The room was clean and tidy. It matches the budget room expectations, Staff was helpful and friendly. The location is good as it is near the airport and it is easily reachable by public transportation (Tram). it was easy to check in and check out. we have also left our luggage until the check in time which was 15:00. it is also close to the city center by tram. So in short, location was good, Clean and nice room and has everything needed for a short stay.

I have not noticed something significant that disturbed us during our stay. Everything was okay and nice. Also the staff showed the max. level of support and understanding. However the check in time was bit late at 15:00 but we were able to leave our luggage in the hotel.

The room was the perfect size for an overnight stay for me, my husband, and 14 yo daughter. We especially appreciated having an AC unit in the room. The location is super close to the airport and made it convenient for a 7am flight. They have complimentary tea, coffee, and juice in the lobby. Also, the small bar and 24/7 pizza option is nice. In the lobby, was dinnerware and a microwave for warming up leftovers.

Everything was clean, but the lobby bathrooms could use freshing up. The women's bathroom was out of toilet paper and needed attending to. The cleaning log on the wall showed that it had been over a day since serviced.

There's a lot to like about this Ibis property on the tidy outskirts of Edinburgh and next to the airport, although you would not know that given the hotel's calm and quiet. Rooms are small but bright and exceedingly functional; mine offered a transverse bunk bed atop the main one which is perfect for couples with a child or if you are traveling as a trio. The hotel is popular with outdoorsy types; i.e. hikers and kayakers, due to its proximity to the natural wonders of Scotland (including Pentland Park 12 miles away, where I treated myself to an impromptu hike on my drive back to London). But there were plenty of urban tourists and business folk like me in residence too -- the property is for everyone. Carpark-wise there is a £5-per-day one literally outside the front door and so for guests who arrive by their own vehicle it is straightforward 15-minute trip to downtown Edinburgh (where hotels cost 2x what this Ibis does). And for those like me who work for NatWest, or have business with NatWest, you can literally walk to its leafy Gogarburn world headquarters next door. Wifi is sharp and high-fidelity while the lobby breakfast is basic but tasty; water is piping hot with good 24-hour pressure, including mornings. Lastly, the staff were lovely as I got to meet all 3 shifts during my 2-night stay. They went beyond the call of duty, with deputy managers Ewa and Irina even resolving a reservation error in my favor, one of my own doing wherein I had accidentally booked for the wrong bank holiday Monday in May. Very few hotels and even fewer chains will do that when a guest mismanages the non-refundable selection within Booking.com. So give these guys your custom the next time you’re in Edinburgh and want something clean and bright without the commotion of George Street or the Castle District (but with quick and easy access to both of these tourist draws). Even their keys are cool!

Honestly there is nothing that comes to mind -- I made this reservation last-minute (without my usual due diligence and therefore some minor trepidation) but the stay way exceeded my experience, and that was before the considered grace the management team gave me on my erroneous reservation on the wrong bank holiday Monday in May.

It was ideally located for the events I was attending over the weekend. The room was compact but had everything I needed in it. The thermostat in the room was adjustable which is a huge plus for someone who is always cold. The bed was comfortable and clean. Heard quite a bit of noise from other rooms whilst in the corridor but once inside my room, I couldn't hear a thing meaning I had a great sleep during my stay. The free tea and coffee plus facilities to cook your own food in the lounge/dining area is a lovely extra.

The water pressure in the shower was poor and I was advised that I'd be placed on the 1st floor as requested due to not being able to use lifts which I wasn't so that made getting up and downstairs with a heavy suitcase cumbersome. Otherwise, no complaints.

The hotel location is very convenient: there is a tram stop nearby, so you can have easy access to the city center as well as to the airport. The room was clean and well equipped for students' stay: the shower cabin is located directly in the room, which is a bit odd but usual for ibis budget hotels, as well as a sink. The air conditioning is working well, which allows to heat up the room a bit in winter. Mu for s and I enjoyed out 3 night stand there.

