Fantastic location. The apartments are spacious, clean, comfortable and well stocked. Staff are friendly and it was reassuring to know that the reception is staffed 24/7 just in case we needed any help. Highly recommend Holyrood Aparthotel if you’re looking for a comfortable, convenient and clean stay in Edinburgh.

The exterior of the building is quite ugly and we doubted our decision when we first arrived. But once we checked into the apartment, we were very happy with our choice.

the kitchen was very good, it had a washing machine, oven, dish washer, a microwave and small appliances. so it was a great place to stay for like 2 weeks. the location was more or less central. I stayed in the 5th floor so it was quiet but there was some noise in the weekends.

probably because the room was located at the far end of the hallway, the wifi was horrible, it kept getting disconnected. also it would be nice if the electrical sockets had usb sockets in them. travelling in the winter, the room was cold despite the AC working.

Great location for the royal mile, Arthur seat, Holyrood palace, castle etc. 15mins from Tram line if needed otherwise 20 mins walking distance from edinburgh waverley station. apartment was spacious, and facilities were good. perfect for families! Staff was really friendly - Daniel was superb!

They updating the building from top to bottom it seems - our apartment needed updated and modernised. the lighting not so great, it still seemed quite dark with all the lights on. we had floor level apartment so if you open the blinds everyone can see into the rooms- they should do screen privacy windows for those level apartment windows to allow blinds to be open but nobody to be able to see inside.

The location is perfect. Virtually located on the royal mile. With a tesco express less than a minutes walk. I couldn't have asked for more.. The apartments are nice with all updated facilities. Check in and check out was seamless.

Not being able to pay in cash, they only accept credit cards. And something that bothers me a lot is that 15 minutes before 11am check-out time, they opened me 2 times without hitting the cleaning service. Absolutely unpleasant

Great location, walkable to everywhere, right by Holyrood park. Exceptionally clean, lovely apartment.

The gym was closed which wasn’t communicated at booking or after or at check in. Only when I asked at reception during the stay. At checkout we were 15 mins late leaving the room as I had a small child & my elderly father who is on 2 walking sticks & not very mobile so takes a while to encourage to move and won’t be rushed. The staff started knocking on the door and when I explained we’d be out in a few minutes was quite rude. Yes we were a little late vacating the room but I’ve never been spoken to by hotel staff like that before. All the staff had otherwise been so lovely

We loved the space and room to relax after spending nights in other cramped hotel rooms in other towns. The location was ideal and close to everything. The breakfasts were yummy and it was nice to eat in your room worh real plates and not to have to get dressed to go downstairs as with other hotels.

The elevator was pretty slow Also the rooms have no air conditioning so it can be hot at night if its a hot day. Not really too big a deal because we are getting the European experience as most places do not have ac. We did the standard 2 bedroom and it fit our family of 4 nicely. This was the non renovated space. It was nice enough for us.

The very helpful, friendly and unfussy staff. Kitchen very well supplied, though towel material unhelpfully unabsorbent. Was surprised and delighted by food laid in, sorry I didn't use more of it.

I didn't like the noise of the ventilator in the bathroom, but turned it off at night with the help of the soup ladle's long handle, and on again in the morning, and that was fine. Small details: a peg to hang a coat in the hallway and, especially, a shelf for toiletries in the shower would make a big difference.
