As many reviewers mentioned, truly unique. For us up with a longhouse in Sarawak and timber cabin in Alaska. Host were excellent, brief introductory tour and then on our own. Wife found stone circular stairs a challenge but our hosts had provided a plentiful selection of food. Covered both evening meal and breakfast.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Fa’side castle. It is definitely a unique experience to stay in a building with so much history. The location is excellent as well. It is a quick 20 min drive to the city of Edinburgh. I really enjoyed the hospitality offered by Sue and Ian. The breakfast spread in the room allowed us to start our day exploring the Scottish highlands and Edinburgh on the right note.

The castle was an amazing experience! The great room was full of culture and history. The bedroom was gorgeous! The bed was huge and even had heated blankets on both sides that could be turned on separately. The roof top views were even better than on top of Arthur’s seat in Edinburgh!

The only thing we wish was that we spent more time there to explore the grounds out in the beautiful countryside

You are staying in a castle that is older than your home country. While that might seem enough the warm hospitality, the hearty fire and the cozy bed made this a night one does not soon forget.

Due to our job we booked kind of late and as a result only got one night due to other reservations but would have liked to stay more.

Spectacular place, honestly it was way nicer then I thought it was going to be. The owner was super friendly and knowledgeable about the property. A little out of town but easy to reach with a train and a little taxi ride but so calm and peaceful after the chaos that is Edinburgh.

Staying in an actual castle is a really amazing experience, we had use of the Great hall, upstairs bedroom and rooftop. The medieval tower has so much character, loved the spiral stairs. Owners are lovely and we really couldn't have asked for more

Absolutely nothing

Everything was phenomenal, including the room, location, views, comfort, space, cleanliness, and hosts. Staying here has been one of my favorite travel accommodations and experiences.

We loved our stay. Our hosts were very welcoming! They provided such yummy food. We had a great time.

We had a few bugs in the area. Only negative!

Provisions for breakfast were superb and varied. Having our own lounge with an immense history was immeasurable. Hosts were excellent.

Not keen on stone spiral staircase, but if taken slowly were manageable for two fit people. These had to be negotiated to access Lounge, Bedroom and Roof area from which there were magnificent views all around.
