Booked all 4 rooms at The Ship and it was absolutely perfect. As it was a separate side door from the restaurant and it had a lovely little communal room that the bedrooms led to it really felt like you had your own house. Everything was spotlessly clean, very comfortable with a nice homely atmosphere. No hot breakfast but you could get a full Scottish fry up next door. A fantastic weekend.

Wonderful staff! Very kind even though we were running a bit late coming from Glasgow. We missed out on dinner both nights, which is a shame bc the restaurant had great reviews. We lucked out with an on street parking spot next to the inn, so we didn’t not move our car the two nights we were there. We took the bus into Edinburgh- convenient bus stop right across the street. Nice, clean quiet room. Sometimes trivia night or darts in the pub below the rooms - but never too loud. So glad we stayed outside of Edinburgh. We brought fish and chips back from a nearby place and enjoyed it in the common area. There was cereal, milk and juice and wonderful bread, butter and jam for toast in the common area. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Excellent location. The accommodation is above a Pub and Restaurant. There is either 4 or 5 rooms and this was our 2nd stay. Both rooms we have had have been large, roomy with a large walk in shower. The rooms are comfortable and warm Outside the rooms is a communal area with fridge with various types of milk and butter in it, a kettle and toaster, bread, breakfast cereals etc.

The entrance door to the accommodation is very heavy and sometimes can be left unlocked as residents haven't closed it properly on either entrance or exiting the property. Some signage reminding residents to check the door is properly closed could be useful.

We had a very nice one night stay at the Ship Inn. Everything was very modern and the decor was to a high standard. The shower was exceptional. The communal area was fantastic. It felt more like we were staying in an apartment. It was lovely to be able to make your own toast in the morning. Very nice bread, fruit juices, cereal etc were all provided. Everything was ideal for our needs and the location was great for us attending a function nearby. We heard very good things about the food at The Ship Inn but did not try it on this occasion.

Nothing. Only small detail might have been checking in could have felt more welcoming.

We received a warm welcome from the staff. The room was very spacious, with very comfortable beds and a good size bathroom, with a good shower and nice towels. We didnt use the restaurant, but the bar was also friendly. The location was good for us, being quite near to QMU. We arrived quite late and managed to park ok on the street. Other reviewers have mentioned problems with traffic noise, but we were right on the main road and had our window slightly open and didn't get disturbed by it.

A real shame not having a proper breakfast - especially for the price. It was hotel prices for a semi-self catering accommodation. I appreciate this is made clear when booking, but it really lets it down - I was at least expecting a decent coffee maker but only instant coffee was on offer and there was no fresh fruit. We were woken quite early by other guests using the communal area, so we cut our losses and headed off. I can recommend Miros Cafe on the main High Street for an excellent Scottish breakfast and great coffee!

Bit of a walk from the centre, but nice building. Friendly bar downstairs and enjoyed a lovely dinner in the restaurant. Comfy beds and lovely fresh bedding in the room. Excellent shower in nicely refurbished bathroom. Liked the shared kitchen area idea.

Room was very warm and opening the windows made it noisy and a too bit bright to sleep (mid June, so only dark for a few hours). Wasn't an exsessively warm night either, so must be a struggle sleeping int the height of summer. A hairdryer would have been a handy addition. Loaf of Warburtons left in the shared kitchen was 5 days out of date.

Lovely bright airy bedroom with tea/coffee facilities provided in the room. Nice size ensuite, shower was fab. The communal breakfast/living area with help yourself breakfast was ideal. Spotless clean. Situated across the road from Lidl if needed anything. On bus route to QMU approx 5 mins by bus, where my daughter started college. Would highly recommend.

We stayed in a twin room - one of the mattresses was a bit indented/sunken down the middle from use, resulting in a poor sleep for my relation, possibly needs to be replaced.

Love the location, just across from the beach and a bus stop right outside your door. It was super easy to get around.. loved music at night and cheerful staff always around. Ellie in particular was very helpful getting us checked in and helped us with our luggage. 💕

Honestly it was great. Ran out of hot water a couple of times but with a full house of visitors it was understandable. Bistro food was excellent. Loved their scotch eggs!

The location, staff, and cleanliness were perfect. Both the onsite pub and restaurant were very nice and also fun! The common area and kitchen was an unexpected but wonderful surprise.

We have only 2 "complaints." (1) The shower drain had a slight odor, like there wasn't a trap in the plumbing. We solved this by draping the bath mat over it when we left and went to bed. (2) One of the twin mattresses was much softer than the other and sagged in the middle creating that hammock effect.

The Ship inn was deceiving as it had 2 restaurant and a Sports bar which I was not expecting. The accommodation was very good and very comfortable. It had a kitchen area to make drinks. There was cereal, bread, preserves, milk, butter, fruit, teas and coffee. The staff were very nice and helpful thank you. Very close to local transport.

The only problem was it didn't have it own parking, which was a bit difficult at times. Apart from no parking everything was good
