I liked how the owners caring nature made me feel like being at home. But also the location is really great. Just a couple of minutes away is a bus station where you can get a bus to most of the main places in Edinburgh. This really helped me save time and money on local travel.

I'm not sure if this is a UK thing or with that house, but the shower water pressure was quite low and how water was reallt uneven. At one point scorching hot and the second quite cold. After letting it run for a while the temperature stabilised. Didn't manage to tell the owners as I was away for most of the day, so in a way it's my own fault for not letting them know.

Everything was awesome. Danny and his wife are amazing hosts. We felt ourselves at home. The small guest house is located 12 minutes by bus from the railway station. The bus stop is just in front of the guest house. The tram stop to the airport is located 7 minutes by walk. The way to the airport by tram takes roughly 50 minutes. The area around is perfectly safe, with a lot of restaurants and pubs. The room was clean, and I obtained everything needed (towels, a kettle with free tea, coffee, cacao, and cookies, hairdryer). Everything was perfectly clean. The guest house proposes a traditional scotch breakfast for a very reasonable price. Danny also gave us some valuable recommendations regarding the tourist attractions in Edinburgh.

The hosts, Danny and jasmine, were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast they prepared every morning was very hearty and delicious. Location of the guesthouse is pretty central. The room is also quite clean and comfortable.

Room and bathroom are somewhat small, and there is no elevator so it can be quite challenging for those with big luggage. While private parking is listed as one of the amenities, there is actually no designated parking for the guesthouse, so guests have to use street parking. While it is free, the lots near the guesthouse can run out pretty quickly.

I was there for a week on an educational vacation and had a very pleasant stay. The hosts are very attentive and accommodating. Since I left the accommodation before breakfast on weekdays, I was provided with sandwiches and orange juice every day. The bathroom in the single room on the first floor does not have an integrated bathroom, but the bathroom opposite is large, clean and is available for exclusive use. The bus stops right outside the front door provide perfect connections to the city center and the airport can also be reached directly via the tram. I would recommend it and would be happy to come back. Thumbs up.

Danny and Jasmine are exceptional hosts! The room was spotless and equipped with all the essential amenities. Although the bathroom for my single room was external, it was private and conveniently located just two steps across the hall. Breakfast was plentiful and absolutely delicious. The location is ideal – with a bus stop right in front of the house offering direct access to the city center, and a tram stop just a few minutes away for easy travel to and from the airport. I would love to stay here again on my next visit to Edinburgh. Highly recommended!

The room was spotless and very comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. Our host was very welcoming and accommodating and has thought of everything to create an enjoyable guesthouse experience. We had the breakfast on our 2nd morning; it was cooked to order and delicious with plenty of options. The location was ideal for visiting my son in Leith and an easy tram/bus ride into the centre of Edinburgh.

A well appointed, comfortable, warm, carefully planned establishment with attention to detail by thoughtful, kind and attentive proprietors. Personal bathroom across the landing from the room which was not an issue. Breakfasts excellent with both cooked and cereal options. Host very kindly carried bag both up and down stairs. Most accommodating and much appreciated. I recommend for solo travellers. Would very much like to return

Nothing not to like. Excellent accommodation and close to busstops and the central area of Edinburgh.

Very quiet and comfortable. The hosts were very kind and attentive. The breakfast was delicious. They even made me sandwiches to take when I had to check out early in the morning. The location is right on the bus line and it takes about 20 minutes to get to the center of town. The buses run frequently. I had a great day and highly recommend the Mackenzie guest house!

I have no complaints

The hosts are wonderful and very helpful. The place is so clean and welcoming! We loved the location : away from the center of Edinburgh, but with so many public transportation options close by! And in a very pretty neighborhood, in walking distance of the water and with lots of very nice restaurants. Breakfast was very nice too, with many options.

We liked everything

My stay at Mackenzie Guest House far exceeded my expectations. The room and bathroom were both spotless and clean. The house is located just 10-15mins away from the city center with public transportation very close by - there's a bus stop right outside the house and the tram stop(my preference) was about a 5min walk away. I slept very well and felt comfortable there. Danny and Jasmine were very friendly and made me feel at home. They kept me company in the morning during breakfast and went out of their way to accommodate me. They even woke up earlier than normal one morning to make me breakfast as I was heading out extra early that morning. The breakfast that they served was delicious. If I am ever back in Edinburgh I will absolutely be staying here again. Thanks to Danny and Jasmine for being great hosts.
