My Strathclyde over 60 bus pass was accepted so free bus!!

Brilliant stay from start to finish. The only challenge was the early morning light through the blinds — but with a lovely room, gorgeous shower, excellent freshly cooked breakfasts, and restaurant food worth staying in for, it’s hard to complain. The pub is run by dedicated volunteers who really care, and Roxy deserves a special mention - full of energy, warm, attentive, and a master of those thoughtful touches that make you feel like the most important person in the place. She doesn’t just go the extra mile, she makes it the best part of the journey.

Nothing.

Obviously recently renovated, The Inn at Kingsbarns is a real gem! Lovely big, bright room with excellent extras (robes, slippers, Arran toiletries, wide selection of tea and coffees) and a very friendly welcome. Outstanding evening meal and delicious cooked breakfast from a big selection. Great location for driving into St Andrews town in 15 to 20 minutes. Highly recommend.

Definitely no complaints but in case it helps others ... The Inn is directly on the main A road so there is some traffic noise, especially with the windows open, but it's a relatively quiet village and there isn't a continual stream of traffic. Early birds might be bothered by noise from the bar and restaurant but not a problem for us. The car park isn't particularly big but admittedly we found a space for a mid size SUV both days.

The location was in a quaint village not far from St. Andrews. The Inn was picturesque and all rooms updated. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The bar and restaurant were terrific. The Sunday roast dinner was absolutely delicious...one of the best meals we had while in Scotland. I could not have asked for a better experience and am so happy we booked this hotel. I would definitely recommend it to many. One of the fascinating things is that the entire village helped it become one of the best inns in Scotland.

There is nothing that I disliked.

We were greeted with a warm welcome on arrival as the staff knew we were expected - details of our time for dinner, bar area and breakfast set up were all explained and then we were personally shown to our room. The aforementioned touches were really appreciated as so often now, a key is just handed to you and that's it! As it is a small Inn these gestures made us feel our visit and comfort really mattered to all the staff. Our room was lovely and warm with a very spacious en-suite. Very nice smart TV alongside an abundance of socket/ phone charging points throughout the room. Desk/dressing area is a super idea, and I appreciated the large mirror too. Tea/coffee facilities in room had an abundance of choice and the hot chocolate was very good. We had a drink in the very well stocked bar then shown into the 'snug for dinner. Hang on to this chef !!!, as dinner was absolutely delicious. Super menu, knowledgeable staff re menu and wine choices all in all, a superb experience. Great sleep as mattress was so comfortable with an enjoyable start to the day at breakfast. Again a friendly welcome from the staff and a very tasty and well presented breakfast. Offers of more tea/coffee and toast were most appreciated. Overall our stay was extremely good and we will most definitely be returning.

The Inn was just lovely, inside and out. Its location in a small village meant it was very quiet, while still having easy access to St Andrew’s and surrounds. The cosines of the Inn itself and my room was wonderful. The bed was so comfortable. The dinner was delicious, as was breakfast the next day. And the staff - to a person, they were so friendly and helpful. Mark is a great host, and I thought the others I met were lovely too - the. Chef (who encouraged me to eat in), the waitress in the restaurant and also the lady who was cleaning and preparing the rooms - had a friendly chat with her. An example of how lovely the staff are came when I was checking out. Mark had to take a a phone call and a lady who happened to come out from a back room (?kitchen) saw that and so spoke to me until Mark was free.

Nothing - it is wonderful! My only minor suggestion is that providing face washers in the bathroom would be great.

Parking available Breakfast included Super king bed with great mattress Excellent quality bedding and towels Full size deep bath with good pressure shower and lots of hot water. Spacious room with good storage Fittings and furnishings to high standard. The staff were all very friendly and kind

Found the pillows uncomfortable however they were clean and good quality, a different option would have helped. Windows banging in the unusually high wind as traditional style windows, ear plugs would be helpful. Room very hot, unable to turn the radiators down, needs thermostat replacing. Bathroom lighting very bright (wake partner visiting during the night). No hash browns or beans on breakfast, however breakfast great quality and served fresh.

Great location, close to the amazing wild Scottish sauna which we made use of (highly recommend too). The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble, my brother had gluten free requests and they were handled really easily without any fuss. The food was totally amazing - I had the salmon with mussels in a lobster sauce it was incredible. The ruins were spacious, the beds really comfortable and the hot showers were superb. Thanks Mark and team!!!

Slightly cold at the start but we arrived early in the day and Mark fixed the heating very quickly. Maybe invest in a big roaring log/wood fire and make that a centrepiece of the Inn. Not sure if/how possible but a new layout combining both eating areas into a big open plan one might be good too.

Small friendly inn with welcoming locals and staff.Room was clean and tidy with all the facilities you would need including a mini fridge with chilled water and fresh milk provided.Bathroom had a good shower with plenty pressure and storage area for toiletries was good. The bedroom had a door to a small shared patio area and was in an attached building to the inn making it very peaceful with no traffic noise. Bed was comfortable and there was two chairs to relax in breakfast was tasty with a good choices.Very nice stay

Window blinds bright in morning but this is personal preference and did not spoil my stay.
