We stayed there only for one night but it's a really nice hostel. Perfect location in the city center. Very friendly and helpful staff. Even though, beds in dorms have 3 'levels', they are very solid and you dont feel any movements. There is a complimentary breakfast, as well as coffee and tea.

It would be great to have shelves in the bathroom for putting clothes there instead of floor. Also, adding an extra sink would be nice as this space is a bit crowded.

Staff Are Super Friendly & Couldn’t be more helpful!! Location is fantastic right in the centre but on a back street so nice and quiet! The Hostel is a Great Price to include breakfast too!

The only draw back is there was only 2 working showers and 2 toilets so make sure you plan around busy times. Also if you want breakfast get in quick as the kitchen isn’t big enough for all and gets super hot.

Even though the breakfast is self-serve, we had several options: white/brown bread, cornflakes/bran cereal, milk, eggs, orange juice, butter, jam, ketchup, etc. The hostel is right in the city's heart, just a few minutes walk from the Royal Mile. Eating places are just a stone's throw away. The staff is friendly & helpful. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils & cutlery. We could even label our food and store it in the refrigerator for cooking later.

The mattress was a bit hard, only two showers were in working condition and the washbasins were super tiny.

Apart from the fact that everything was kept to a high cleaning standard, the staff really made the difference here. I'm quite picky when it comes to hostels but this place is quiet, welcoming and clean! All of that is down to the team that works here. From the second I checked in, there was a warm welcoming atmosphere that is calm and friendly. Dughall, the Tyronian guy with great music taste (I'm so sorry I didn't catch your name!!) and everyone else I met during my stay were the epitome of kindness. There was a constant good vibe whether that was during the day with friendly chat and craic with Dughall or at night when there was a quiet warm welcome from the night staff whose name I never got but always had a smile when I came in late and weary! Some other highlights: - The WiFi connection is great, which helps when you've got to get your work done or upload your photos at the end of the day. - There is complimentary tea and coffee available. Reception is 24/7, they'll store luggage for you. - The communal kitchen area is very pretty and a nice place to just chill. - There are good size lockers in the dorm. - The breakfast is a great option to have - cook your eggs as you like!

The spaces are a bit tight - especially the toilets/showers, but this is Edinburgh, not the States, space in these old buildings is hard to come by! There's no microwave. There's no lift so you need to be able to carry your luggage up a spiral staircase. There's no curtains on the bunk which is fine, but then you might be annoying people with your phone/night light! I wear a sleep mask and they provide complimentary ear plugs so noise/light was never a problem for me and I often slept though everyone else in the room's morning departure undisturbed!

The hostel has a great location just few minutes from the train station and in walking distance to all main attractions. I think it is the only hostel I lived in which provides breakfast - there are toasts, jams, cereals and eggs available. There is a common room with 24/7 tea/coffee. The staff is very helpfull with any issue or question. You can leave your luggage before check-in and after check-out. The rooms are quite modern and clean. Even though the hostel is very central, and there is a bar in the same building, there is no noise.

Be mindfull that there are 3 levels of beds. The towels and padlocks can be rented for extra charge. There are sometimes queues for showers and toilets, and very often at the sinks, as they are not very conveniently located. All of it is still manageable.

The location is excellent — just a short walk from the train station. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the check-in hours were very convenient.

I stayed in a shared dormitory room, so I was fully aware that the experience might depend on other guests. However, on my second night, a new guest arrived who had very poor personal hygiene — both she and her belongings had a strong, unpleasant smell, which made the stay extremely uncomfortable. I'm not sure to what extent the hostel can screen its guests, but I do believe there should be some basic hygiene standards in place in shared accommodations.

The location is perfect, you can explore entire Edinburgh by foot or public transportation. The area where the hostel is located offers a great amount of independent coffee shops, restaurants... You can explore the historic center and the new town. The hostel offers a shared kitchen which is very comfortable in use (just make sure you don't go in peak hours as there's not that much space). Very comfortable mattress, own reading lights available, own plugs.

Once a lot of people are in the bedroom, the wifi signal is a bit sketchy. The bathroom (showers+toilets) is quite small to be shared across all rooms.

Loved the location! Right in front of the train station and very easy to get to via the tram from the airport. Perfect for those with heavier luggage. Just a few minutes from the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle, and loads of shops and restaurants around. Couldn't have asked for better. Also appreciated the free breakfast- it was basic, but pretty filling and kept us going till lunch. The kitchen was also well stocked which allowed us to make our own dinner and save some money, which was great.

There were only three toilets and three showers for the entire hostel, which sometimes meant long wait times. The toilets were also pretty cramped, but I guess this is not really something about which they could do something.

location is amazing! close to everything . Staff is so sweet and helpful, they are amazing!

it is next to a construction site so it is very noisy, there was a homeless outside the hostel, the hostel is in the second floor and there is no elevator if you carry bags, the cleaniness is not that good, my room smelled a bit like pee unfortunately, the bathroom is so small that just 1 person can wash their hands at a time in the entire hostel. They could put some effort in making the breakfast more nutricious (I do not mean more expensive, just nutricious, bread, batter and cereal do not give any nutricional value alone)

Premise: it is an hostel. So, if we don't think about the alienating and trending PODS, it's normal to share a room with other strangers. Considering that in 2025 inflation is crazy and seems that is impossible to travel and stay between some walls for less than 60€, Baxter make a great service to traveler's community! Breakfast included in the price, minimal, but energic and autonomous... in this way people can also start having a chat.

In the ratio price-position-quality, I am satisfied.
