Location was great, Hotel really good location for sightseeing.

Sadly the dining room was being refurbished when we stayed and the conference room was being used as the dining room on the same floor as our rooms. The strong smell of fish travelled throughout our rooms on seventh floor. The Wi-Fi was also weak in our rooms.

The hotel itself is a 6min walk from the train station and right in the heart of Edinburgh, there are loads of little cafes and cake shops dotted about from the second you walk out of the hotel itself. The staff were super helpful when we arrived before check-in time they happily sorted our bags until check-in time, allowing us to explore and grab some lunch before getting settled into the room. We didn't take advantage of the bar & restaurant on this visit but after seeing the stunning menu and drinks on offer we will be taking full advantage of it on our next visit. The room was amazing. The bath was incredibly deep and very easy to lose track of time in. The room itself was spacious, with the tea, mini fridge, filtered water air con. Everything made everything feel very comfortable. If you are after a great night's sleep I highly recommend their beds as it was hard to leave them in the morning. However if you do manage to leave the comfort of the beds I can say taking a morning dip in the pool is well worth the trip, don't fancy a swim then take advantage of the suna and steam room which will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. Highly recommend a visit, we've already rebooked for later on this year. Can't wait to stay again.

Things inevitably go wrong from time to time whenever (and wherever!) you travel, often due to circumstances beyond anyone's control. When that happened here, the staff went above and beyond to ensure this didn't affect our stay. They offered an alternative and, when they learnt this would not work for our family group, they took excellent care to ensure we're kept informed on the progress of rectifying the situation and checked up on us to ensure we're ok with how things were being managed. Travelling with kids can be stressful (even more so with kids with additional needs!) but little acts of care and kindness like these from the hotel staff can really help with managing these stresses.

Scottish weather! ;) On a serious note though, nothing to dislike at all. My only suggestion would be to install, if possible, the little drying machines for swimsuits at the pool but not sure how feasible this is or how environmentally friendly these machines are!

Brilliant location, plenty of space in the bedroom room and large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, hand/body soap and lotion in bathroom no chance of ever running out, comfy large bed. Breakfast plenty of choice and always tasty

Trying to add a service charge when ordering drinks at the bar in person, as 1st time having a drink in the bar we were told to take a seat in the bar and drinks were bought to us then the final bill had a 12.5% service charge added, so after that thought we’ll just order at the bar, but again the service charge was added but told them to remove which they did.

Location was close to train station and all the areas we wanted to visit. Slightly out of the way, but just a ten minute walk to most sites. :) Hotel was VERY clean, and the staff was kind. Pool and breakfast were both very nice!

There were only plugs on the one side of the bed for phones/chargers, and there was no plug in the bathroom for the hair dryer. Additionally, the front desk rarely answered the phones due to being "too busy" or having a "very long queue". We never received the complimentary milk/cream we asked for that was suggested on one of their cards in the fridge.

The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. David on reception was especially lovely and upgraded us to a better room, added on late check out and complementary breakfast as we were celebrating our 20th anniversary. The location is perfect, very central to all Edinburgh's attractions and the train station. The room was very nice with views over the rooftops. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and we had a great sleep. Great facilities, tea tray, good hairdryer and robes & slippers provided.

The shower was a little cold and it couldn't be turned up any hotter. The pool area was okay but a bit too cold for our liking.

The check in was quick and easy and staff made you feel so welcome. Breakfast was amazing. The bar staff were very attentive. In fact nothing bad to say about the staff they made us feel so welcome room was lovely.just had a really nice break can't wait to go back

Christmas Dinner was a massive let down it was Luke warm and when they took it to get heat up .I ended up with half my dinner which wasn't cheap .so I would not have Christmas Dinner again in hotel .the mattress was to soft but they are getting new mattresses next year.only wee thing I would say is please tell guests if it feather pillows as I have asthma and my asthma played up and it wasn't till the last night we realised it was feather pillows

You cannot beat this location just meters away from the top of Princes Street, with easy access to all the major shops, sightseeing destinations, and loads of restaurants both on the street and at St James center right next door. The staff were very attentive. The rooms were large, given the location, quiet as they are double glazed, and very comfortable. Good AC and water etc provided. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and service was excellent, as was the food.

We had booked three rooms, and in one of the smaller rooms, the window blind didn’t fully cover the bedroom window, which meant that there was some light coming through. The hotel does not have any parking, so you will need to park nearby, which can be expensive.

Delicious breakfast with lots of choice all freshly cooked. Good service in a comfirtable dining room. Small things like exchanging their glass water bottles for more fresh water worked really well. The hotel also offered to bring fresh milk up to the room too when requested. All toiletries were of a high quality and refilled promptly. We also enjoyed a dip in the pool, all clean and well maintained.

We stayed in a spacious superior room which had a small single bed to one side. Staff did offer to remove this as we were a couple. An extra comfortable chair and small table woukd have been a nice addition to make thr room even more comfortable.

Firstly, the staff were very accommodating and friendly and took care of our questions and requests. The location was perfect, minutes away from the town and restaurants. Aesthetically, the hotel is very well kept, very clean and fresh looking, excellent room with huge ceilings and bed. The shower and bathroom facilities were brilliant as well as the gym, steam room and pool along with the towels and little things that add to the experience.

The room itself was incredibly warm even with the air conditioning on and we requested an additional fan which was sorted out immediately.
