Good size room with all the amenities you need when traveling long distance. There was plenty of space to house 2 large suitcases and two carry on bags without the room looking like a tornado hit and still had plenty of room to walk around. Absolutely excellent location.

The dining room is in a windowless basement. While ok for breakfast, I could not imagine eating there at any other time. Also staff not accommodating. On our last day we had to leave before breakfast which was included We went downstairs to get a take out coffee, and we were told not possible. . It was almost 7, but they were rigid on that. Paris would not be happy with that.

Location wins hands down close to the Station, city centre and Castle The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, even had Haggis for breakfast The room was very nice and very comfortable The air-conditioning unit super quiet and worked extremely well. (Room 529)

The room starting to show signs of ware eg. the headboards worn with people leaning back on them. The Air conditioning, because of the high ceiling the cleaners are unable to clean the accumulated dust above the vent. Maybe angel the vent down instead of up could sole this

Breakfast was excellent, friendly staff and nicely presented food. Unfortunately there was building work going on and while this wasn’t much of an issue, my daughters were a bit startled by a workman on the scaffolding outside our bedroom window. Overall the staff were extremely helpful and we would definitely return. Our return train home was cancelled and we were forced to stay another night. The reception staff bent over backwards to help us and a room was prepared. This turned out to be a beautiful room with a lovely view over the city.

Apart from a sticky bathroom door in our first room 521 everything was fine.

The location is brilliant. The staff are amazing, polite, and helpful. Breakfast has plenty to choose from, and it's clean.

The fact that work is still being done to the building and inside the hotel made it feel a bit claustrophobic and took away that feeling when you walk in to a Hilton. We booked 4 nights, Deluxe Double Room with Two Double Beds but the room we were given had like a mini corridor which took away from the space as a result we found a bit too crowded for us ( 2 adults, 17 year old and 7 year old) 3 large suitcases and 2 carry on trolleys. My sister booked the same, but their room was without this mini corridor and much bigger. I didn't take photos as the room after the first night was messy, and the building had scaffolding outside, inside they have gypsum board covering the work areas.

The hotel had a location that could not be beat. It was just a short walk to The Royal Mile - could not get closer. The staff was amazing and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

There was construction on the hotel itself. We were a group of 6 - 3 couples. I didn't hear any construction whatsoever, however, another couple was hearing banging at 7 a.m. from construction. The lobby is under construction so I would have loved to see what the original lobby looked like.

The breakfast was very good. A nice buffet with good choices and omletes from the kitchen if you would like. The room was spacious and the welcome chocoaltes were so sweet. Short walk to the train station and a 10 minute walk to so much.

The shower, only the half glass so water gets all over. The water pressure was ok. We kept asking for an additional towel and housekeeping kept taking them and not replacing them. Did not know of the construction going on in and around the hotel at time of booking

Lovely clean room. Perfect location. Breakfast was amazing with so much choice. Can see why it's 27pp. Staff friendly, miss the xmas tree by the large staircase because of renovation, but understand things need to be done.

Lifts were a nightmare as one was out for maintenance, so sometimes waiting 10 minutes as staff were having to use both lifts too for towel trolleys, etc. Toilets by restaurant were disgusting, I went in just before we checked out, and bins were overflowing with Tissues, no toilet roll in one, and the other had a soaking wet toilet roll on the floor. Obviously, toilets are not checked regularly as they were in a bit of a state. Not what you would expect from a Hilton hotel. Even if they are undergoing a renovation.

The hotel is perfectly situated in easy walking distance of the main attractions and all of the meeting points for tours. It’s right by the train station so ideal if you are taking the train to Edinburgh. Our room was lovely with a really nice upgraded bathroom. Staff are super-friendly.

There is some construction work going on so only two working lifts and the entrance area is clearly a temporary arrangement, but none of this impacted on our stay.

The location is pretty central

There are building works on the outside, obviously there are scaffolds blocking the view

Spacious, very clean excellent room, hotel location ideal.

The only item that wasn't 100% were the eggs at breakfast. The poached eggs on the benedict were cold and the fryed eggs were rubbery, such a shame because on the whole the breakfast was great and the staff were attentive. The view wasn't great due to the scaffolding that is up at present, possibly a little harsh to deduct marks for this but it would have been nice to know of the building works prior to the stay.
