I loved that they thought about our baby. They added an excellent cot bed for him, besides the sofa bed. They were so friendly with us and comprehensive. The hotel room was quiet and super clean. Biscuits and tea for us all the time. The location was good for our purpose and the hotel was beautiful and friendly. The breakfast was good, lot of options. I fully recommend it.

The bed was a bit hard and pillows wasn't so comfortable. Maybe that's common in hotel rooms. Breakfast coffee wasn't good and bread options wasn't so wide. However, breakfast stuff are not big issues, you enjoy it anyways. Buy they could have a better coffee

The location was amazing along with the staff being so helpful. The room amenities were so good too definitely worth the price.

I had requested a bath for my room but the tap for the bath didn't work so I couldn't use it properly, there was an extractor fan in the bathroom as well that wouldn't turn off that had such a loud noise that I could hear all night.

The hotel is well located, within walking distance of many main attractions and only 2 minutes from a supermarket. The reception staff were friendly and tried to be helpful, and the room was cleaned every day.

The heating system in my room wasn’t working properly during my stay in October. Although the staff tried to fix it several times, the problem kept coming back, and the room stayed quite cold at night. It seemed to be a known issue rather than something that had just broken. The Wi-Fi connection was also unstable and often didn’t work.

Staff were welcoming and helpful in organising a 6am wake up call for the following morning so I could get to the airport on time after explaining I was having issues with my phone. Location is very good and is about 10 or so minutes walk from the Haymarket train station so has easy access to the buses and trams used for access to the Airport. I've stayed nearby last year so it was great seeing sites and places I knew so was very quick to find my way back onto princes Street in Edinburgh and all the shops and places to eat. Staff made me feel welcome and provided excellent service and made checking in and out a very quick and friendly service. I'm looking forward to returning to Edinburgh in the future and I will definitely be looking to come back to Mecure again in the future.

The only thing I noticed was there was two elevators on the ground floor by reception, one of which I accidentally used which was one that was meant to be used by staff but I didn't know until after I was returning to the hotel after being out. I only found out it was staff use only after I was already on my way to my floor. There was only one small sign in the elevator to say staff use only, but nothing outside the elevator to say it was staff use only. Apart from getting confused by the elevator everything else was amazing.

The location, friendly helpful staff, nice welcome on arrival, which reminded me of travel to Mexico, towel folded into an animal shape, Lindt chocolate on arrival, biscuits, decent brands of tea and coffee, big walk in shower, great breakfast, gym,. Lovely little guest welcome card from the housekeeping team. Local map given at reception. Luggage storage and check in on arrival before 3pm which was definitely appreciated.

The hotel is based in an excellent area with a short walk to the city centre and also Grassmarket. The hotel is quiet and the staff are helpful. The rooms are small but have everything that you need. Cleaning service comes in every day to make bed, sort towels etc. Our heating played up on the 3rd night however the receptionist kindly gave us a heater to plug into our room which was a brilliant help. Breakfast is ok, £15 per person is quite expensive but we had it on one morning and it filled us up for a good part of the day. We liked the idea that you have to use your room key to go up in the lift. It just meant you feel safe and only residents can come in and use the lifts.

We were on the 5th (top) floor and one thing we did notice was the noise from whatever heating systems must be on the roof of the hotel. There was a constant hum and it could be quite loud at times. Once you got over to sleep it was fine but if you woke during the night, it could possibly keep you awake.

Good value for the money. Pretty basic but OK place to stay. Standard modern room, clean bathroom with some minor traces of heavy use. Nothing special but good enough not to bother you during your stay. Good breakfast with many buffet options. You could easily assemble full Scottish breakfast, although the quality was good but not great. Still, overall good value and comfortable, decent localization is also a plus. The hotel is close to the Royal Mile, you can take a walk there. For more authentic dinner experience it is recommended to go out as there are many good options nearby, i.e. The Fox and Faun pub.

The hotel is bland, there is nothing making it stand out. Just bread and butter type of a place to stay. Well, places providing you with something special to remember design-wise often make you pay for it, so we’re not going to brag about the Mercure’s lack of vibes. Just a plain, comfortable hotel offering attractive pricing, so don’t expect anything more than that.

The rooms were well equipped, functional and very clean throughout, really good bed and super pillows, always a plus for a good nights sound sleep!. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice, fruit cereals, muffins, pancakes, juices, coffee & tea making. Close to Haymarket station, Usher Hall and Castle, Royal Mile, Waverley & Princess Street. Wonderful staff, very friendly and obliging.

WE thought when booking it was on a B&B basis but was room only basis. We took the offer of £15 per person breakfast and were very pleased in doing so because of all the breakfast choice. It set us up for the day!

Very nice clean room. It has a fridge that was great for keeping my beer and wine cold and a safety box. relaxing room. and the shower was amazing. Breakfast was out standing. Plenty variety for all the family. Best continental breakfast I've had in a long time. And I've stayed at lots of hotels worth every penny. Close to all amenities 3min walk to shops bars and restaurants. Secure carpark that is 2min walk round the corner from the hotel. discount from the hotel. Makes parking £11 for 24 hours total bargain. The staff are all nice and friendly and helpful. Very quite and amazing hotel. It doesn't look much from outside. But as soon as you get inside. What a secure and beautiful hotel. Will definitely be back. Even if it's for the breakfast 😋

Bed was a bit uncomfortable.(hard) but why complain when everything else is perfect

We stayed here on a girls trip to Edinburgh. Great location - just a short-ish walk back fro old town etc, which was a nice leg stretch. Rooms were lovely. Staff were amazing - all so friendly and really helpful. We actually got "stuck" in Edinburgh due to storm Eowyn, and a couple of the group got ill during our stay (not related to the hotel, BTW) and the staff were so helpful and accommodating. We can't thank you enough Mercure Edinburgh Haymarket team - you were excellent.

Room was slightly cold for my liking (though others in the group were fine with the temperature) but the staff did provide more quilts etc to make sure I was comfortable and warm.
