I recently stayed 10 nights at the DoubleTree Hotel in Edinburgh and had an outstanding experience, thanks in large part to the front desk staff—particularly Bemin and the front desk manager, Tom. From the moment I arrived, I was always greeted with a warm smile and genuine hospitality. Both Bemin and Tom were consistently helpful, answering my questions and providing updates with patience and professionalism. What truly stood out was the way Bemin went above and beyond when I experienced a medical episode during my stay. He calmly and efficiently arranged for paramedics and an ambulance, ensuring I received the care I needed without delay. When I returned to the hotel from the hospital, Bemin kindly helped with my bags and organised a smooth room change to make things easier for me. His calm, kind, and attentive manner made a difficult experience far less stressful. I am so grateful for his support and would like to acknowledge his exceptional customer service. If he’s not already in a management role, I strongly encourage hotel leadership to recognise and reward him. Thanks to staff like Bemin and Tom, I would absolutely recommend this hotel to family and friends in a heartbeat. Their genuine care and professionalism made all the difference during my stay. It was my second stay at the Double tree. The first one was not the best but this time our stay was perfect. We were welcomed by a lovely lady, she gave us all information and we even received warm cookies. The room was clean, the beds were very very comfortable. The room is very calm, we were able to sleep with the window open even next to the airport. The breakfast was included but as we were leaving early to catch our flight we ha not the chance to have breakfast. It is easy to park at the hotel. The parking is charged but you have special prices. It is also very easy to come with your rented car and checkin to your room, then bring back your car at the rental station and come back by foot. The hotel is just a few minutes away by foot from the airport, car rental and Edinburgh tram station/bus. Bus shuttle is available to go to the airport for free. Perfect when you have to take a plane in the next day.

The floor in the bath room was a bit cracked next to the bath tub but nothing too bad.

Staff: really friendly staff, quick service, always there to answer questions! We especially want to thank Francesca from the front-desk for giving us a warm welcome. We got a free upgrade, which is always a nice to have! But even if this wasn't the case, the customer service is still great! Room: nice and spacious room, very clean, all amenities available, no sound of airplanes or other guests (so well insulated), very comfy bed and pillows, tasty selection of coffee pods. (10/10) Hotel: looks old from the outside, but inside it's actually modern, and our room was also very modern. Also great to have the option to order food until 11PM, certainly if you arrive later at the hotel like we did. (10/10) Location: great location if you need to catch your flight the next morning, 10 minutes walk to the airport. (10/10)

Everything was great. Can't speak about long stay or breakfast, because of our short stay of 9 hours.

I stayed here for a 1 night. It was close to the airport less than 10 mins walk. I actually walked to the airport couple of times to grab a meal or coffee from there as I didnt have meals in the hotel other than the breakfast. Room was clean and spacious. I also worked from the room using the free wifi and it worked perfectly. I used the gym in the evening which was quite good. It had all the machines and weights you need, so big thumbs up! The bathroom in the room was big and clean. They also provided all the required creams and lotions in the bathroom which I liked. Bed was big and comfy and had a good night's sleep. After checking out, my flight was in the evening so I stayed in the hotel and continued working in the lobby area. The staff was really friendly and stored my bags downstairs. There was plenty of space for me to use my laptop. I had a good trip and happy I stayed here.

The breakfast was not bad, but not too great either as there was not much choice, but still I enjoyed it.

We had a fabulous overnight stay at this hotel before a very early morning flight. We had a family room and it was perfect, with two big comfortable queen beds and a comfrotable sofa bed. The staff on reception were very helpful, and the staff in the restaurant were absolutely great and fun with the kids. The food was just what we were after. And the swimming pool was a totally brilliant plus, really good fun for using up our last holiday hours.

The shuttle service was very prompt, but it doesn't actually drop you right at the entrance door, leaving still a couple of minutes' walk with bags, which we weren't expecting. It looked as if this is the same for all buses, though, so nothing to be done about it.

Almost everything was perfect. It was so quiet and the blackout curtains were excellent. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was just as I like it. The breakfast was good; lots of choice, although the coffee from the machine wasn't hot enough. If I could complain about anything at all, it would be that the hairdryer cable wasn't long enough for the mirror outside the bathroom door. I couldn't find the shuttle bus and instead of searching up and down the airport, I decided to walk. No big deal; it wasn't far and certainly not the hotel's fault. The airport is poorly signposted.

Coffee could have been hotter. Minor complaint!

We only stayed from 4:00PM till 4:00AM but it was a good experience. The front desk was very helpful and friendly, the complimentary cookie was delicious. We even got a 2 hour free ticket for our car before we needed to return it, I really appreciated that. We got a room in the new(or renovated?) wing which was very quiet and clean, the size was very good. The hotel is next to the airport and the car rental services, it's easy to return the car and walk to the hotel or the other way around. There's a free bus service to the airport but when we traveled (4:00 AM) it was very busy (at least 20 persons waiting). Fortunately the airport is a less then 10 minutes walk so we walked, which was faster then the bus (I think).

The locker room, sauna and steam room definitely need a makeover. In the locker room most of the lockers where broken (no door or no lock) or the locks didn't work. It would be better to get a key at the spa reception and return it when you leave. The sauna was way to hot for the very small room and the steam room had not much steam and a lot of broken tiles. The tv wasn't smart, for the few hours we stayed no problem but would make the experience even better. Per night price is very high, I know that Edinburgh is expensive but this was exceptionaly expensive.

All staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Given warm cookies at reception, which were delicious. Beds very comfortable, room had what we needed and complimentary extras were available from reception ie toothbrush, toothpaste etc. Free shuttle to airport was efficient. The restaurant food was very tasty. Pool and steam room was enjoyable and free of charge.

The shower had a slow drain, so started to fill up on use. The room was a little noisy but that was because it overlooked the delivery entrance. The locker in the pool area didn't open with the code and had to go and ask staff to open but was not a big problem. Food was quite expensive. None of this would stop me from staying here again though.

Hotel is 5-minute walk from the airport terminal. Food was not bad. Room was spacious and comfy.

We were advised that the airport shuttle came by at intervals of 15 to 30 minutes, with no set schedule. However in the early morning my partner had already been out the front a couple of times smoking, prior to our checking out. He observed the shuttle stopping at the hotel across the road but it never came to Doubletree. He had seen several families give up waiting and walk to the terminal, which is what we did. Fortunately it wasn’t raining.

We liked everything about the hotel, the warm inviting reception area /bar/restaurant and the excellent swimming pool, sauna and steam room. I appreciated the eco friendly responsible approach to towel use but I feel you could also put emphasis on the use of excess water. The size and layout of the room was great. The food in the restaurant was very good and the romanian waitress was excellent, warm friendly and helpful with the menu Exceptionally near to the airport via foot and the free shuttle bus was ideal with suitcases

We both felt the room could improve with a central strong light, especially for the older generation who often have sight issues. It was difficult at times to see things that had fallen on the floor or to find things in our suitcases.
