The hotel is in a great location with easy access to Edinburgh also only a 10 minute drive to an amazing coastal walk. The hotel itself has obviously been refurbished recently. The rooms are fresh, spacious and airy with a great effort in cleanliness and hygiene. The restaurant is pleasant with a great menu more focused on a variety of Nepalese cuisine but also European dishes. The added bonus to this is that they also offer a great takeout menu which they will deliver to your room. The price of food and stay at the hotel is very reasonable. The staff are by far the best people we have come across throughout the many different hotels we have stayed in this year so far. I look forward to our 3rd booking at the hotel in the near future.

It was easy to locate and reach after a long drive from Braemar. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The people running the place were very kind and friendly. We had booked this place after reading that the host runs a restaurant which has both Indian and Nepalese food on the menu and the food was as delicious as they appeared on the pictures. The price of all items on the menu are very reasonable and because of the tasty food that we enjoyed on the first night we returned the next evening for dinner on our way back home. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone and I will definitely be returning back to taste the nice food.

Felt lucky to have found this place: excellent value, lovely staff, good bathroom with nice toiletry supplies, very good tea and coffee-making supplies, excellent selection of TV channels, and best of all an amazingly good Nepalese restaurant on site. I love my food and have eaten Indian and Nepalese food extensively and the chicken biryani I had here was the best ever. They also have Nepalese beer on draught (Everest). The room was cold when we arrived; I mentioned this and they instantly upped the heat to the perfect level. Just to say again, the staff were really, really nice.

Nothing we actually didn't like as such. The room is quite small and has a few strange features: there is no plug socket near the kettle so you have to balance it by on the small bedside locker; there is no curtain on the bathroom window (yes, it is quite high up but it still feels strange when you get out of the shower, we hung a scarf over the window), and a toilet brush is usually a default in a hotel or AirBNB today. But these were very minor issues, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Was a bit expensive for the location and did not include breakfast which was disappointing for what I paid Hotel is still being renovated Drop off box for your key on leaving and no reception or bar area open when I left both doors locked at 10 am so no contact other than staff I saw in hall upstairs Workmen on site climbing into lift building staircase Could do with a tidy up outside and painting First impression wasn’t great Has Indian restaurant so downstairs smells of curry but fortunately not upstairs Wouldn’t stay there again

Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, was able to stream own Netflix on TV. Free tea/coffee and water. Staff very helpful.

Bathroom window had no blind and looked straight into street (admittedly at an angle where I don't believe anyone could look in), but would feel more comfortable with it covered. Decor a little bit tired in places (some wallpaper just starting to lift). Found 10am check out on a Sunday a bit early. Feel the room was over priced for what it was.

Perfect location, very quiet area. The Shimla Dining restaurant was also very nice and the food was fresh and delicious Our room was very clean, tidy and the bed was very comfortable. We also had mugs, a kettle and supplies for tea / coffee, but we were missing spoons on the first and second night, however the hotel staff realised and provided them while cleaning our room on the third day. The room was also cleaned and tidied daily and the heating worked perfectly.

The Earl David Hotel represents excellent value for money. The rooms were very clean and the beds and linen very comfortable. The bathrooms were modern and again very clean. Free onsite parking and access to the outstanding food (some of the best meals i have ever eaten) in the downstairs restaurant for lunch and dinner completed the stay. Service from the staff was exceptional. Looking for a central place to stay in Fife that's close to the water then I highly recommend the Earl David Hotel.

If your a big rig the shower can be a little tight, ask for a room with one of the bigger bathrooms. The lads should do a breakfast menu, their outstanding culinary skills applied to a Scottish Breakfast would complete the experience.

the hotel is great a great value for the money - i can`t understand how comes it only has 2 stars - deserves 4 - the staff very helpful they helped bringing the suitcase into the room , nepalese restaurant awesome and food absolutely delicious- and the amount of people dining there from outside the hotel speaks for itself - every day room service ,fresh towels and shower gel , free bottled water in the room , kettle with coffee and tea , everything in the hotel is new as well , the room was very clean and spacious with a lovely view - we stayed there for 4 nights and would surely recommend this place for everyone ! super close to the beach , in East Wemyss that is roughly a 20 minute walk from the hotel you can find caves with Pictish carvings and ruins of the castle where Macbeth took place , a wonderful by the sea path for a great walk along the sea , the area is famous for coal , gas and oil mining back until the mid 80`s , a great location point if you are planning to get to Edynborough , Dundee, st Andrews , Loch Lomond and many other lovely places full of ruins and places to see , lovely people living in there - very friendly and welcoming.

Room was clean and comfortable and extra pillows provided when we asked. Staff were very accommodating and we had a very good meal in the restaurant.

Room was cold when we arrived and we had to be ask for the heating to be put on. This is an old building and although a lot has clearly been spent on refurbishing and decorating to a good standard there were signs of recent damp in the outer corner of our room. Likely to be an ongoing problem for such a building. On a main road so noisy during the day but wasn’t a problem at night.
