Staff were exceptional, atmosphere was homely, friendly, warm and inviting. The little bar area was lovely. Bed was comfortable and there was everything we needed for a two night stay. Breakfast was lovely, as were our two evening meals. Fantasric location to walk to train station, which was why we stayed here. Also room was quiet.

Our room was listed as a small double and it was pretty small wirh basic decor.

The location of the hotel is great. A short walk from the railway station, and close to town for a restaurant. My room was comfortable and breakfast was served very promptly- I had to catch an early train and I was at the station in good time. I wasn't able to eat at the hotel as it was already fully booked - my fault for not reserving a table in good time.

Everything went well, though my receipt hasn't yet appeared in my emails.

Excellent food, both dinner and breakfast. It was the crispiest batter on fish I have ever had! Location easy walking distance from sea.

Shower area had a lot of discolouration at ceiling height. Very few parking spaces on site. We were very lucky to get last space when arriving mid-afternoon.

Central Hotel, extremely nice staff who are very considerate kind and friendly. The food is excellent especially the giant Yorkshire pudding beef steak

I was in room 15 which is above an oriental takeaway and the smell was present in the room

The breakfast and dinner were delicious. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much for them. Lovey location. Room was ok for the price.

Our toilet did constantly run and we had to re flush a few times to get it to stop and the bed was split. The leg had fallen off and when we fixed it there was a lot of stour and a couple of sweetie wrappers. So I don’t think it had been cleaned underneath for a while, but overall it was clean.

Lovely, welcoming, friendly, helpful staff. The room was very clean with everything you could want. The toiletries were perfect and the tea / coffee tray was well stocked. I LOVED the bath towel. I think it was the biggest, thickest towel I've ever seen!!!

Great position in the town. Bar and staff were nice and the meals were exceptional, dinner and breakfast. Bed and room were brilliant.

Room was kinda cold, I know it was January but considering the radiator was up full we didn't want to leave the bed in the morning.

Elegant, quiet and comfortable room, newly-fitted bathroom, warm welcome and plenty of help from staff, location close to the station, superb full Scottish breakfast and within a few minutes' walk from the town centre and ancient harbour. Late on a rainy night, the warm glow from the bar through the steamy windows was a welcome sight.

Corridors a little shabby, but it's an old hotel.

Great location at top of town. Really nice staff. Steak Pie yummy.

Small car park Walls in need of paint refresh. Pizza place across road really noisy until 0130 with people talking. Damn those seagulls squawking in the early morning. 5 hrs sleep not enough.

Breakfast good. They allowed me to order non-menu. items . Evening meals simple but very good . Beer was good too.

Parking could have been better. Had to park on-street a couple of nights
