The hotel was perfectly located for us as we were in Edinburgh for a rugby match at Murrayfield. The room was comfortable, but small, the bed comfortable and it was very quiet. We had a room facing the back rather than onto the street. It was very handy having the bar downstairs for post match drinks and snacks and the staff were friendly.

The overhead shower is too big for the size of the shower cabinet but that’s a personal choice. It would be handy if the bar were open for full breakfasts but there were other options close by.

The Torfin was a very comfortable place for us to spend three nights on our UK trip. It’s in a great location, close to buses and walkable to trains, we even made the walk into Edinburgh city centre on an adventurous day! The bed was comfortable, the shower amazing and the food and drink at the pub downstairs was fantastic! Highly recommend for a friendly stay :)

At times we could hear the neighbours through the walls, but didn’t stop us being able to sleep.

Comfortable room, spotlessly clean. Staff were extremely nice and welcoming. Room was also ready earlier than check-in time. Bus stop nearby towards city centre and airport. Grocery shop nearby and a few options to eat as well (including the Torfin Pub). It was a pleasant stay. I would recommend it and stay here again.

Probably slightly pricey considering the location, however it is a great alternative if no availability closer to city centre with comparable prices.

The room was nicely decorated and very clean and tidy. Very handy for getting into the city centre and we also had amenities close by. We were worried we would have noise from the bar/grill downstairs bit it was very quiet, considering we were overlooking the main road. Bar staff were very pleasant and friendly.

Nothing to dislike, but be aware that this is very much an Inn, rather than a hotel. This was not a problem for us at all.

Property was very clean and they even had the room ready for an early check in. It was very easy to get to on the bus and super close to the hotel.

The restaurant is below the rooms, so you could hear the music later in the evening. Also it is right on a Main Street so there are bright lights and city traffic. Not super noticeable, but something to be aware of!

The room we stayed in was lovely, it was clean and tidy, the shower was good also quite strong, the view was not the best but we were in the middle of Edinburgh the staff were great and very helpful. The bar was really busy as it was rugby weekend the atmosphere was great it was full of banter before and after the match. Really friendly hotel.

The only down side was having to leave the hotel to go around the side to get to the rooms also breakfast was not til ten and it was only continental.

Gorgeous room.. fantastic shower, perfect location.. food and service in the restaurant was excellent. Perfect for attending Murrayfield as bus stop right out door takes you there, also an easy walk if the weather is good.

Can’t say anything negative, had a lovely stay. The fact it’s on a main road wasn’t a problem ( as others have said) and Im a light sleeper.

This was a great little place to stay. We needed accomodation for the final two nights on return to Edinburgh after touring the rest of Scotland, and frankly these were the best accommodations we had in the country. Staff was very accommodating,, room is completely updated, and although small, was very comfortable. Food in the restaurant was very good, parking was available next door, and advice from the barkeepers for breakfast was very good.

Not much, not elevator to second floor.

Friendly staff, good food on premises, very comfy bed.

Heating not on, and main light bulb not working. Quickly remedied. Shower has large overhead spray. Impossible not to get hair wet!

Beautiful room, amazing shower, comfy bed. Great having private entrance away from bar/restaurant. Staff were lovely and helpful. On a main route into the city so easy & quick commute in and out.

Could have benefitted from more pillows & coat hangers. Being on a main road, could hear the road traffic on the front facing bedroom (this may bother some people).