The hairdryer and kettle in the room could very a nice addition. Remark: Free tea and coffee are provided on the first floor, and you can bring the cups to your room and then return them back, which is quite nice. The automatic light in the toilet is unnecessary feature, since if you go to the loo at night, the light proceeds to be on extra few minutes which if there would be a usual switch, it will allow to reduce electricity consumption and remove discomfort of other people who could be woken up by the light.

The room was slightly small but adequate for the three of us – myself, my wife, and our son. The hotel is situated outside the city center, but there is convenient tram access to downtown. I purchased a 5-day family pass at the airport for £55, which allowed for unlimited travel during our stay. Complimentary tea, coffee, and water were available 24/7 in the lobby. The staff were very accommodating, and the room was not only clean but also serviced daily. There is a large supermarket located directly across from the hotel, offering very reasonable prices.

The weather was cold, and when I turned on the air conditioner, it initially blew warm air but then switched to cold, then warm again. The air conditioner fluctuated between blowing cold and warm air. I had little issue about heating.

So we came up to Edinburgh for the Xmas markets and to see this lovely city as had never been to Edinburgh before. Because we were flying and didn’t want to hire car we used the tram system. Took tram straight from airport to hotel. Then used the trams to get ourselves into city centre every day . If you want to be in heart of city this Hotel isnt for you as 7 miles out . But trans go every 7 mins. Breakfast was included and it’s continental so cereals , yogurts pastries , cheese , ham toast , butter , jams etc . They do have a small bar in the evenings and offer 12” pizzas . People also ordered just eat takeaways

Hotel is positioned between the airport and city center and close to the tram station (Gyle Center), so it's ideal to leave the luggage there (if you arrive before check in) and carry on with your trip to the city/pick up the luggage on your way to the airport. However if you plan a tram ride to the airport for an early flight, you should check the tram working hours. Currently they start running around 5:30 am. We had to leave for the airport before 5am and the kind receptionist ordered a taxi for us. Room was small and included 3 beds (one queen size - very comfortable and a bunk bed above), few shelves, hangers, a chair, toilet and shower. You should know that you step out of the shower straight into the room, which might get a bit awkward if you travel with friends. The blowdryer is available at the reception. Breakfast was basic. Toast, ham, cheese, jams, croissants and cereal along with coffee, tea and juices. It's a budget hotel as the name says, but we were around all day so shower, sleep and breakfast was everything we needed and received at the Ibis budget hotel. Would definitely come again.

Every guest receives one XL towel. I kind of missed the small ones.

We booked this hotel because it was cheap and relatively close to Edinburgh city centre. The hotel was lovely and cosy. My fiancéé and I don't have any shame towards/with each other, so having the shower and toilet pretty much in the bedroom was not an issue for us at all. As regards cleanliness, staff, facilities - all fantastic!

It is about half an hour by car or public transport to get to the city centre, so that's worth bearing in mind. Depending on the length of your stay, it might be a bit much. I can also imagine that if you're travelling with a friend or parent, for instance, that the smaller double rooms are not exactly private enough; the toilet was literally behind a cubicle door, and the shower behind a glass one, just in the room. We didn't mind that at all (actually found it cosy), but if you don't want to see your mother in the shower...

When I choose the property I knew it was located far from the city, which I dont mind, as the transport links (Tram) it is just by hotel, £5 daily ticket for trams and busses or £10.50 for daily family ticket. The property was well maintained and continental breakfast was included in a price. Actually very nice hotel with comfy beds, great for price comparing to other hotels. The staff was friendly and rooms were clean.

The room is tiny, so wouldn’t recommend for long stays or with person who you dont know very well as toilet isn’t very private and there is no separate bathroom, just shower in the room, so my partner was a bit struggling to take a shower when our 8year old daughter was in a room, you literally go out from the shower to a room, sink is also in the room. Not much space for clothes and no place to hang wet towels after showering.
