For a hostel, it's remarkably clean. The kitchen and common area are pretty nice and lively, and they offer free walking tours and whisky tastings in their own bar. There's a locker for your things that you lock with a personal code, and it's pretty easy to climb into the pods. Bathrooms and showers are big and clean.

Mixed dorms. There should be an option to have female/male only dorms. I got stuck with three guys in the dorm that made a snoring competition during the night.

Excellent location, very central on the royal mile. Close to shops, main attractions, and bus tours. Very helpful staff. Very good breakfast.

Only 2 washers and 1 functional dryer (out of 2) for the whole place. Squeaky floors even when we try to be quiet. In general the bathrooms are clean but many times housekeeping falling behind.

Location was outstanding. Staff were excellent Female only room of 10 quiet - we were all asleep by 11pm Pods comfortable - slept very well Security and safety excellent Great showers

Not much really. I had travelled from Australia for two nights and did, thankfully, pack a weekend bag for use for the two night which was essential when I saw the size of the room with no floor space to have opened my case if needed. Lockers were also small and only held hand luggage with suitcase having to be left out with everyone else’s Room felt very safe so that was fine, but lack of floor space was at times challenging.

It's astonishing how lovely all of their staff are! Very kind, respectful and helpful at all times. Special shout out to Janna and Leighton for the extra help. The hostel includes a Bistro which has great value for price. The cleaners are amazing, the bathrooms were always impressively clean in comparison to the amount of guests. My Pod was relatively wide and had everything it needed including a small shelf. The location is perfect - in the middle of the royal mile and only 10 Minutes from Waverly. I was over all very happy with my stay and would book this hostel again!

The only downside at the moment is, that there is no common room or guest kitchen available. As a guest you can stay in the space of the bistro without having to consume, which is nice. But an actual common room with a couch, games etc. would be even better. But I belive that they are currently building something like this! Due to the lack of an actual common room it's rather hard to connect with other travellers. Because Edinburgh is very expensive people who wouldn't usually stay in a hostel are guests here as well. Therefore the atmosphere isn't very hostel-ish. But those are small critiques, as I absolutely loved my stay.

I've stayed in a lot of hostels across the world and have never been super impressed with European hostels, but this one far and away exceeded my expectations! The location is absolutely prime; you cannot get better, as it's right in the middle of the Royal Mile, two seconds away from St. Giles' Cathedral and within 10m walking distance of a lot of the major sights, including Edinburgh Castle. The energy around this area is always very high and walking out the door every day, it was great to be right in the middle of the action immediately. I stayed in a pod, which was very comfortable - the bed itself was pleasant and the privacy curtain was a blessing, as many European hostels seem to think it's not necessary. The room itself was very clean as well - the whole hostel was kept up well and they are consistent about their cleaning (as I stumbled across their pleasant cleaning staff several times lol). The first floor includes their restaurant and the ease of access to a hot breakfast at a relatively decent price made the difference. Many, many activities which makes it easy to meet people and offers fun options if you want to have something to do. They also offer a lot of input if you have questions about what to do or see, as well as recs for different tours. Every single employee I met there was friendly and helpful. No issues with wifi and all of their tech set-ups (room codes, locker codes, etc.) all worked without issues. Also their bathrooms were impressive - the showers and toilets had decent space, which you always want. Laundry facilities were an added benefit!

Absolutely no comment - this was a great stay and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Edinburgh.

I had an amazing experience here. During check-in, I was informed that a "Taste of Scotland" experience would take place that evening. The person who hosted it was absolutely wonderful! I got to try some delicious, typically Scottish treats and learned a lot of funny and interesting facts. The pods themselves are very comfortable to sleep in, and the staff is incredibly friendly! The location of the hostel is fantastic and bathroom facilities were always clean and very practical! The lights in the room were also a bonus, very nice! Only positive remarks from me! :)

The pod inside was comfortable, i would say the linen and duvets are hotel-like. Staff was incredibly nice, especially Rachel and a girl who wears the hijab(sorry forgot to ask for her name) I forgot to book female-only room, that I only realised after seeing some men in my room. It was entirely my careless fault however the staff were nice and willing to help.

There was a poster in the bathroom saying 'Our cleaners/janitors in this toilet could be male, female, or anything in between.' I did not find out about the poster until I saw a man janitor in front of me right after my shower. It was quite shock and uncomfortable since I did not know the information at first.

- I've stayed here a few times, as it has an excellent location, friendly atmosphere, and it feels safe for a place that sees so many people come and go. - Considering it is a capsule-style hotel, it is comfortable. You'll still probably get woken up by your neighbours if you're a bit of a light sleeper, but everything is done to try and make you as comfortable as possible.

- The new restaurant seems to need to figure out a more efficient training system for its young staff: I had to repeat my order three times to a waiter, it took +15 min to get breakfast several of the days I was there, and the order was wrong a few times. I stopped trying to have breakfast there after a couple of days. - The bathroom (showers) could use a little bit more cleaning on the ground floor.

Loved this hostel. The pods were comfortable and private. The locker was big enough to fit a suitcase and a backpack. There was also a little cubby for shoes and hooks in the room for jackets/costs. Charging pods in the pods, as well as a rail, hook and shelf. The bathrooms were large and clean. Shower pressure wasn’t overly strong, but did the job. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The café downstairs was nice and guests were offered a discount. Great location - so close to everything. There was a lift and they offered luggage storage. Room access was with a code which was helpful - didn’t need to remember to bring a key with you
