If you are visiting Gullane to golf, you could not ask for a better location. The hotel is literally across the street from the course. I am not a golfer but chose to walk the course with my husband so that I would not miss out on the breathtaking sea views. Later that evening, we also took a stroll to the beach, which was lovely. We ate dinner at the Mallard and my husband's duck was one of his favorite meals in Scotland. I had the fish and chips, which was very good. Breakfast was also cooked to order and plentiful.
We ended up in the room for disabled travelers which was the only room on the ground floor and had a large window view of the parking lot (and a huge, odd ensuite bathroom). We would have preferred to be in an upstairs room. I will cut them some slack here because we arrived early in the day (much earlier than check-in time) so it is possible that they gave us the first available room to be accommodating. All in all, it was a very pleasant stay in a pleasant location.

The staff were very welcoming and lovely, although we learnt later we were the only guests staying overnight, so if it had been busier with overnight guests this might have been different. One of our bulbs was not working in the bedroom, but this was immediately rectified with one staff member asking for a colleague to join them whilst we were out of the room, which I greatly appreciated. Thank you. The Signature room has a step in shower and a beautiful bath - it was just so inviting that despite being very tired, and late to bed, I had to have a bath to have the experience. My husband is not into overkill with Christmas decorations, and the hotel reflected that which made it more relaxing even though we were on business. I experimented with a vegan breakfast on our first day, and the chef asked for clarification with my order for a Scottish breakfast the following morning, which, again, I very much appreciated.
My frustration was at the beginning with not being told we could not have the Signature room with our dogs until after I had paid, and then had to find alternative accommodation for my dogs rather than risk losing the stay. Staff did email their apologies and offered another room, but I felt it was too great a risk having booked through Booking.com We were offered fruit juices which came from the bar, so I felt beholden to ask staff for more. We also felt the bar prices were a little too high compared to other places locally, so it discouraged us to stay and enjoy the ambience.

Beautiful location, next to golf course, we were early and there was no problems with check-in. Sat in the bar and had a couple of drinks in the afternoon, then back down later for dinner, which was excellent, spot on with everything and tasted fantastic, as did breakfast the next day. Got to give a shout out to the young man who was on front of house, while we were there, He was a credit to the hotel, and his attitude and attention to looking after customers was spot on.

A lovely little hotel with super friendly staff. We stayed for one night to get to the Fringe by the Sea festival and it was really handy for the bus. The hotel is traditional and comfortable with lovely staff and clean cosy bedrooms. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order and our vegetarian and gluten free eaters were easily catered for. There's a little carpark at the back of the hotel to park safely. I'd highly recommend.
No complaints at all!

I really like this hotel - felt at home straight away and they accommodated a late check in and my dog. Wifi really good. Gullane is a lovely place and the hotel is in a top spot. Not golfing but wouldn't hesitate recommending it for a golfing stay. Clean and comfy beds. Steak is the best I have eaten in many years (special on a Thursday) so suggest you don't miss it if you are a meat eater.
Nothing.

Fantastic location , very clean , friendly staff & onsite parking, good freshly prepared breakfast with choice (although one breakfast on 2nd day same choice much larger)
Nothing really although hotel practically empty and I’d indicated it was our anniversary, a slight upgrade would have been appreciated - but the allocated room was warm & cosy enough with a comfy bed and good quality bed linens.

We had a delicious lunch in the outside seating area. There was ample parking at the rear. The staff, name check to Amanda, who went above and beyond to help us. Great selection at breakfast to chose from.
Quite expensive for one night but we understand the Fringe by the sea and the Gullane Games were both on that day. It turned out to be worth it.

Staff were absolutely lovely. Me and my partner were staying whilst watching the Scottish open, I got heat exhaustion and they let me take my food to the room and made us up a cheese board. They were very attentive! The hotel itself is beautiful and unique. Very clean and great food! Gullane is phenomenal and the hotel is in an amazing location!

This beautifully refurbished hotel has a tasteful style with excellent staff, all of whom were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. We stayed in the beautiful Lookout which is stylish, great size with great bath and separate shower. Breakfast was excellent; crayfish cocktail is also fabby. Throughout our stay, we were very well taken care of.
Nothing we didn’t like.

The food was excellent. Well cooked and fresh. Breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked and superb portions. Our room was in an ideal situation with easy access to outside with the dog - who was very welcomed! The staff were, without fail, friendly and welcoming.
I think the only thing that was a down side was the beds which were pretty firm!
