The host Carly was very friendly and made us feel very welcome in her establishment. All the staff where brilliant and very attentive. The bar and dining area was very clean, well organised, spaciouse and decorated very tastefully. The food was excellant, especially the cows cheek, as I have never had it before and was very tasty (compliments to the chef). The portion size of the food was very generouse and reasonably priced. The room was quite large and the bathroom also with all the ammenities we required. The room was also equiped with a small fridge that the host had placed a bottle of milk and water in for our needs and replenished daily, which we thought was a nice touch. All in all, a great stay at the Juniperlea Inn and would recomend to anyone who would visit the Edinburgh area. Regards, Garry and Liz.

We had a warm welcome, a delicious evening meal and a really nice room. The bed was super comfy. I found the duvet a wee bit warm for summer but that's just personal preference and doesn't reflect on it's quality. All the bed linens and towels were lovely and the bathroom new and good water pressure in the shower. Everything was spotless with lots of extra touches. Loved having the little fridge with fresh milk, orange juice, yoghurts & water. There was a tray with a choice of cereals, muesli, croissants , jams etc to assemble our own continental breakfast (which is what the Juniperlea Inn includes). This suited us perfectly as we had to be away early and we wouldn't have time to fit in a 'sit down' breakfast. We left at 7.30am and were in the Grassmarket at 8.10am, it was an easy journey into Edinburgh even in the rush hour. If you have transport why stay in a city centre chain hotel with no parking and pay double! Much better to support an independent business. It's a lovely wee place and we'd certainly stay again.

I can't fault it really! One thing I should point out is if you have the window open you may have some road noise as it's near a busy trunk road. But with the window shut it's fine.

It was close to the venue we were going to a wedding at. They had exactly the perfect 3 rooms for 7 of us for two nights, including two children. Very comfortable rooms. Staff we met were excellent and very helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant one night which was good and there is a bar too. Plenty of parking space.

A continental breakfast, with a choice of cereals, fruit, orange juice, croissants, muffins, jam, and tea/coffee, was provided each morning in the bedrooms- which was fine - but there was only one chair in each room , so one of us had to sit on the bed which wasn’t ideal.

The bedrooms and bar area were excellent. We stayed for one night after golfing and attending the Scottish open. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent quality.

The bar closed at 10am and whilst we were residents for the evening were told we had to sit outside to finish our drinks .Good job it was a warm evening but this needs looking at.We also booked with breakfast and were told it wasn't included and we should take this up with booking.com as a £8 supplement pp should be refunded .Shame these 2 issues dampened what is a great place to stay

Check in was great and the staff are so friendly, taking the time to chat and make a fuss of the dog. The room is small but well appointed and feels secure with the integrated key pad lock. Lovely linens. Dinner on the first night was good although the restaurant was almost empty which was a shame, as it lacked atmosphere. It's great to have the access at the rear, without traipsing through the bar. Location is good, nice and close to Edinburgh without the cost. It was pretty desolate when we were there so we probably didn't see the best of it.

I hadn't understood that breakfast was essentially just in the room upon arrival so it's pre packaged pastries, cereal etc but with fresh milk and orange juice.

Juniperlea was a perfect stop for us not wanting to pay high priced stays to visit Edinburgh, but still being close enough to “pop in” and in the right direction of A1(s). The property was clean and cosy. The tv worked really well and allowed us to fully unwind. Great selection in the room for breakfast and incredible how quiet it is at night! Our pooch loved the farm track out the back for Walkies.

Liked everything! Only suggestion as a fan sleeper is a fan! Haha. But that’s a me problem, not Juniper! :-)

The inn itself is beautiful and quaint, nestled in the countryside just outside of Edinburgh. Graham and Carly, our hosts, were so friendly and charming. We actually accidentally kept them past closing because we were having such a fun conversation! The room is larger than any B&B I've stayed in and the offerings at the restaurant are fresh and delicious. It's easy enough to get to Edinburgh as the local bus picks you up right in front of the inn. They are currently building an addition that will boast 3 more lovely rooms, including a bridal suite, and a wedding venue. We plan to return to stay whenever we are back in the area. Just a couple things to keep in mind... if you plan to stay late in the city, the last bus back leaves at 17:00( 7pm) so you will need to hire a car and the inn is more of a B&L/D. If you're looking for a full English or Scottish breakfast, a 15 min walk down the road is a cafe serving up what you need. Thank you so much, Graham and Carly! We hope to see you stateside.

That we were unable to stay longer.

Great interior design - so much thought has gone into renovation and decoration of this Inn - just beautiful ! Great food at the restaurant too !

Unfortunately, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and there was no staff available on the premises and the owners didn’t answer their phones…. We, as guests, had to call for the fire brigade ourselves, in order to take care of the situation ….. definitely stressful for the guests and NOT an ideal situation !

Lovely room and good location to then get to Edinburgh

Getting in if you arrive late can be a bit tricky as there aren’t staff around and it can be difficult to get hold of someone if it’s very late (took us 20 mins) and you can’t get the number lock to work, which was the problem we had. That said there are a couple of phone numbers on the notice and Graeme did call us back, was very helpful and we got it sorted curtesy of the ‘C’ button to reset it a few times.

Lovely cosy country atmosphere, beautifully decorated and well presented, attention to deal in the restaurant/pub area. Pleasant small corridor to the bedrooms. Considering its beside a main road, there was minimal noise from the traffic. Continental breakfast in the bedroom was great, with a good selection and nice fresh orange juice. We stayed here after our visit to the Royal Highland show it was only a 30-minute drive, which was very easy to find. We arrived 10 minutes before they were about to close the kitchen but they accommodate use and let us order a meal which was beautiful cooked. Service was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.
