The location is superb, and very secure behind a code entry gate. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and has all the facilities you would expect from a self catering room. The bed was comfy and came with memory foam pillows and super light, but warm, duvet. The bathroom was lovely, with a waterfall style shower. All the cleaning products and self care products are eco friendly brands which was a nice touch. The heelan coos were beautiful!

I would have preferred some way to control the temperature of the room myself without having to message owners. A couple of times it was very warm when we arrived back in the evening. It would have been good to actually meet someone upon arrival. I appreciate that for some they would rather just be left alone, but being able to put a face to a faceless message for me would have been a positive. I found the dinner plates a little on the small side (they are only just big enough for a sandwich), so i would advise looking to provide larger plates. Something small but a pizza slicer would be a good addition to the cutlery drawer.

Nice farm stay, the parking is onsite and free which is a bonus. The cows in the paddocks were the highlight, although I wish they were a bit closer because that is why we chose to stay at this property. We would stay here again on our next visit.

The smoke alarm is located virtually right above the cooktop so every time you cook the smoke alarm goes off. Understandably the smoke alarms are necessity and requirement, however unfortunate that you have to keep the door open to cook so as not to set it off. Would be cold to do so in the cooler months.

We had a lovely relaxing long weekend. The views when you wake up are stunning. Me and my wife have never slept better the mattrass on the bed was amazingly comfortable! Having the automated gates made you feel extremely safe. The welcoming package was a lovely touch too.

It was a struggle to eat in. One hot plate and a convection microwave. I can see it would be difficult to have a cooker but it is the only thing that let it down. If you are tall and a bigger built person you will struggle with the shower as it is very tight.

Lovely spacious lodge, beautiful countryside scenery outside our window including super cute highland cows! Lodge very clean and cozy, bed very comfortable. Peaceful and quiet surroundings. Easy check in, all details on directions, lodge and codes emailed to us the day of arrival including assigned lodge parking. 25-30 minute drive to Edinburgh city centre and local town has plenty of shops and restaurants.

Slightly difficult to find the entrance as on 60mph road with no street lights. But has a sign at the entrance of the property.

1. Left alone - no one to deal with for checkin etc. 2. Very tranquil location. 3. Loved the highland cattle outside 4. They have dogs, but they never, ever made any noise at all. Very weel trained

1. Car is def required - Haddington is a mile away and requires walking on the verge, which at night, after a few shandies, could be dangerous 2. AC would help as it did get very hot this summer and the lodhe seemed to really heat up, even at night. 3. The driveway is blind, so pulling out in rushour would be challenging.

Excellent location, not far to the city and just down the road from a lovely town. Room felt secure, clean and had everything we needed. The cows, of course, made it even better. They have a large area they are free to roam but we still found them outside our lodge at least once a day. We loved hearing them mooing and watching them being cheeky trying to get into areas their owners were working!

Bed was slightly too soft for my liking but did not affect my overall stay

The surroundings were stunning , and the cows well they were stunning , but gutted they were never in the field right outside our lodge but honestly they were beautiful - the bed was probably the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in in a hotel ! The shower was also brilliant .

There was a huge damp stain on the carpet , it may have been from just the previous guests but it was pretty unsightly , the walls also so thin could hear next door talking which is what it is but worth mentioning .

Self contained lodge, great shower, toiletries all eco, clean and tidy and well organised. Bed and pillows very comfy. Heating made room cosy. Microwave kettle and toaster all worked, fridge could have been colder. Oven and hob were old, hobs didn’t work but there was a single hob gadget that did work. Loved seeing the highland cows. Car parking well arranged. Felt safe due to electric gate on property.

It looked and felt a bit weary, and in need of a general spruce up. See above regarding kitchen equipment. Saw a gentleman on site coming from main house - did not interact or even smile or wave at us when coming and going which we thought was a bit rude.

We weren’t provided with breakfast. We were happy to cater for ourselves. The location is perfect for us as it’s very close to Haddington where we were attending concerts in the Lammermuir Festival.

A casserole dish would have been useful as we like to cook our own meals. Also we found the microwave to be difficult to use as there were no instructions. Nor were there any for the television which was much more sophisticated than we’re accustomed to. Simple instructions as to how to reach BBC 1 would have been helpful. However the owner very kindly spent some time showing us how to use it. We felt that the lodge would benefit from having lights in the kitchen area. Also the light in the fridge didn’t work.

This is a great location just outside of Haddington and a short drive of around 20 minutes to Edinburgh. Haddington is a beautiful town with great eating places such as Diggory's and the Waterside Bistro. St. Mary's Church was completed in 1462 and is a must see. There were four lodges at this quiet, pastoral location. There is ample parking available. The lodge we stayed in was comfortable for two persons and was equipped with a kitchenette and a good bathroom facility. There are also four Highland Cows in the pastures nearby. You cannot touch them or feed them but having them nearby was a nice experience. Check in was easy and accomplished remotely. We never had contact with the host in person and that was fine.
