The hotel is well located, although not in the city center. We walked almost every day, but we like to walk. We walked about 15 kilometers each day. However, we used local transportation twice, which is also very good. There's a bus stop in front, and more buses pass on the street behind. We had breakfast nearby at the Kiva restaurant, which was very good. But before going, we had coffee and cookies, which were delivered to our room every day. Our towels were changed daily. The bed was very good, the room clean. In short, I recommend this place.

I have no complaints

It was really easy to access all the tourists spots by bus. The room was very charming and clean and an overall great place to stay. The gentleman managing the property was extremely kind, helpful, and generous. He helped us carry our bags up the stairs, explained how the busses worked, and gave us new towels every day. One morning when we were heading out for the day, it was raining and we had no umbrella. The manager noticed and gave us one of his own to use for the day. Really nice guy and a great property.

Everything was great

Perfect location l! Easy walk into old town and lots of cafes, eateries along the way. Great local pubs too. Public transport which was very regular just right in front of the guesthouse. Loved the tea coffee and biscuits provided daily as was the room cleaned and clean towelling etc daily. Our host was very accommodating when our late night flight was delayed. Highly recommend!

Everything was perfect !

The hosts, Ali and Amina, were very kind and supportive. They went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and comfortable. The room was lovely and cosy. We had a spectacular view with Arthur's seat from our window. All amenities that I required during the stay were available. I would not hesitate to book a room again with these lovely people upon another visit.

Area was nice and quiet, easy to get bus to cente. Old Bell pub nice atmosphere & food. Cafe on corner lovely food and Pataka Indian lovely food. Owners very nice & helpful. 2 flights of stairs to room ok for us but be aware. Nice not to have to get up for breakfast, tray with tea, coffee and biscuits supplied. Tesco express few mins walk away.

Pillows not great and bed could do with new mattress. We asked for extra pillows and were given immediately.

The Hosts were very helpful and courteous They greeted my daughter and myself with a warm welcome which set me at ease. They explained to us where to access the binnearest transport and places to visit. Our room was very clean and tidy with a great view of Arthur's seat. We would definitely stay there again.

There was not anything to dislike .

The city is a bus ride away though the Uber there is basically the same price if you're in a grp of 3 or more. No issues with the shower, cleanliness, lots of space in the family room (he said he gave us the larger room) if ventilation is an issue just open the windows and it'll be fine. There's also some convenience stores about 10min walk away tops, neighbourhood is good too

We had a lovely stay at Capital House! The guest house is on a quiet street, easily reachable by bus from the train station, and near several nice and affordable eating spots. Our room had a nice garden view with Arthur's Seat in the background. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean with a good shower. Our hosts were friendly and quickly available. Good wifi. Would recommend!

No complaints, really! Our private bathroom was separate from the room - this was communicated beforehand and was not a problem, but maybe it would be an idea to install an outside lock so that only people staying in the right room can make use of it (to be clear, the bathroom does currently have a lock from the inside). Also good to be aware that there is no elevator, only stairs.

I travelled with my two teenagers in July this summer, and we got a huge, beautiful room with a nice sofa in front of the tv as well. They do not serve breakfast, but you get a tray with tea, coffee and biscuits every day, a really nice gesture. We like to walk, the place was a 30 minutes walk from the Edingburgh Waverley. But the bus stop is just outside the guesthouse if you prefer the bus. The host was also helpful ordering a taxi to the airport. (As for breakfast, we loved the sandwich shop and coffee bar Amarelo a 10 minutes walk up the street!)

Good guest house that provides the comfort you expect on a city trip. Good location in a nice and quiet neighborhood. Public transport available in the area and the city centre a reasonable twenty minutes walk away. Friendly management.

Sometimes you hear voices in the adjacent room, but not at night.
