The room felt clean, bed was comfortable and area seemed quiet. Self check in/out were very easy, and it was nice to have a locker for our luggage to be left while we spent the day exploring before our evening train. It's not a particularly central location but there are loads of buses so easy to get around.

No mirror in bedroom. Tap in the bathroom was incredibly stiff - neither myself or my partner could get the cold tap to work, and hot tap was constantly dripping. Shower was ok but quite hard to get the temperature right; one day I had a freezing cold shower because no matter what I tried, it wasn't giving any hot water.

Cleaning staff sweetly helpful when we were in wrong Allison building. Room was ready b4 2p.m. which was SUPER convenient (though there WERE lockers had it NOT been). Quiet, temperature of room was good. Coffee & biscuits welcome (would have liked biscuits refreshed for our second night’s stay). Good communication from host.

Room #35 was up 4(?) flights of stairs and under eves of building. Only ‘seating’ was on the bed, trying to keep from konking one’s head! We asked to stay in #35 for 2nd night rather than move to # 44 which was lower floor(?)and ostensibly had more room. Wish I’d alerted host beforehand so as to maybe have had #44 both nights.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. It was the perfect choice for a trip to Edinburgh! The location was great, a 30 minute walk to the city centre, making it easy to explore while still being in a quiet area. The room had everything we needed - daily cleaning, a cozy and comfortable bed and thoughtful touches like coffee, sugar, biscuits, a kettle, cups and water, all restocked daily. Despite the chilly weather, the room was always warm and inviting, and the hot water was reliable at all times. The chicken took out process was incredibly easy and hasslefree. Plus they allowed us to store luggage for free which was super convenient.

The only thing we would have changed is adding a wardrobe as we didn’t have one, and our clothes ended up scattered around the room. But other than that, everything was fantastic!

The location was fantastic! One 20min bus ride from princes street and you’re there, bus stops both ways right next to the building. The facilities were lovely and clean. Check in and out was extremely easy, the property contacted us beforehand and afterwards with details to help, so that was lovely. The windows were great too, open all the way.

The sink was a little small but not enough to be a minus to our experience. The room was a bit hot, so it could use a fan, but sleeping on top of the sheets fixed that easily. The only main thing to complain about was the staff that started turning over the rooms around us at 8am were very noisy and loud, especially when chatting to each other. It woke me up easily as they were just next door.

The room was beautiful. We were a group of 3 friends and had more than enough space to get around the room. We had very big windows so we had a lot of light. The location is perfect, it is calm and you can find multiple bus stops 2 min from your room. The check in/out instructions were easy to follow and had no problems there. Every day our room would be cleaned out and we would get new towels whenever we asked. Overall a great stay.

The bathroom was a bit small and the bathroom door was squeaky. Other than the bathroom everything else was fine.

The location is a bit away from the city center but not so far that it takes too long to get there, there were multiple bus stops like 1 or 2 minutes away from it so reaching the center was super easy and we didn't had the noice, people, and other annoyances that can be if you stay in the center of the city, is near Arthur's Seat as well so if you plan of going there it's a good place for it. Our room was huge, we had 1 king bed and 1 single bed, one sofa, TV, plenty of room for clothes, so much room for activities we had a window to the street, bathroom was nice and the staff lady was super helpful with us, once you arrive you can just open the door and come in put you password in the lock and get your key, if you arrived before your check in time there is plenty of space to store your luggage, there is a lot of information about tours and stuff in the reception as well. Near the place there are multiple places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner in case you don't want to go too far for that

Noice from other rooms can some times get into yours, we had a situation where we were already in bed and someone hit our door for some reason(probably someone drunk) but that's not the place fault just people being people

Allison House 16, is near the bus stop and you can get to the city in no time. There are some cute cafès nearby where you can have breakfast or brunch. You can have some tea or coffee in the room as there is a water heater and teabags and instant coffee etc. The bed was really comfortable! We had a room directly into the garden ( ground floor). The staff was really friendly, we arrived before check in time, we left the suitcases that they took to our room. The day we checked out, we left our suitcases in the storage unit, so we had some time to have breakfast and took a stroll around .The room and bathroom were very clean, and there was no noise at any time

A very cozy and comfortable hotel. The heating works perfectly, and the temperature can be adjusted as needed. The room is well-maintained and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The automatic check-in and check-out process is easy and convenient. The hotel is in a great location, close to the city center with easy access to public transport. I highly recommend this place!

The soundproofing could be better, but it wasn’t a big issue.
