⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A True Gem in Edinburgh! We absolutely loved our stay at Glenalmond House! From the moment we arrived, Jimmy and Fiona made us feel completely at home — they’re such warm, friendly hosts who genuinely care about their guests. Jimmy’s breakfasts are absolutely amazing — his omelets in particular are not to be missed! Every morning was a treat, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. Our room was spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable — one of the best sleeps we’ve had on our trip. The location couldn’t be better either: just a short, quick Uber ride to the Royal Mile and all the main sights, yet tucked away in a peaceful, charming neighbourhood. There are also some great local pubs nearby — we especially enjoyed The Old Bell Inn, which had fantastic food and a cozy atmosphere. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend Glenalmond House to anyone visiting Edinburgh. A perfect blend of comfort, location, and genuine Scottish hospitality!

Nothing - our stay was perfect!

First off, the hosts were genuinely warm and welcoming, and immediately sought to make me, as their guest, feel comfortable and at home. After a quick orientation, I was taken to my room. Reading the info binder within, I thought I had never read any info binder more thorough or thoughtful than theirs - they have literally thought of everything. My room, though fronting onto a busy road, was quiet at night and I slept well. Breakfasts were excellent, with a lot of choice, all beautifully made. The location of the B & B is great - not in the centre of the tourist area, yet it's an easy walk into town, or, you can catch one of the many busses that will take you straight into the heart of the city in minutes.

I really can't think of anything. It was wonderful, and I'd happily stay there again.

We loved our stay. The room was clean, quiet and had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast (which one orders from a menu in advance, saving a lot of waste) was great, and the owners were always friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed reading in the evening in the common drawing room, which has some fantastic furniture and highlights how well they restored the historic charm of the house. For public transit, they're also as good as it can possibly get; I don't think it really took us more than 20 minutes to get from our room to the city center, including walking and waiting for the next bus.

The whole house is very neat and beautiful. The room is very clean and meets the requirements. There is no scale in the kettle. The host and his wife are warm and friendly, and the service is thoughtful.The location is excellent, the bus stop is at the door, the fare is 5 pounds all day, and you can go to the city center in about 15 minutes. The weather is good and you can enjoy the city walk. I strongly recommend this hotel, the price is very good than the downtown, but the cost performance is very high. Just a little suggestion. It would be great if the pillow could be updated to memory form which would be of great help to people with sleep disorders. I will choose this place next time. Thank you Jimmy and Fiona.

Glenalmond House is a super B&B to stay. I highly recommend it. We had a large room for our family. It was a bit tight but the room was very well planned. For example, it had a wonderful window area where you could relax in the armchair, read or look at the trees. The little fridge and the kettle became very handy for our stay. The lounge downstairs is very nice and always available or guests. The breakfast room is lovely and we had our own table (this is not always the case at B&Bs). A really nice breakfast it was, plenty to choose from, to meet all tastes and needs. We liked the host very much. He is a cheerful, nice chap, very helpful. The location of Glenalmond House is convenient for taking a short bus ride to the centre, the old town and the railway station. If you are sporty you can also walk to the paths that lead to Arthur's Seat . An interesting detail is that you could order the cab by pressing just one button in the lounge. It worked, and we enjoyed the most fantastic journey in a spacious modern black city cab owned by a co-operation of taxi drivers.

We really liked staying in Glenalmond; it was very roomy after all the comparatively cramped rooms we'd had leading up to our stay, and we appreciated the modern look and feel in the bathrooms while still having a beautiful bedroom with period pieces. We enjoyed being able to easily walk to the heart of Edinburgh in about 40 minutes, and the breakfast at Glenalmond was also delicious! We'll definitely stay here again if we ever get the chance!

The staff were so kind, always checking on us and making sure we had everything we need. It was a beautiful and pleasant stay. I hope to be back some day. The breakfast was super fresh and made to order! The room was spacious and very clean. I loved the little sitting area in our room, and loved the big sitting area in the house itself. I liked the decor of the rooms and house.

Breakfast is prepared per order (when you arrive; can be changed every evening for the next morning). All fresh and good. Room is a bit small, but very clean and met my needs. And the staff/owners are just great! Would answer any questions you might have, offer information, and help make your stay very pleasant.

Nothing really. Minor things like a smallish bathroom and shower, but travelling for business, I didn't spend much time in the room, so this really didn't really bother me.

Great location with very easy walking to city centre or use the buses which run frequently from a bus stop 2 minutes walk away. Beautiful house and facilities. Jimmy and Fiona are excellent hosts. Great choice for breakfast and superb quality. Parking on site. Good WiFi. Very comfortable bed and room with en-suite.

Lovely and cozy bed and breakfast, very traditional but with good facilities. Super nice proprietors. Definitely recommend it.

The mattresses are old and hard, maybe not suitable for people with back problems. Also, it's relatively far out in Edinburgh (although the city isn't huge and it's easy to take a bus).
