Room was clean and serviceable. Bed was comfortable. Reception staff were very helpful. Breakfast food was excellent

Couldn't get a hairdryer for the whole of my visit. Wouldn't it be fairer to ask visitors to return their borrowed hairdryer within 24 hours, thereby letting others use one? Big queues for check in - couldn't you have 1 staff member dedicated to "other queries" at peak times? Cafeteria was extremely busy - you could do with a further coffee machine to prevent queuing. Busier than last time I stayed with you - noisy at night & bedroom doors slam shut

The excellent buffet breakfasts. Pleasant room. View of Arthur's seat. Proximity of bath/shower & toilet to my room. Lift to rooms. Shop on site. Reception on site. Kitchen facilities. Laundry facilities. Easy access to Fringe venues on foot or by bus.

Risk of the toilet paper disappearing inside the locked holders! Other guests failing to use the bath mats provided and leaving the shower room floor wet (maybe there could be a sign up reminding them to bring it from their room?). I would prefer one hand and one bath towel rather than two bath towels, so I can easily keep track of which is which (but that's very picky!) Only 3 hangers. Other guests leaving smelly food in the fridge and going home (maybe there could be a sign up reminding them to take or throw it away when they leave!).

The Unjverdity property is quite inviting, and the room was very modern and clean. I liked the bathroom being located almost directly across from my dorm room. The linens were clean, cozy and smelled nice. The room had great storage and its own vanity sink, mirror and desk. I felt safe walking alone at night and the city bus stopped very near. The young staff were always friendly, polite, and helpful. I didn’t get a chance to taste the complimentary breakfasts, but they sure smelled good.

I didn’t know there was a nearby laundry until the day I left. A nice sign on the bulletin board might’ve helped.

A huge, great breakfast. Even had vegetarian 'haggis,' delicious! For a uni hall it was great and as anticipated from the description. Whilst the bathroom wasn't attached it was opposite my room and there were plenty of others if someone was using the nearest one. The staff were invariably pleasant and helpful going above and beyond in some cases. Great view too.

Unfortunatly the lift was not working and I was on the 4th floor with a heavy (30k) case. One of the staff helped me with it but at 72, 4 flights of stairs was a challenge. Also I gather the lift had been out of action for some time. It's not central but there are plenty of buses.

Perfect location, close enough to the city centre but also removed enough to be in a quieter more peaceful spot during the Fringe. The breakfast is very good and the check in and luggage storage process very easy. The room was clean and comfortable. The shared bathroom facilities are basic and quite old, but sufficient.

As it's student accommodation there isn't much soundproofing in the rooms and corridors, so I was woken up by noise of people slamming doors and talking in corridors early in the morning. I think this unfortunately was just the people staying near my room though rather than a general problem. Most of the time it was quiet.

Amazing breakfast, I was here last year for work and I was looking forward to the food again! The only slight issue is that the canteen gets very very busy (I haven’t found a quiet time even with my varied shift pattern) so don’t expect a peaceful meal… Great facilities with the laundry and sink in the bedroom too, and the location is decent - train station/gym/work location were all around 30 minutes walk.

Not sure how it could be improved really as there were a few staff members working, but check in is (understandably) quite slow if you turn up around 3pm - expect to stand in a long queue!

I had a really lovely experience staying at the university dorms this summer. The campus itself is absolutely beautiful—peaceful, green, and well-maintained, with plenty of places to walk and relax. The location was another major plus. It was easy to get around, with a direct bus ride to the city centre taking less than 20 minutes. Having that balance of quiet surroundings with quick access to the city made a big difference. I especially appreciated having a bedroom to myself—it was quiet and comfortable, with a great desk setup that made it easy to work when needed. But honestly, the highlight of the whole stay was the breakfast! There were so many options every morning, and it really added a special touch to the experience.

The bathroom floor would flood quite easily after a shower, which wasn’t ideal. Also, while the pantry was useful, I would have appreciated some basic utensils being provided.

Edinburgh is a very expensive place to stay during the Fringe Festival. This was a good value for the time of year. The rooms are comfortable dormitory rooms and the setting is very nice - just under Arthur's Seat. It is close to the center of Edinburgh without being crazy and crowded. Bus service to the center is very easy, as is Uber and Bolt. Check in was busy, as you would expect, but handled very professionally. The breakfast is served in the housing cafeteria and was excellent. I would certainly stay there again during the Fringe. There is a laundry in one of the buildings and they were able to store our luggage when we arrived a bit early. All in all, it was a great stay!

It was an excellent option for us!

It was great staying at this place. I stayed at Turner House and my room had the view of Arthur's Seat. The room was spacious for me as a solo traveller and were clean. Other facilities like shower and bathroom were clean as well. Free wifi was also provided. The free breakfast was great, you shouldn't skip it. I was also able to securely leave my stuff after check out in the morning since my flight was at the evening, and I was still able to roam around the city. Location is very accessible by bus both from and to the airport and Prince's Street. They were the cheapest and most decent one I could find in Booking, considering my stay was in August and all hotels are very expensive due to the festival.

Only downside is that you can hear the doors when being closed by other guests. Their doors would have a loud bang if you would let it close by itself. You can also hear other guests from other rooms if they are too loud.

Really nice athmosphere, friendly staff, good bus connection to city, opportunity to hike nearby. Room was small but had all neccesities. The included breakfast at the hotel on the grounds was truly exceptional! A lush buffet with everything you could think of, and very well organised.

The facilities were a bit outdated, and we had some issues with our keycard being "slow" (perhaps low battery in the lock). I am sure there are logistic reasons for not offering the kitchen areas for self catering, but it would have been perfect if there was a stove + some cooking gear. As it were, there are just fridges, a microwave and a toaster, the kitchen may almost just as well have been inaccesible. Some simple instructions on public transport to the city would have been helpful. There was no aircondition, so a bit hot on the warmest day.
