The staff were lovely, pool was lovely and warm, the best sauna and steam room I've visited recently. The bas had a good selection, a few different cocktails would be great. The room was big, shower was amazing ! .

The parking was £7 per day despite me being an ALL member ( online states it should be cheaper ) the breakfast was £19.99 per person and not the best, luke warm food, hard sausages, not the best selection overall. Our bedroom was big but no sofa bed like we'd booked, had some dirt on the walls and stained bedding, something I'm guessing housekeeping just rushed past. Beds are OK not as comfy as other budget hotels.

A fantastic stay, cannot thank the staff enough for the very warm welcome, and all my needs were met. The location is great as you can jump on the tram which is 2 mins walk away and get into the city centre very cheaply. The rooms were nicely fitted and well looked after

Probably only two small things I could point out. One is the balcony door did not seem to shut or lock correctly, as the balcony area is shared this did present a small worry. And at night, as the location is near a busy road, you can still hear the hum of traffic, however I knew the location when I booked so was mostly prepared for this. Perhaps if the balcony door could be fully shut, the soundproofing would be better.

Nice beds, quiet room (despite the location), good shower, very clean. We enjoyed the pool, the sauna and the steam room too. Great location for the city and the airport with the train links and the tram connection. The location suited us brilliantly and it felt very safe walking from the tram stop to the hotel at night. It's a very short distance and well lit. The staff are nice and they looked after our bags for free, as we arrived well in advance of check-in time.

The shower drained very slowly (room 109). The hairdryer should have just had a normal on/off button, not an annoying one that needs holding down all the time. The door into the bathroom is a bit odd. A normal door that can be locked would be nicer. We didn't get breakfast because it was 19.95 per person, which is very expensive.

Excellent location - close to tram stop so very convenient for going into Edinburgh! Staff are always lovely and really went the extra mile for us this time with birthday balloons, a banner, a lovely card and special shortbread for my Husband!

One issue was the terrible seal on the window. What should have been double-glazing actually sounded like the window was open so we could hear the nearby busy road all night. Especially noisy first thing in the morning. Also the plumbing in the bathroom could do with some attention - rather unpleasant smells coming from the sink!

Restaurant, rooms

The bar closed at 10pm and asked to leave. Only seating available is in a cold foyer or to return your room which is unacceptable when you are with company The bar closing time was not conveyed during check in. This is ridiculous and not the standard you would expect from a 4 star hotel

Lovely hotel, facilities were great, especially the swimming pool. Perfect distance to the tram line and to shopping facilities opposite. Carparking onsite and a fantastic selection for breakfast. Dinner was also really lovely. The room was lovely and clean, and the bed was comfy.

The room was a bit small due to having a sofa bed pulled out for children but didn't cause too much issue. The bathroom door was a bit inconvenience being in two halves and having to shut them in a certain order for them to close. Not idea if on a family break rather than holidaying as a couple.

Fantastic hotel for the money. Second time we have stayed here. Easy access off the bypass and lots of parking although it had doubled to £8 since our last visit. Don’t be put off by the hotels distance from the city centre. There is a tram spot about 100 meters away which takes about 10 minutes to get into the centre of Edinburgh which is excellent. The swimming pool is the perfect size for for a quick dip or if you have small children. Staff are very polite and friendly. Will definitely stay again.

Nothing really. Maybe the cost of parking.

The general calm of the hotel environment

At a breakfast buffet, a staff member was unhappy when I attempted to pick cutlerries from where he had left them (I did not have any on my table, so I decided to help myself). He told me I should just ask next time in a not-so -friendly manner. I felt embarrassed, but I went on to apologise. At another time, my daughter needed to use the convenience, and I approached a staff member to find out if there was one around so we dont have to go all the way to the room. Her mannerism rather came across as though I was bothering her. Other than this, I had a great time.

The hotel is ideally situated near the motorway on the western outskirts of Edinburgh. There are good nearby transport links into the city centre, including the tram. Staff were always friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great - lots of choice. We also had an evening meal that was enjoyable. The shower was great, and the availability of air conditioning on warmer days is a useful facility.

There is some road traffic noise intrusion (which we're not used to) when leaving the window open, but this isn't too much of an inconvenience.
