The location of the hotel was perfect. You’re not even a five minute walk from Waverley. The room was more spacious than we imagined and the staff were very friendly. Carlton Hill is next to it for perfect views of Edinburgh. Don’t miss the restaurant Howies on the corner, best food we ate in Edinburgh! We will definitely be back!

Everything was clean

The only thing I didn't really like is the way the man at the reception looked at my partner, who's from the middle East, when we went to check out in the morning. I know it was probably not on purpose and it was for a split second, and my partner didn't notice (he never does) but I did. I can't tell if it was fear or disgust but I know it wasn't my impression. I know we aren't your usual clients but we paid for our room, just like everyone else, so we don't deserve being looked at funny. I hope you get to remember some of us immigrants are here for very good reasons and we don't owe a single thing in here; we pay taxes and do our job just like anybody else. If a person cannot cope with seeing someone different then they shouldn't be sitting in a hotel reception.

Right in the city centre by Calton Hill. Close to all shops and the Playhouse Theatre. Room was really spacious and very clean!! Even had a wee view out of the window (stayed in Room 12). The Reception staff were brilliant, especially the lassie that showed me through to the hotel - she was so lovely, polite and smiley (which I loved!) Thank you to that receptionist - made me feel so welcomed into the hotel.

The only gripe I had was that there was no milk with the tea tray upon arrival, but it was very easily solved later on when I arrived back from being out for dinner. There was nothing after this that I didn’t like!

Beautiful accommodation almost in the city center. Excellent accessibility from the airport, with public transport stops all around; you can reach the main street on foot in just a few minutes. The hotel’s common areas are very nice, and while the rooms are small, they are completely adequate. We tried the Scottish breakfast and received a full plate of food, but on the other hand, it wasn't anything we couldn't find nearby for a lower price.

These are just minor details that didn’t spoil our overall enjoyment of the stay in any way. The bathroom fan was a bit disruptive, as it continued to hum for quite a while after being turned off. In the end, we dealt with it (especially at night) by removing the key from the power holder. The room was quite damp in the morning, and it was a pity that the windows couldn't be opened.

Very elegant and classic-feel hotel. Excellent location, near Princes Street and 5 minutes walk to Waverley Station. Also, across the street, the St. James Quarter shopping is a jack-of-all-trades with a lot of different shops (cellphone SIM cards, pharmacy, clothes) and places to eat until 10PM (in case you missed the regular hours for dinner in other places). The staff is very nice and helpful. Bed comfortable, nice shower with great caudal and great temperature, and the warming system with tubes in the wall for drying the towels or some minor clothes is awesome. Silent for sleeping.

It's not cheap but it is a good quality hotel. Also, Edinburgh is pricey for accommodation.

I was very satisfied with my stay at Parliament House Hotel. Here are some highlights: Excellent Location: Because it’s situated on the Royal Mile, I was within a short walking distance of Edinburgh’s historic and tourist attractions (the Castle, St. Giles’ Cathedral, Grassmarket, etc.). It’s also just a few minutes from Waverley Train Station, making it very convenient for getting around the city. Clean and Comfortable Rooms: The bed was comfortable, the sheets smelled fresh, and the bathroom was both hygienic and functional. The street noise was minimal, which helped me get a good night’s sleep. Friendly Staff: From the moment I arrived at reception, everyone was welcoming and attentive. The check-in and check-out processes were quick and efficient. They offered me useful tips about places to visit in the city and answered every question I had right away. Historic Atmosphere: The building itself is historic, and the décor in the corridors and lobby gives off a true “boutique hotel” feel. I appreciated how they balanced modern comforts with the hotel’s historic character. Complimentary Wi-Fi and Basic Amenities: The Wi-Fi connection was fast enough for work or planning my daily activities without any issues. If you’re looking for a centrally located, clean, quiet, and welcoming hotel in Edinburgh, I can confidently recommend Parliament House Hotel. Booking through Booking.com was seamless, and both check-in and check-out went smoothly. Overall, the hotel offered excellent value for the price.

I just want to mention that the heating system was sometimes stifling.

Upon arrival our hostess was very helpful and kind. Loved the tasty shortbread in our room. It was a nice little touch. It was our last night in Edinburgh and we couldn’t have ended our trip with a nicer place! Lovely view of Calton Hill from our room. Took a walk up for sunset before we came back to our room for a cozy night of sleep. Wonderful beds and bathroom. The shower was beautiful! They were helpful finding us transportation to the airport early in the morning. Our only complaint is that we didn’t stay there at the beginning of the trip when we arrived in Edinburgh. Lovely room! Lovely hostess!

There was a climb up the stairs but it was absolutely no problem for us. Could be an issue for others who do not wish to climb stairs.

Staff was at all times very helpful, especially when we needed help with the heat in our room. Housekeeping was flawless. The fireplace in the lobby was a godsend, as it was very cold in Edinburgh when we were there. The location makes it easy to walk to almost everywhere.

We went back to Parliament House for two reasons - the location, and the fabulous breakfasts we had there in 2017. (I have spent the last 7 years trying to duplicate the silky scrambled eggs we had there.) Alas, the cook has changed and the breakfasts were marginally edible. The first morning I ordered the Eggs Benedict Royale (with smoked salmon). The salmon had gone over and was quite inedible. The poached eggs were nicely cooked, but the Hollandaise sauce was runny and had no detectable flavor. The haggis was very unpleasant this time around, whereas before it was heavenly. The Continental breakfast was a safer option, but the pastries were consistently dried out. Very disappointing.

The staff here are all wonderfully kind and helpful. This was my favourite thing about staying here. I also think the price I got, for a fairly last-minute booking, was not bad, and the room was a good size, comfortable, and very clean. The hotel is housed in a beautiful, historic building and I simply loved the classic interior decoration. Very good location, pretty much right around the corner from the high street, although it is a bit of an uphill walk so make sure you wear good shoes. Lots of good restaurants on the same street. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would consider staying here again if I ever came back to Edinburgh.

The hotel's layout is a little complicated, especially for certain rooms. It can be confusing to navigate. Thankfully, after checking in one of the staff showed me to my room and then explained how to get to reception from there. There will be signs showing you the way to and fro, but again, it can take some getting used to.

Excellent location, right next to the tram and not far from the national gallery and a lot of great pubs and restaurants. The bed was also extremely comfortable, sockets right next to the bed too. Good heating the room was always very warm. Mirror and sink in bathroom were nice and big and the light in the bathroom was great.

Some parts need updating, the fridge wasn't cold, there was no toilet brush in the bathroom, the bath/shower combo was also quite small despite the big enough bathroom and the tv was very small
