We were in an adjacent family room (one room with bunk bed and the other with a double bed), which was great and convenient. The curtain cut out the daylight well so we had good sleep; the only downside might be they were slightly dusty - we opened the window a bit so it was fine. The toilet and bath were beautiful. The hotel offered a very cute bottle for sherry for the guests. We booked a table for dinner at the restaurant and the food and wine were great - with Scottish ingredients. Breakfast were very nice and good size too. The hotel was not in a town, so suitable for a road trip, but not close for sight-seeing or town-visiting. Electric car charge points available; plenty of parking spaces.

Not particular - a slight inconvenient was the sockets were low on the floor while the cable of kettle was short, so we had to put the kettle on the floor - just worried a bit of making the carpet wet.

All in all, a good choice of hotel. food was excellent (both breakfast and evening meal) with a good choice. staff were friendly and welcoming, and my room in general was OK.

There are different stds of room and some of my colleagues didnt sleep too well in the twin rooms. The showers seemed to be inconsistent too, with a couple of comments about them being a bit cold. The location is fine if you're just looking for a quiet place with good food, but there isnt a lot going on in the immediate surroundings....but that's the Scottish Borders ! so cant complain about that

Carfraemill is a characterful rural hotel with great views and good parking. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the included breakfast is ample and tasty. Great value for money.

Some aspects of the fabric of the hotel are in a sorry state of disrepair. The windows of our room and bathroom need urgent repair and repainting, and the bathroom ceiling paper was peeling off in places. The hot tap on the sink is loose.

Staff were polite , cheery and helpful. Our meals, dinner and breakfast were very good. The bar area was cosy with a huge fire going and was nicely furnished.

Our room was FREEZING. When we came up from dinner we very quickly had to go to bed at 9pm where we eventually heated up while watching TV and used the heavy throw from the foot of the bed. The shower temperature was Luke warm, despite running it for a good while.

The location was very suitable for our journey. Easy to find and good amount of parking. Although close to main roads it was quiet when inside the property. Restaurant on site. Comfortable and clean.

Maybe a little dated decor and quite a small room but this didn`t stop it being a comfortable, clean accommodation. The restaurant was full and service very slow but when the food arrived it was of a good quality.

We loved the friendliness of the staff. They were superb. Food choice and quality was very good. Good value for money. The room was spotlessly clean and a welcome glass of sherry in the room was unexpected. Very nice touch

The decor in the dining area was a bit jaded but was more than made up for be friendly staff and service. The television in the room was tiny and slow to respond but not a problem for one night only

The room was very clean and comfortable with a very good ensuite. The dinner was very good and, although breakfast was slightly haphazard , cooked items were very tasty. The hotel is a lovely base for local hillwalking.

At breakfast there was no "breakfast bar" set out with choices of cereal, yogurt, fruit, juice etc but were available on request.

The situation was lovely and close to the hills for walking trips. It was very clean. The food was good and staff very helpful.

The room booked was described as a "superior twin room" . It was very small (room 4) and a bit of a disappointment. On a previous stay the " superior twin room" allocated was number 10 - a much bigger and more comfortable room. I'd like to return again but would ask, if possible, for room 10 or similar.

The room was comfortable and clean. Staff were polite, and breakfast was really good plenty of selection.

We brought a dog with us but I didn't find anything on the booking site for a charge for the dog so we had to pay £10 extra which wasn't the end of the world.

Lovely breakfast, super staff and a homely vibe, animals are allowed too. I slept so well, the bed was very comfortable, lovely linen, fluffy towels, food was good as well. Lots of parking available and nice views of the sheep in the fields. I really enjoyed my stay.

No covered area outside for people to sit under, it rained the whole time I was there and being someone who vapes, it was an issue.
