All the staff were very friendly, the facilities (including the grounds) excellent, the bedroom spacious and clean, and the food was well cooked and tasty. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

Trams into the city were fantastic but getting to and from the tram stop, which was a reasonable distance from the hotel, needed forward planning. The hotel shuttle helped but maybe a couple more early morning (additional 9am, 10am shuttle) would be good for guests wanting to explore the city and greater advertisement of the taxi details for the return transfer with a pre-negotiated hotel fare for night time transfer would be a useful addition.

The staff were lovely and very accommodating, had an amazing breakfast. The rooms were great, they clean and comfy, the bathroom was clean, shower was warm. We got back from a gig and it was lovely to be able to chill in the bar afterwards. Staff were just lovely, they made the stay special.

My only, very small point, was our hotel room looked out onto the back of the hotel where the staff would have their breaks and workers were building BBQs in the morning. It was not a problem (and definitely not a complaint) but it meant that the net curtains were kept drawn and windows shut, mainly so we didn't scare them ! Just something to be aware of. Our daughters had a fab rooms with views of the garden, so curtains and windows were open.

The restaurant, the spa, and the grounds are absolutely top notch. The original structure (an old mansion?) is stunning. The room was very clean and comfortable. Our bell hop was incredibly gracious.

The parts of the hotel that were additions (look like two separate additions) to the original mansion are a bit maze-like. Meaning that it is a bit difficult to navigate. At one point I entered the hotel from the direction of the spa. I got lost and asked the cleaning staff for help. THEY even had trouble explaining to me how find my room. It took me about a full 5 minutes to get back to my room.

Very lovely property with wonderful breakfast and good restaurant. We enjoyed being out of the hubbub of Edinburgh at the end of a 10 day trip in the UK. You need a car to stay here as you must drive to the nearby park and ride to take the tram to Edinburgh. Very convenient to the airport, only about a mile and a half away. Enjoyed the heated pool, sauna and hot tub. Would have liked another day here to just chill at the property as there are walking paths we did not have time to use.

Front desk staff was a bit cold when we first arrived but warmed up eventually.

Very warm comfortable rooms and common space. Family was big enough for the three of us. Nice with coffee, tea etc in the room and the kids enjoyed the milk and cookies delivered to the room. The hotel is located in lovely grounds with a nice walk. Also quite ok location to walk 15 mins to catch bus into central Edinburgh. My son loves planes so great to be on the flight path! The staff at reception and who took us to our room warm and friendly The breakfast spread is good and I appreciated the plant-based options

The staff at bar and restaurant could have more training. The food at dinner also took a long time- 40 plus mins which is too long with kids- but once it came it was good Limited pool times for kids and children can’t use the Jacuzzi

Every part of the stay felt worth the time & money. The spa was an excellent experience, with easy access from the hotel. Additionally the room was very nice and bright, with an extremely nice & warm feel to both the room & bathroom. The bathroom and room felt very luxurious & I would definitely come here to stay again with my partner. The dinner in the Brasserie was some of the nicest food I've had in a restaurant in this country in a long time. I've been to Japan and had duck there, the duck I had on Saturday night honestly was comparable. All credit to the fresh ingredients and skills of the chefs to put together some delightful plates. I finished my meal with a lovely Old Fashioned, which I order in most places I go, and was extremely smooth and well made. The evening meal and drinks were a real highlight to our stay at the hotel. I would come back just for the restaurant food alone.

The view of the car park seems to be unfortunately a common characteristic among the 3 floors of rooms we were in & amongst, especially considering the beautiful scenery that surrounds the place, I feel the decision to have most of the rooms looking at nothing but the car park, is definitely something that detracts from the place. Not really a nice thing to look at in any location. The restaurant experience of the food and its decor or table set up, didn't quite feel like it matched - with the food by far exceeding the restaurant look & feel, unfortunately.

The staff were super friendly, especially Stephanie (who gave excellent wine recommendations and chatted with us for a while over dinner…excellent customer service!) and Muir (who was very polite, funny and provided everything we asked for) The bed was exceptionally comfy (I slept the best I have in a good while!) The TV at the end of the bath was a big bonus. The food was delicious, all our meals there were 10/10 Having Clyde the Highland Cow greet us in our room…we had to take our own one home with us.

Everything was excellent, no complaints at all.

Lovely setting. Staff very friendly and helpful, and Porter actually refused a tip! One of our party had a sudden family bereavement the day we arrived and staff were patient, understanding and helpful in cancelling one of the 3 rooms we had booked and one of the treatments at no cost.

Lunch and evening meal were just ok so we were a bit disappointed. Menu unclear about suitability of food for vegetarians/vegans. And when asked, staff didn’t know either, although they were happy to check with kitchen. Staff also unsure re ingredients of other items on menu. To be fair I think they said it was a new menu they weren’t familiar with. I had a Salt and oil scrub in spa and think 25 minutes was not enough time for the therapist to do a thorough job or for me to relax. Other friends felt the same about their 25 minute treatments. I think £60 for 25 minutes is quite dear. Disappointed that spa building was short walk away from main hotel building.

Friendly staff, excellent food (breakfast was extensive and delicious), beautiful house and grounds. The staff were all very helpful and there was always someone around if we had any questions. The interior was clean and everything was well maintained. The pool and spa was absolutely exceptional and was the highlight of our stay. They gifted us a little box of chocolates too to congratulate us on our engagement which was a lovely touch. Thank you so much!

Very little not to like.

The moment I arrived I was shocked at the beauty of this place ….. As a solo traveller touring Scotland for a long 2 weeks this hotel for my final night here and was by far thee most beautifully perfect end too an amazing trip everything from the staff too the food too the spa facilities I think I found my new favourite place in the world I highly recommend the steak and the hydro pool oh and the bedrooms… well they speak for them self Thankyou for having me x
