Most of the hotel and the room are very good 90%

The room is very beautiful, but it lacks cleaning seriously and not just the entry of a cleaning worker 1) The curtain is dusty and with the sunset you can see dust falling from it, which causes allergies to the respiratory system 2) The space between the head of the bed and the wall of the room is very unclean and full of dirt, so I cleaned it myself for the big and small beds 3) The floor mattress is very full of hair and the abundance of colours cover the dirt and it turns out to be full of harmful dust. My notes are for the repair only, the hotel is more than wonderful, but those who love me tell me about my problem

Leonardo Royal Hotel (43 Jeffreys Street, Old Town, Edinburgh) is strategically located for exploring Edinburgh Old Town on foot. The Main train station was only a 3' walk away, and shops and restaurants about a 12' - 15' walk away. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful at all times - especially the reception people who made our stay so much more easy and comfortable. Room 626 was spacious and fully equipped. Wi-Fi was free and effective. The hotel was in very good decorative order. The sound insulation was very effective. Room care and breakfast were excellent. We had a memorable stay at Leonardo Royal Hotel!

Given that we stayed in a triple room, we expected three luggage bag stands and at least two chairs.

This Hotel is within walking distance to town, the Royal Mile and good Pubs with very good food.

This Hotel seems to cater more for Bus Tours than other quests too. It showed in the budget Breakfast provided. We had an early morning Bus Trip to catch for the day. But were told we could not have Breakfast early as the Breakfast was only open to Bus Tour quests and that we would have to wait until later. The staff member was very rude. The rooms are very warm. The Restaurant in the evening was run by a group of young kids that just wanted to clown around. Very unprofessional.

they had some construction work happening in hotel, which not interfere in our stay but still was not so good

Our room was great, very clean, lots of towels and the ac worked very well.

The refrigerator was a “cooler” not a frig and it didn’t keep anything cold. I called the front desk and was told that’s what they used. Breakfast was included, but the restaurant was crowded and the buffet looked good, but wasn’t. Most of the pastry/bread products were stale, the buffet food was cold. One day there was a chef making omelettes on request and those were fine, but he wasn’t there on the other day of our stay. I overheard one of the workers telling another guest that they might want to eat elsewhere!

Location is great, breakfast is good, and staff are generally pleasant.

Overall the room is a bit tired. It would truly deserve the 4-star rating (and the price) if the carpets could be renovated.

Great location - approx. 75 meters off the royal mile (and VERY close to the World's End pub). Having the in site bar was fantastic. We arrived in Edinburgh approx. 6 hours ahead of official check in - the staff handled storing the bags and we got out and about for several hours, before returning for a quick pint before check in. There was no noise even though we were right off the royal mile. This location is Extremely close to the main train station for Edinburgh. We stayed at a Leonardo in London a couple of years ago - was impressed with that experience as I was with this one.

Location couldn’t have been better. Breakfast was great, and the room was well equipped. Very nice to have the Nespresso maker as well as the kettle and shortbread. Bottled water replenished daily was really helpful. The staff, especially at breakfast, are great.

There is minimal ventilation in the bathroom and no light over the desk/coffee area making it hard to see to make coffee. Check in was rather disorganized, and it took a long time for them to find our pre-paid booking. There is a lot of construction going on and it’s necessary to ‘go through it’ to get to the Royal Mile. The workers are throughout the hotel, and it’s a bit annoying to be walking to the elevator and see a construction worker going in ahead, and not even try to hold it for a guest.

Fantastic hotel. Right in the centre and everything is within walking distance. We were checked in by Kass (who was absolutely lovely and made the check in process really easy) and gave us a complimentary room upgrade! The room was immaculate and the hotel restaurant serve lovely food. We had a really great stay and would definitely recommend to others to book here.

The only issue we had was in relation to the room TV, the connection wasn’t that great when trying to watch normal channels and the WiFi would disconnect occasionally, however you are able to cast apps from your mobile to the TV, i.e Netflix.

Great location. Very friendly staff. Nice big room. Great breakfast.
