A huge, great breakfast. Even had vegetarian 'haggis,' delicious! For a uni hall it was great and as anticipated from the description. Whilst the bathroom wasn't attached it was opposite my room and there were plenty of others if someone was using the nearest one. The staff were invariably pleasant and helpful going above and beyond in some cases. Great view too.

Unfortunatly the lift was not working and I was on the 4th floor with a heavy (30k) case. One of the staff helped me with it but at 72, 4 flights of stairs was a challenge. Also I gather the lift had been out of action for some time. It's not central but there are plenty of buses.

The room had a very good size, a private bathroom with all the new features, lots of towels, a desk with a lamp, a small tv, a tray with mugs, tea, coffee and an electrical kettle. Very clean room with all the lights working. Breakfast was delicious with hot meals, fruits, vegetables, eggs, coffee, tea, pretty much all the options were covered. Staff from the front desk, housekeeping, kitchen were helpful, friendly, respectful, patient explaining to everyone the rules in the campus, directions using the public transit. They were doing a very good job. The Pollock Halls campus for University of Edinburgh was located around 15 minutes by bus to the city center. Public transit was working umbeliveble good. The drivers from the public transit were very helpful.

It was easy to get to the location, and easy to walk to sightseeing places and restaurants. The views were lovely, and the breakfast was absolutely phenomenal! The staff were very helpful and easygoing, and we had no difficulties checking in or finding the shared spaces. The rooms were basic, but the beds were comfortable and the desk and closet space met our needs for the short stay.

The washroom is quite small, so the whole floor gets wet when you have a shower. But this was a minor inconvenience.

Staying at the University of Edinburgh was a wonderful and unique experience. Only about 5 bus stops from the historic city centre, I loved the quiet and green surroundings of this location. It's a sort of hostel++ experience, as there are so many useful facilities you don't get with a simple hotel room. Things like a small shop selling some simple items, a large cafeteria serving an excellent and free breakfast every morning, a few good quality and inexpensive restaurants, and the ability to do laundry on site made it an outstanding place to stay. You'll have to get used to going into the hallway to use a bathroom, but for me there was always one available and for the price I'd say that's a pretty good trade off. One enormous bonus for me was the location at the bottom of Holyrood Park - the hike to Arthur's Seat was a no brainer and so easy to do! I think I only took about 45 minutes from my 'dorm room' to the top, so that's pretty great.

The bathrooms in my 'hall' were a little outdated, and some showers seemed slow to drain. The halls were not super sound proof, I was lucky to stay during a quiet time and my halls were not fully booked, but I can imagine hearing some noises from neighbours during more busy times.

The staff are wonderful--super friendly and helpful. Compared to an Airbnb, it is nice to have 24/7 reception. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic--fresh fruit, yogurt, croissants, fried and scrambled eggs, cappuccinos, everything. The room and bathroom are no frills, but perfectly nice and super clean.

There's no air conditioning, so it might get hot in the summer months (we were fine in mid-June). The campus is not centrally located in Edinburgh, so the main issue was being far from grocery and restaurant options. The buses are not super close and the walk to High Street is 20-30 minutes depending on how fast you walk. There are shared mini-fridges in the common space of each floor, but it would be better to have a small fridge in the room. The beds were comfortable but the room is small. Overall, it was a nice and affordable place to stay despite some inconveniences.

Convenient to town centre by bus; great breakfast; room was clean and bigger than I expected.

Upon checking in I was not given information regarding the use of the kitchen. I really missed not having a kettle and mug in the room (I wasn’t expecting to have coffee and tea provided) and it wasn’t until the last day of my 4 nights stay that I discovered the key to a kitchen. The venue was very noisy with doors being slammed and voices carried between the rooms.

I like the room is spacious and toilets and showers were clean. The bed was very comfortable and there was an elevator. The buffet breakfast was amazing. Lots of choices and very delicious! The staff was nice during check-in however the guy during check-out probably didn't wake up on the right side of the bed and was annoying

The location is quite far from the old town or new town. You would need to ride a bus or walk 30 minutes just to get to Royal mile.

stayed here for three nights ,it is an accommodation of the University of Edinburgh.the room is ok, clean, the shower a bit small, but still ok if compare to some hotels in London.I like its breakfast, it is served at their restaurant, just like a student dining hall, so you will think you are one of the student from the university of Edinburgh, haha! though the food everyday quite the same, but the portion is big, you can eat as many as you want, and the food is yummy also. the location is not far from the city centre, you must take bus to the city centre. the room price is competitive, if you don't mind the distance, then summer stays at the university of Edinburgh is highly recommended!

Standard student accommodation. The room had twin beds and an en-suite bathroom. The breakfast buffet was truly excellent with a spacious canteen and a good choice of food. The various hot and cold drinks dispensers at the buffet were to a very high standard. Vegetarian options were always available. Check-in and out were very easy in the well staffed reception area. The site is adjacent to footpaths which lead to parks and up into the nearby hills. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

The pillows were laughably thin and lightweight. The TV screen in the room was tiny - almost like a laptop screen. The vegetarian station at the buffet kept switching positions each morning. I suspect one day I ate real haggis and my partner ate vegetarian haggis (the opposite of our intentions!) because the station switched and the staff hadn't realised when laying out the food.

It was within walking distance to the centre of Edinburgh, and if you didn’t want to walk, there is a bus stop on the main road next to the accomodation. The breakfast in the morning had so much choice, from hot food to continental options, cereals and fruits. There is a bar on site as well as a restaurant if you decide to stay close by. The room and facilities are basic but clean and comfortable and the area overall was quiet.

My overall stay was great. Couldn’t fault the location or cleanliness of the accommodation. Only issue that I would say is the doors to the rooms slam shut and are very loud. I was woken with a fright by doors slamming shut by other guests coming and going in the early hours.
