The staff were very welcoming and lovely, although we learnt later we were the only guests staying overnight, so if it had been busier with overnight guests this might have been different. One of our bulbs was not working in the bedroom, but this was immediately rectified with one staff member asking for a colleague to join them whilst we were out of the room, which I greatly appreciated. Thank you. The Signature room has a step in shower and a beautiful bath - it was just so inviting that despite being very tired, and late to bed, I had to have a bath to have the experience. My husband is not into overkill with Christmas decorations, and the hotel reflected that which made it more relaxing even though we were on business. I experimented with a vegan breakfast on our first day, and the chef asked for clarification with my order for a Scottish breakfast the following morning, which, again, I very much appreciated.

My frustration was at the beginning with not being told we could not have the Signature room with our dogs until after I had paid, and then had to find alternative accommodation for my dogs rather than risk losing the stay. Staff did email their apologies and offered another room, but I felt it was too great a risk having booked through Booking.com We were offered fruit juices which came from the bar, so I felt beholden to ask staff for more. We also felt the bar prices were a little too high compared to other places locally, so it discouraged us to stay and enjoy the ambience.

Beautiful location, next to golf course, we were early and there was no problems with check-in. Sat in the bar and had a couple of drinks in the afternoon, then back down later for dinner, which was excellent, spot on with everything and tasted fantastic, as did breakfast the next day. Got to give a shout out to the young man who was on front of house, while we were there, He was a credit to the hotel, and his attitude and attention to looking after customers was spot on.

Nothing really although hotel practically empty and I’d indicated it was our anniversary, a slight upgrade would have been appreciated - but the allocated room was warm & cosy enough with a comfy bed and good quality bed linens.

The hotel is ideally located in Gullane. If you're playing any of the East Lothian courses, this is a good home base. You can literally walk to the Gullane courses. This was my first time staying here, but it seems like the hotel has been redone recently. The room was very nice and the bathroom has all modern fixtures/shower, etc. The hotel has a nice bar in the front of the hotel (and patio) and large restaurant and patio in the back. We enjoyed hanging out in the bar after rounds of golf and the staff was very friendly and professional. There is street parking in front of the hotel and a large car park in back. I will definitely stay here again when I come to East Lothian.

The situation was excellent and we enjoyed the view from our window overlooking the children’s golf course. It was very convenient for our day at the Scottish Open. Our bed was very comfortable and we had all we needed in our room.

We would have liked to have been offered yogurt and fruit with our cereal rather than paying £3.00 extra. This is something we have had on offer on all the hotels and bed and breakfasts we have been to. Even Premier Inn! Our bedroom had a strong smell of cleaning spray or room spray which I disliked and could have been offensive to someone with allergies.

This beautifully refurbished hotel has a tasteful style with excellent staff, all of whom were incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. We stayed in the beautiful Lookout which is stylish, great size with great bath and separate shower. Breakfast was excellent; crayfish cocktail is also fabby. Throughout our stay, we were very well taken care of.

parking facilities, Room was very good. Enough space in the wardrobe to put clothes away. very good shower cubicle. The hotel is next to the golf courses and driving range. The hotel is within walking distance to the beach. A short driving distance to north berwick to see Bass Rock. The beer garden is lovely. What could make it even better would be to have little solar lights around the tree trunks and the lower branches.

Lovely room overlooking the green/golf course. Very quiet despite the restaurant bar below. The evening meal was exceptional. Breakfast basic, but deliciously so.

I'd like to have seen a porridge option at breakfast!! (And perhaps a small selection of cheeses and breads). But nonetheless, the kippers were just perfect.

Staff were very polite and attentive. The Lookout room was superb with plenty room and great views. Food and drinks were great and good selection. Nice location and outlook. Spacious car park. Reasonably priced on a half board basis.

No sauce with my wife's evening meal however we should have realised and asked during the meal.

We stayed in the Lookout room which was lovely, bed comfy and bathroom huge! No complaints at all. Hotel was lovely, staff really nice and approachable, breakfast really delicious (and catered to a coeliac without issue which always makes things for us, slightly easier) and public areas looked really nice (restaurant closed for our stay but bar open). Parking area at back of hotel or plenty of street parking available. We tended to be out most of the day (bit of golf etc) - perfect location for golfers!!! No complaints and would definitely stay again.

Unfortunately, hotel restaurant closed on the days we stayed (Monday and Tuesday)- recognise that in quieter winter months this is similar across lots of accomodations so overall not really a negative but more to be aware of when booking. Other eateries available in village/short drive away although some also have same closing days so be aware of this - check ahead.
