Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and warm, good size.

Breakfast - no cereal on offer, a set menu which meant you couldn't chose the amount you wanted, no side plates to spread the toast, bread was not the best quality, hot breakfast brought to the table whilst still eating fruit and yoghurt. Cups and saucers would be better than the cracked mug. Tables on the first morning were not cleaned up promptly and we had to wait for the table to be cleaned.

Beautiful room and hotel and view of Edinburgh castle. We booked the one spa for £35 each which was amazing also amazing.

I preordered and paid for gifts/decor for the room as a surprise which weren’t there initially but quickly & easily rectified. Just a bit awkward to query in front of the person you’re surprising!

The friendliness of the staff who were all fabulous and couldn't do enough to help us. We had both room service and ate in the restaurant and the food was very tasty. I highly recommend the steak and ale pie 😋. The room had a view over the square with the castle in the background which was very spacious and modern. The spa facilities in this hotel are also excellent. We will be back to stay again very soon.

Very hard to find any fault, perhaps a tip would be to pre-advertise your choice of minibar packages more online before so is ready for when guests arrive.

When we arrived we were told the swimming pool was not in use. We chose this hotel because of the pool, as well as other reasons. We were told we could pay for 3 hours use of the hydro pool instead but we didn’t want 3 hours, we wanted a half hour swim every day. On checkout, I mentioned that we had been disappointed by there not being a pool to use and it turned out we should have been told we could use the pool at a nearby hotel instead. We would have absolutely done that if we had known

What I liked most about this hotel was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. They were always ready to lend a hand, whether it was with luggage or anything else I needed. The cleanliness throughout the hotel was also top-notch, and the location couldn’t have been more convenient, everything was just a short walk away. And there is a hair salon 3 min walk, I loved that. The room was phenomenal, spacious, well-designed, and very comfortable. The bed was especially impressive: large, cozy, and perfect for a great night’s sleep. Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like about my stay. Highly recommended

Having paid almost £600 for our room for the night, I don't think this is good value for money. There are other hotels in edinburgh just as nice for far cheaper.

The front desk staff were lovely and couldn’t have been more welcoming.

The spa staff are pretty rude and don’t help you out or explain where anything is. You are charged too use the spa even though we were staying at hotel. It was so busy we didn’t get a chance too use any of the rooms properly and pool was overcrowded. So disappointed after paying 70 pounds and we left after 20 minutes.

The room itself was lovely and the staff were always very helpful.

Room 305 barely had a view of the castle ( about 1/2 of it ) I even went out my way after booking a castle view room by then contacting the hotel directly just to make sure. you'd think they'd make sure it was a better view after that. but they obviously didn't bother. if you advertise a castle view room, please don't make it ambiguous that you may not get a full view. I stayed for 3 nights at over £1k, it just rubbed with me a little.

The club was fantastic, serving hot and soft drinks all day, breakfast until 11am and delicious canapes and alcoholic drinks from 5 to 7pm. Staff were very generous and asked regularly if we wanted drinks topping up, checking again when the bar was about to close. It was the highlight of our trip. The hotel is stunning, gorgeous flowers on the common floors, really clean, we saw cleaners hoovering carpets right through the day. Its in a great location to walk to all of the sights.

We had booked a club room with no view. Upon checking in the receptionist asked if we would like to upgrade to a castle view room for £40 which seemed a no brainer. It was only on checking out that we realised it was £40 per night! The room was lovely but we slept badly, we were too warm, even with air conditioning. The weather was unexpectedly warm and the duvet was a winter one.

The Room was superb - quiet and well appointed - a bit bigger would have been nice but not essential - a lovely room, The location is brilliant - very central within very easy walking distance to all the sights that Edinburgh has to offer. The concierge and reception staff were absolutely great being both knowledgeable and personable The breakfast was lovely quality food served hot and quickly - very pleased

The only small problem encountered was that coffee machine did not work at breakfast and despite being told it was being sorted - it was not. We (ourselves and another couple) waited for 10 minutes and than spoke to an excellent waitress who very quickly brought us a cafetiere of coffee. When we left the breakfast room maybe 20 minute later, the coffee machine was still not fixed. But as I said - a very small problem rectified by a thoughtful waitress
