The interiors were amazing, the location was perfect for exploring the city and the staff were so lovely and helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the lamplighters bar on the top floor is perfect for cocktails.

We took our dog and were really surprised by the £100 per dog per night charge. We have stayed with our dog in multiple locations including central London and if we have ever been charged it’s never been close to that amount. We didn’t know of this charge before booking either… needs to be clearer.

From the moment we arrived at Gleneagles Townhouse, We were welcomed by the lovely Ewan, who made us feel right at home he took the time to personally show us to our room. What a lovely genuine man who gave us a perfect start to our stay! We spent the evening up at Lamplighters, the beautiful rooftop bar. The atmosphere was amazing, and the cocktails were even better. I had a Cosmopolitan made the classic 1934 way…just how I like it and made to perfection. Dinner at The Spence was fantastic, as always. We’ve eat here before, but this was our first overnight stay, and it won’t be our last. We stayed in one of the Town Rooms, which was stunning. Every detail was thought of. We returned after dinner to find the room turned down, soft jazz playing from a vintage radio, slippers by the bed, and a little sleepy spray beside the pillow such thoughtful little touches that really made the experience special. It’s those little things that truly make it. We had the best sleep, heading back to The Spence for a great breakfast. Every member of staff we met was kind, attentive, and just lovely..thank you to you all for making our stay memorable.

Excellent breakfast and the staff were great, in particular (sorry I didn’t catch his name) the bald gentleman with black framed glasses who was so kind and attentive without being overbearing. The breakfast food was also 10/10. Thank you to Irina too at the main reception- set a great tone from the beginning and gave me so many incredible recommendations for my stay! Housekeeping was also excellent, the turndown service was very well done and it felt like coming home to a little calm oasis every evening.

I didn’t like that there wasn’t anywhere to sort of lounge without being in the main dining restaurant. I know the rooftop bar was an option but it was full of people with laptops in the daytime (library vibes) which also wasn’t the right atmosphere, and there was nobody serving at that bar when I went up anyway so it all just seemed set up for these laptop people with self service water set up on the bar. Also would’ve liked more information on how to access the spa/wellness area and what facilities were available.

The decor was beautiful, very classy and chic. The staff was welcoming, although, at times, the number of people wishing us well was just a little bit too much (we value our quiet time). The bed was terrific. We asked for pillow recommendations; that's how great it was. The shower was excellent - much better water pressure and temperature than Gleneagles Hotel by Perth. Breakfast was delicious. The coffee was fantastic. We will most definitely return. The proximity to the town centre, car park, and all amenities was a cherry on top. Highly recommend. Our most favourite hotel/place in Scotland right now. Well done, Gleneagles Townhouse. Oh yes - Chromecast works perfectly (again - not the case with the other Gleneagles hotel), and room cleanliness was probably the best I've ever seen. The fresh fruit salad with pistachios in the morning was out of this world. Loving the freshness of the ingredients. The morning coffee was excellent. We are major coffee connoisseurs. The guys at the door and reception were fantastic and super friendly. The restaurant staff is also incredibly welcoming.

No chair or anywhere to sit in the room other than on the bed. Room 21 Nowhere to sit and dry your hair Incredibly hard to get confirmation for festive dining many emails, communication addressed to other guests etc which almost led us to cancel Weren’t permitted in members lounge apart from Christmas Day so nowhere comfortable to sit and relax on Boxing Day other than bars with bar seating. Festive Dinner was being rushed by waiter pressure to order all three courses at the start of the meal. Didn’t feel very 5* for the price paid.

The location is prime. It's in the center and 5 minutes from the station. The friendly Euan did our check in and took is to the wonderful room. I loved the room service in this hotel as they take care of the details and thier toiletriesand amenitiesare super. Kait is also very helpful feom reception. Our booking had the breakfast included so Steven handed the order and asvise the halal options. Also dinner is Spence is different experience with the deoctaive details and tasty food.

I wish they were information on the hotel and if the door bell men more quite as they are always talking.

We had to book the Townhouse last minute as we had to travel to Edinburgh a day early because of the storm, and we'd already booked elsewhere for the rest of our stay. We arrived very late but the next day because of the red weather warning we couldn't leave the hotel. Staff arranged a late checkout and allowed us to stay on until the storm cleared in one of their working areas, which was sincerely appreciated. We've stayed at Gleneagles and the Townhouse a couple of times before... and if budget allows, this is Edinburgh's finest place to stay!

Fantastic stay at the townhouse. Similarly to Gleneagles, the staff are wonderful and the attention to detail is superb. Every little thing they have thought of makes the stay that bit better. The food is also fabulous and good value for money, as are the mini bar prices. I don’t believe they are ripping you off, especially considering you’re in central Edinburgh. The history of the building is fascinating and the hotel itself is immaculate. I would absolutely recommend and hope to stay again!

Everything!! It was stunning from start to finish! Lovely and super friendly staff, beautiful style and decoration everywhere (lobby, bedroom, bathroom, breakfast area), absolutely fabulous breakfast (à la carte, which is true luxury!! much better than buffet), great atmosphere with lovely flowers and even an Easter chocolate egg in our bedroom with a handwritten note (amazing!!), perfect location. We loved everything!!
