I arrived at 00h, and all the necessary information was given to me beforehand in order to enter the building and go to my room. The room was clean and tidy, with a coffee machine. A very good point is that there is a small courtesy breakfast, with some food (fruits, cereal bars, milk), and this is veeery good considering that we woke up early to go up the Arthur's Seat. It takes around 45 minutes to reach the city centre, by foot. However, there is a bus that stops very close to the house, and it passes regularly. You can also walk around 7 minutes, which will take you to a road with plenty of options. From this house, we are able to access Arthur's Seat from another entrance, which made it a very good point for us. Instructions for the checkout were also clearly given. In terms of price, I can say that it was way more advantageous when compared to other, more centralized hotels.

We had a great 3-day stay at the Brae Guest House as a family of three. The room was clean, comfortable, and just right for our needs. The location was very convenient, with a bus stop right outside and a Morrisons supermarket just behind the guest house. The neighbourhood felt safe and quiet, which made our stay even more relaxing. The hosts were friendly and made us feel welcome throughout. It was a pleasant and hassle-free experience, and we’d definitely recommend it to others looking for a simple, comfortable place to stay.

The room itself was perfect for our stay, but if we had to mention one thing, it would be that there was slightly too much furniture. Reducing it a bit could make the space feel more open and easier to move around, especially for a family.

We liked the location more than I anticipated. To get to the city centre we would take a nice refreshing walk right around or through the Holyrood Park which took about 45 minutes, which we found was an excellent way to start and end a day of exploration. Beds in our room were comfortable as was the shower, which had a temperature selection knob. For a place to crash after a busy day it was perfect.

The proprietors were very friendly and accommodating. This was not a hotel, but a Guest House, so it has that kind of homey feel. It was only a 20 minute walk to the beach, which I highly recommend, especially for lunch and a stroll. Holyrood Park was about 10 minutes away. The shower was hot, and the sunroom was a great place to spread out when your family is sleeping. The area was very quiet--I don't think that I would have liked to stay in the center of town due to the commotion.

The place is a bit far out from the center of town. If you want to be in the thick of things, you might be a bit disappointed.

It would be better if the blanket was in a duvet cover, not on the sheet. The extractor fan in the bathroom hums for 45 minutes after being turned off.The pillows on the bed are very small. Despite all the small inconveniences, it is very cozy and homely there, clean, and we want to go back there again.

Short walk from bus stop, multiple busses going to city centre. Beds were okay, can do with some new pillows. Room and beds were clean Overall stay was good value for money!

Room 2 has a bathroom that says 'private' on the door next to it. Quite fustrating having people going to the toilet/shower with a very loud extractor fan, very often. Did mention to host and it seemed to be a bit quieter. Drain in shower was blocked, but easy to fix. Need some hooks in the room for hanging towels and jackets.

Was not far from main town . Bus stop right outside off guest house . Number 44 if anyone staying like to know . Meet the house keeper in morning vert friendly and asked if we needed anything and everything was ok . Very warm comfortable place . Basic but just what we needed . And very affordable on where the location is . Had everything we needed in our stay and bonus having a fridge .

Perfect family stay! We stayed at Brae Guest House during our family trip to Edinburgh and everything was wonderful. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bus stop is right in front of the property, and it’s super easy to get to the city center. It’s a quiet, safe, and cozy place – ideal for families. If we visit again, we’ll definitely stay here. Highly recommended!

Hazim was very good. He sent clear instructions as to how to check in, wifi etc, and would reply quite soon if I sent him any issues by text. Having the all-day snacks downstairs was really appreciated as we were out most of the day visiting, and so we were able to snack on something once we got back. It was very cold (we went in November), but he turned on the heating straight away. The location is good, there is a bus stop right outside and it's not far from the centre. We were able to leave our bags in the morning (we arrived towards 10am) and then went out to visit the city.

There are coffee and tea facilities in the rooms but none downstairs. It would have assisted to have coffee and tea downstairs to have with the cereal. A microwave downstairs would also be great. The double bed was small (my mother almost falls off one night) and there was a group of girls who were very noisy. The sink was half blocked in our room, which wasn't great. I reported it but I guess there was no one available to come fix it as it was the same when we came back in the evening.

The Brae is conveniently located right next to a bus stop with a frequent service that runs all day. It is presented beautifully with lovely hanging flower baskets either side of the door. Access was simple via the key safe and the on the go breakfast was delightful! The bed was SO comfy I wanted to bring it home with me! On arrival we were presented with a little breakfast table, made up of some muffins and fruit for the morning and were greeted by the host who was polite and friendly. He made the stay nice and he was easily approachable about any problems!

The only ‘bad’ (don’t like to use that expression as it wasn’t massively bad just more annoying!) was the shower head wouldn’t stay in the holder!
