The guest house is really clean and comfortable, and conveniently located near the tram and bus stops that take you straight to the city center and the airport. There are some nice cafes and restaurants nearby, along with supermarkets for anything you might need. If you're up for a bit of exploring, Leith is just a short trip away and worth checking out!

The rooms and bathrooms are quite small, which might feel a little cramped for some guests, but they are clean and perfect for a night or two. The guest house can get a little noisy at times, so I'd recommend bringing earplugs just in case. Unfortunately, breakfast is not available right now due to renovations in the dining area, but there are plenty of good options nearby.

We stayed here as a family of three and really liked the location — it was convenient and close to everything we needed. The room was clean, comfortable, and nicely done, which made for a pleasant stay. One thing to note is that the apartment is up two flights of stairs, which was a bit challenging — but the staff were kind enough to help us with our luggage, which we really appreciated.

The only downside was that our room was cleaned without our permission while we were out, which wasn’t ideal as our personal belongings were inside. It would have been better to be asked or notified in advance.

Our room appeared to have been recently renovated with a large ensuite. This cut into the space for the room but we could live with that. The fittings in the room were tasteful. The location was great for us with the main street 100 m away and with easy public transport to the royal mile. There are plenty of options for food not far away. The staff were friendly and efficient

It is a shame we were there when they were doing quite large renovations to the kitchen and dining area. lt wasn't that we heard noise but we couldn't access these. It would be great to come back again and to be able to use these upgraded facilities. Having an area with table and chair out front was a big bonus for us as the weather was perfect. They have now spent time and effort into adding more planting there.

We stayed two nights at 16 Pilrig Guest House in Edinburgh and really enjoyed it! The guest house is super cute, with a lovely atmosphere and charm. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful—from quickly answering our messages to helping us book a taxi to the airport. The location is excellent, close to public transport, great restaurants, coffee shops, and many of Edinburgh’s main attractions. We were even lucky enough to be able to extend our stay. All in all, a wonderful experience—we’d definitely come back.

Breakfast wasn’t available during our stay, but that’s really just a small detail—and it gave us the chance to discover a fantastic nearby coffee shop.

Comfy bed in a spacious, clean room. There are extra blankets and a heater in the room, which comes in handy in the middle of December. The bathroom is clean and it's close to the city (20 mins walk).

The walls are too thin. Bring earplugs with you to have a good night sleep.

Room was modern, spotless very comfortable and tastefully decorated complete with a wee mini fridge, tea and even a wee coffee press.. For the cost we were extremely surprised how nice this room was and its one of the nicest places I have stayed in Edinburgh. Its 4 min taxi to the playhouse or a ten min walk in a straight line so impossible to get lost. Trams and buses on the corner so plenty public transport if you dont want to walk. We will definitely be back.

Lot of stairs but this is edinburgh and its what you have to expect in older properties but thats just nit picking its part of the charm of the old buildings.

Room as per recent pictures, spotlessly clean. Great value for money compared to other accommodation in this area (I’ve stayed in a few over the last 6 months and would not go back to some), close to tram stop.

Was charged £10 for late check in (1am) - so really should not be advertised as 24 hr front desk. Someone mentioned key boxes, and my key was actually in the key box, but no code had been given. It would be better to give guests this code to avoid troubling the staff member to be available, as per some other accommodation locally.

The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable and lots of hot water. The location was also great. Half an hour walk to the centre or 2 minutes from bus and tram stops.

The room and bathroom were tiny. Okay for a night or two. We always book somewhere that serves breakfast and it said breakfast was available for £10, however there was a table in front of the breakfast room door in the morning. It would have been nice to have been told in advance. Beware when parking! Max 4 hours stay during the day time. We got a parking ticket when 8 minutes over that time.

The location is very easy to find & not far from the city center. Room was warm, clean, & offered an assortment of teas & coffee as well as a refrigerator. There are plenty of lamps & fixtures as well as electrical outlets. Check in was smooth & easy. Fast internet connection. The bathroom had everything we needed too.

The only downside is the rooms are right next to each other & you can hear people in the next room. We had some noisy girls next to us who wouldn't keep quiet until 12am. The ceiling is low as it's an attic room so you might hit your head a few times.
