We were kindly upgraded to the newly renovated room, and WOW it was bloody amazing! I (unknowingly) turned the shower on the cold setting… I didn’t want to bother reception, as they seemed very busy; However, after I called down (reluctantly( - the lovely gentleman instantly come upstairs and ‘fixed’ it & politely/subtly pointed out my error. What a lovely guy! After we checked out, he kindly allowed us to leave our car in the car park, allowing us to explore Dunbar with ease! 10/10 facilities & hospitality! Will definitely be back, 100% SENSATIONAL (Love from the Geordie Couple) :) A hidden gem, to say the least!

Genuinely… NOTHING. Words fail me, it is fantastic. 👏

Excellent food (breakfast and dinner) in a comfortable dining area. Beautifully appointed room, comfortable bed. Nice area near the ocean, close to our family event, nearby shop.

Lack of counter space in the bathroom. Unexpected that we had to carry our bags up stairs. No refrigerator in the room. We didn't realize that the breakfast we ordered the night before would be ordered every day of our stay. We thought we were to order day by day. The owner seemed a little miffed when we didn't show up for breakfast on the 2nd day.

The whole atmosphere was amazing, so relaxing and comfortable.

The only downside was on the morning of our second breakfast was extremely uncomfortable due to the man who was serving. He was very noisy and was always close by, we felt harassed to eat our breakfast quickly. The breakfast, eggs benedict, was definitely not worth £15 as the muffin wasn't toasted properly and cold, instead of bacon it was cold ham and this made the meal cold. This was a shame as the previous morning the meal was so enjoyable, tasty and relaxing a lovely way to start the day.

I stayed 2 nights. The hotel is a short walk from town and I felt safe making the walk, even at night. Room and hotel were clean and well presented. Really comfortable bed, good layout to room. Good sized bathroom with plenty towels /toiletries. Good full sized hair dryer to use. Plenty of space to change /store clothes. Decent full size ironing board and iron to use. Nice selection of tea/coffee in room. Slept well - not noisy or too hot/cold. Food was excellent - breakfast was very well cooked and amazing quality. Well organized system - didn't feel rushed or crowded, and breakfast arrived quickly (you are asked to pre-order breakfast choice and times at check-in). I had dinner one evening, again it was really good quality and great service, and would recommend booking a table if staying in hotel. Staff were great - chatty and friendly, asking about plans. Really put me at ease, which is not always the case when staying somewhere alone. I would say the staff were really excellent - especially the woman working Fri Eve dinner service, and the Irish woman working breakfast on Sat morning. They stood out, but all staff I spoke to were friendly and professional.

Very minor points that did not detract from overall very positive experience - no placemats on dining tables, so when cutting food the plates spin around or moved around the table. A very, very minor thing, but something that may be easy to think about. - no anti-slip bathmat in bathroom. The bath gets pretty slippy when using soap/conditioner - there is a grab rail but a bathmat would make it feel safer. To be fair I did not ask about bathmat, and perhaps they are available of requested. Again, I stress there are very minor points. And in no way detracted from the very positive experience I had.

Food was good especially dinner in The Grill which we would have used more had it been open more. Continental Breakfast was good value, cooked not such good value if not ordering all optional items. The only downside to such god food was the lingering smell pervading the rest of the hotel - didn't bother us but visitors commented so I am mentioning it here.

We had trouble getting a good second shower from the shower in room 1 and should have mentioned it sooner. Although we were told it had been looked at it actually didn't even work properly for the first person's shower the next day.

I liked just about everything at this friendly, comfortable hotel. My wife and I (and our dog) were welcomed warmly, and shown to our very convenient ground-floor room. It had an extremely comfortable king-size bed, two armchairs and a good television. The bathroom was very roomy, and the shower (electric) was easy and effective. The breakfast was substantial and tasty, and our lucky dog had a sausage served just for him. Dinner on the evening we dined in was lovely and the waiters were friendly and attentive. A great place to stay!

Well, the Dunmuir is good but nowhere's perfect. The muddy drive and car-park are not good if you have a dog. Breakfast, although very nice, is overpriced (I think) at nearly £14, and sadly, the restaurant was closed on the evening we arrived after a long drive, so we had to go out on a very cold night to find a dog-friendly establishment. And why a half-size hand-basin in such a spacious bathroom? Not easy for a big man to use without getting water everywhere!

I was greeted warmly on arrival, and I found staff friendly throughout my stay. Despite the hotel being busy, my room was extremely quiet. Travelling with my dog, I was pleased to see how well he was received on the premises, including the restuarant.

I booked a table for an early supper on my first evening, but my enjoyment of the meal was marred by the behaviour of young child in the dining room, who spent most of the time shouting and crying. While her parents may be accustomed to and more tolerant of this kind of behaviour, it is certainly not what I had expected, and I was very disappointed.

Very friendly staff. Food in restaurant for dinner was exceptionally good. The flavours were incredible. 5 stars. Breakfast was very good also. Highly recommend eating here. I booked a basic room, so am only able to comment on that. The room was as described. Only disappointment was the shower pressure, but that's only because I prefer a high pressure shower, otherwise room was as described and acceptable. The description of room stated there would be noise in the evening and morning in my room. This was very minor and purely cleaning up noise after dinner and bar service had closed in the evening and in the morning it was noise of movement during breakfast service, so clearly my room was below the restaurant. This was all in the description of the room, so i have zero complaints about it as it was less than I'd expected. Easy and friendly check in and check out service. Great location.

As I said above, the shower pressure could be improved and maybe a bedside lamp added.

The room was large, spotless, airy and very comfortable with chair arrangement by the window perfect to relax. The bed was SOOOOO comfortable, large, with the pillows just the right softness. As to the breakfast, then a nice range of options (the potato scone particularly nice), though possibly more indication of vege options beyond the egg (sausage etc) , but we were very satisfied with the variety. The "wee bar" was very homely and perfect for a drink before bed, with those behind the bar chatty.

The only thing which was on the first night only was that were were a little cold, so possibly a blanket might have been useful as an extra, but did put the radiator on. However, after mentioning it to the cleaner the following day, were were very pleased to see the radiator on when we came back from walking and it was on all night, for which i was very impressed and thankful, as I suffer from an immune deficiency and feel the cold. Hats off the hotel for being sensitive to the customers wishes.

Lovely hotel near to shops and restaurants also near to North berwick for a visit. The room was comfortable and had all you would need for a pleasant and relaxing stay. The breakfast was good and set you up for the day. Would stay here again in coming to this area.

The only thing that I personally would have liked a non slip mat for the bath for showering but I should have asked for one.
