Would recommend staying in the suite, big comfy bed, bath tub in the room plus your own private terrace with hot tub and sauna! Sun trap in the morning too Clean and plenty of towels plus robes. Nice addition of the coffee machine. Staff really friendly and helpful when we had to arrive late after a wedding

Hot water in the room didn't work, had to have a cool shower. Breakfast was included and really good options but took an hour for the food to arrive. Not busy with tables but I assume understaffed in the kitchen

The bed was exceptionally comfortable in the deluxe room, bath at the end of the bed seemed strange but my wife liked it. The bathroom had a nice spacious shower which was nice, however, some of the floor tiles were a little loose in the bathroom. The staff were amiable, we had our evening meal in the restaurant and it was very nice, and breakfast was very nice too. A short drive from Edinburgh city centre, the price was it was worth it, you could spend more on a city hotel but the Sun Inn was really worth it.

There were some toothpaste streaks on the wall tiles in the bathroom and a cobweb on the ceiling. Overall cleanliness was good but it could have been better. There was nowhere to control the heating, if there was we didn't see it.

The breakfast was good and the service was very good. Each member of staff was helpful, polite and friendly. I liked the setting for breakfast and the open fire was a welcome touch on a distinctly autumnal morning. This is a lovely place to stay and convenient for road travel to all points.

The bar and restaurant closed at 10pm so when I returned at 10.10 thinking I would enjoy a 'nightcap' at the bar I was disappointed. All was in darkness downstairs. Access to my room upstairs was fine but I would have returned a little later had I known in advance. I didn't think to ask when I checked in.

Very nice food in their restaurant including the free breakfasts. Staff were very friendly Loads of parking spaces Amazingly powerful shower Close to Edinburgh and Newcraighall park and ride.

Loud busy road but shutting the window helped. I guess there is nothing they can do about that. It was very warm on of the days and we could have the window open due to the road and the fan provided was very loud.

The staff were fantastic and caring The breakfast was excellent (had the porridge with Heather honey) Bedroom/bathroom was clean + bed was huge and comfy! Outside door to upstairs bedrooms so don't have to go through the pub Half hour away from Edinburgh

Pillows were very soft so I didn't sleep well because of it. Shower screen was an inch above the bath so water flooded the bathroom

The bedroom was dated room 1 The bed swayed back and forward Extension cables and cables hanging out behind the tv A few small holes in walls In need of a paint job Bathroom shelf missing just holes Room 3 no issues

Easy to find off the A7/A68 from Newcastle, lovely little pub, didnt eat at night as had tickets for the military tattoo but the breakfast was really tasty and beds comfy.Great location for transport/trains to Edinburgh 5mins by car and there is a bus you can get aswell.

Door didn't shut/fit on bathroom which seemed an easy fix by someone bit being a couple wasn't really a issue

The staff were lovely young people, polite and responsive to requests Great Shower Good food

Lighting poor in bedroom . needs bedside table lamps Remote for TV wasn’t working properly. Had to manually alter channel and volume intermittently. Poached egg at breakfast was waterlogged Toast was burnt. Had to send it back, second attempt was only done on one side. Sourdough toasted on a grill plate I think Have marmalade and jam on tables at breakfast please No overnight staff on site a bit of a worry

We had a wonderful 3 night stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping came each day. Breakfast was amazing, hot tasty and plentiful. Service from all the staff was superb. Evening meals in the pub restaurant was of a high standard. Lovely location with great walks. 20 min walk to the station into Edinburgh. We would definitely stay again.

Radiator needed more power

The actual inn was great, staff, dining, lounge. Our room was good, smallish, comfy bed but no where to hang clothes. We asked fr 2 hangers to use on the bathroom door hook. Bus stop was 10 min walk & frequent buses. Return bus from Edinburgh at 11pm so u need a taxi/Unber back if staying late.

No where to hang a few clothes.
