Really clean, very comfortable room with excellent facilities (including tea, coffee, shortbread) and a a classic Scottish trio of Iron Bru, Tunnocks wafer bar and tea cake, brilliant. Stayed here before travelling to a job in Leith at a time when central Edinburgh accommodation all way above normal prices. A much better bet, cheaper, much better quality (than places centrally normally at this sort of price) and close, if travelling by car.

Decor was quirky but possibly not to everyone’s taste. We wanted to visit Roslin chapel which is literally just over the road, so that was great. We were driving so getting in to Edinburgh is also easy - about 30 min drive depending on traffic, weather etc. accommodation has its own limited parking but plenty of on street parking outside. Cafe downstairs and pub across the road also very convenient.

The cafe downstairs is run by the same team as the accommodation and when the cafe is busy getting the attention of the house manager could take some time. Room was unbearably hot on arrival but easily remedied - all radiators can be guest controlled.

Stay was comfortable. Easy access to city centre with good public transport

Manager guy was a bit rude . Check out was at 10 .30 Told the room service girls that we would check out in 15 minutes by 10.45 . Manager guy (not mature ) he came again knocking the door second time asked us to clear out in 5 minutes @ 10.38 . Reception girl was lovely..she explained us about the town and would give her full points .

Nice small guest house, cute cafe in the building and a good restaurant just opposite the street. Comfortable room; parking down the street is available.

A little bit pricey, but I assume that’s because of the Edinburgh tattoo this weekend.

All the staff were lovely, and ideally located near the bus stop to get into Edinburgh. We stayed here last year and it has been renovated since then and is looking great. Breakfast available from the cafe downstairs with lots of delicious options. Very quiet area.

A few of us found the beds too firm so struggled to sleep. Cafe opens at 9am so not ideal if you are an early riser, though it didn't bother us.

Our room was quite spacious and very comfortable. It was a bit stuffy, but the windows opened and we had a nice breeze. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend Chapel Cross Guesthouse to folks who want to explore Edinburgh but not deal with a city stay.

Situated in Roslin just down the road from the Rosslyn chapel. Although there is no breakfast option with this accomodation there is Dolly's cafe attached to the property where you can grab some breakfast. Across the street is a pub and restaurant for evening meals or you can go further afield. Edinburgh is about 25 minutes by car or about an hour on the bus #37 £5 for adult day pass. Check-in was through Dolly's cafe. We had room 4 which was large with en suite shower room, clean tastefully decorated and comfortable bed. Good road links to Stirling Edinburgh and if your an "outlander" fan there are lots of filming locations in the area Doune castle being the furthest about 2 hours away.

Only one of the sash windows could be opened, but there was enough air flow so it was fine. Buses are very regular and pass right past the hotel so can be a little noisy but not unbearable.

Beautiful room with a lovely bed and quality pillows. The inn opposite is a great option for dining. Location is perfect for a visit to Rosslyn Chapel - 4 mins walk away.

Bathroom was compact but at least it had a mirror light unlike so many hotels these days. Shame the tearoom wasn't open early enough to provide a breakfast option before we had to leave.

We were upgraded to a lovely bedroom which was very comfortable. The lady that booked us in was very friendly and gave us information on eating and what to do when were leaving. All together it was a lovely experience.

Could not turn the heating on when we returned to our room. The radiators were turned on.

The room and staff were lovely! Breakfast was great. Housekeeping kept everything well stocked :)

I couldn't adjust my own heating (set to a thermometer outside of the rooms) so that was a bit sad trying to warm up after being out in rain all day. Someone did try to sort this for me in fairness but it didn't work haha. The pillows weren't the most supportive either, they're the kind that go really flat when you lie on them. Aside from these couple of points I had a really lovely stay.
