Nice location, perfect as a base from which to explore the east coast. Room was very nice, tastefully curated, impeccably clean with a very comfortable King bed where we had expected a double. Food while limited in choice was superbly cooked and presented.

No privare parking and street parking was difficult at times. Stair access to rooms was a tad steep for us elderly types, but we managed with care. The bathroom was very spacious and thoughtfully designed. Unfortunately on the morning of our departure, the hot water was reduced in flow and was at best, luke warm. The shower was damaged with a broken valve lever which had clearly been repaired before although operable.

Upon arrival, we got a warm welcome from the staff, and check-in was quick and easy. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable, and the food served in the pub, including breakfast, is excellent quality and good value. While the pub is clearly popular with local residents, we heard no extra noise when in our room. There is a train station a few minutes away on foot, and it is served by trains which go directly to and from Edinburgh. East Linton itself is a quiet, charming village, 10-15 minutes away from Dunbar and North Berwick which have beaches and other attractions.

The nearby church bell is loud, but it does not ring during the night. The shower's water temperature was a little inconsistent. If your room is on the second floor, there are some low ceilings, even for shorter people like myself.

The room we stayed in was lovely, nicely appointed with a superb bathroom. There was a great Breakfast Menu. The fresh berries and granola were delicious. We also ate dinner at the Crown on two nights. The menu is varied with a choice of pub favourites (including fish and chips, burger, etc) and some more healthy options (e.g., pan fried salmon). The beef roast on Sunday was delicious and for those with a sweet tooth, there is a good choice of desserts. There is a reasonable choice of wines and all are available by the glass. The staff too were very good, attentive, helpful and friendly. Overall, highly recommended.

Very friendly staff, Room (Town Square) was excellent and as per photographs, nice touches of coffee pods as well as usual Nescafe. Comfy bed with plenty of bedding and the room was spotless The bathroom was spacious with a bath and separate shower. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked to order. We had a meal one evening and it was top quality, slightly limited menu but cooked to order and plentiful

A very small niggle but the room was slightly cool when we came back after being out all day. The radiators were only luke warm.

Lovely place - the staff were so friendly. We ate in the restaurant before we went to a wedding and then again in the morning. Delicious food and efficient, happy staff. Comfy beds and lovely shower.

The room was a tad hot and we couldnt work out how to open the window. Also, not very suited for tall people (hubby is tall at 6ft 4 which I know is bigger than most) but going up and down the stairs and trying to avoid the emergency light was difficult. Could have done with a mirror type dressing table with a seat to do my makeup / hair.

Lovely quirky place, the room was great and comfortable. Bathroom was nice and breakfast was fantastic The staff were super accommodating, we forgot to check in or notify them we would arrive late (coming from a wedding nearby) and they didn’t make any issues. That was very appreciated!

There were no blackouts so we didn’t get much sleep I wasn’t aware the bathroom was outside the room, it may have been in the booking and I failed to see it. But luckily the hotel provided bathrobes

This is a wee gem of a place. A lovely spacious and quiet room in the centre of the village with everything you could want. Then a place to eat downstairs with local pub atmosphere but great and reasonably priced food and wine. There are nice walks nearby and the bus and train are within waling distance of The Crown. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

That I had to leave!!

Had nearly everything required. Well kitted out kitchen including tea and coffee supplied. Great shower pressure and an abundance of towels. Very comfy beds. Outdoor table and chairs, which was great. Caretaker was really helpful and the pub staff were nice and friendly. Although they had just closed their kitchen they were fantastic in rustling up fish and chips for 4 very hungry guests!

No hanging rail in master bedroom and very little drawer space in all bedrooms. Not an issue as we were only staying 2 nights but it would be helpful for longer stays.

Food and staff were excellent

We were in the fountain room. This is the second time we have stayed. The only negative is there is an external light on the wall right beside window. There is a shutter blind but this doesn't keep out the light which shines directly into the room. Because of this we didn't sleep well. A big request, can the shutter blind be replaced with a decent black out blind....then this would be a perfect venue!

Excellent location and the total experience was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and went out of their way to make your stay memorable. Billy was especially helpful in securing me taxi rides to the various golf courses I was playing. Will definitely recommend it to anybody who is looking to explore this special area.

The only complaint I have is the tv is too small. We Americans do like our monster tv’s. However, not exactly a Deal breaker!
