A very comfy soft bed, clean room, and the food in the bar area was great. It's a nice pub atmosphere with many locals using it. The location was great as we were going to The Great Tapestry of Scotland in Galashiels. Reported shower head to staff, and they were happy to replace it. A smart tv in the room, not used to this, but if you are,then you will love it. I'd rather be down the bar or going for a walk.

There wasn't much of a vegetarian option for meals, but my wife was able to choose something The bedroom and ensuite, no 3 needs some redecorating, but we were told that by the bar man/receptionist.

An 18th century stagecoach Inn where the owner and staff are keen to make guests welcome. The bed (in room 3) was ultra comfortable and the room was fairly plain although perfectly adequate. Friday night was obviously the meeting time for locals in the public bar which is rugby themed. Dinner was excellent and inexpensive whilst a choice of "almost anything" was offered for breakfast. Handily located just a few miles from Galashiels where if you have time you can visit the Great Scottish Tapestry! We'll certainly be back!

Arrived later than expected but we were booked in quickly, without fuss, and found the room exceeded expectations. Lovely, comfortable beds, easy to use shower. Breakfast was lovely, as a veggie, I felt v happy. We noticed other diners and all appeared to be enjoying large, varied breakfasts. Staff were informal but in a way that made us feel so welcome. As the last stop on a short break, Clovenfords made a perfect ending to our holiday.

The wonderful bed, the incredible breakfasts, the friendly and accommodating staff, the other guests... I stayed for 2 nights with my 9-year-old daughter and my mum, who uses a wheelchair. We all had a fabulous stay, and my daughter even said on the last morning that she didn't want to leave! We arrived just after 10 pm after a 6 hour car journey. We were made very welcome. The disabled access room downstairs was perfect for my mum - I couldn't find anywhere nearer the wedding we were attending at the Dryburgh Abbey Hotel. My daughter and I stayed on Room 1. It was spacious, and the bed was huge and extremely comfy! Breakfast was fabulous. Thank you to the owner, Andrew, a chef by trade. I asked what was for breakfast, and he said, "What do you want, I'll make it for you." I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I throughly recommend staying at The Clovenfords Hotel.

There seemed to be a small leak in the bathroom, and there wasn't any hot water for a bath. The slight aroma of damp plaster

The owner/manager was very accommodating, with a super calm and comfortable manner. For us, the hotels position was perfect, being close to the Newcastle ferry port. Food wise, we found it tasty, nicely cooked with a good presentation. The best things was answering e-mails in my room, and every so often going next door to the bar and getting a pint!!

Unluckily room number 6 is situated next to the main hall/entrance which meant that if you want an early night, you could get a few interuptions!!

Room was very clean, a lovely pub / restaurant. Food was fab and the staff are very friendly. Good value for money, would stay here again.

Room was alittle chilly but there was an extra portable heater in the room. Had an issue trying to get a VAT receipt / invoice following the stay which should be a standard issue on check out.

Good-sized room in pub in small village to the W of Galashiels. Clean, comfortable, good wifi. Had good dinner and breakfast in pub restaurant. Bus-stop more or less outside.

Warning: very large portions at both dinner and breakfast! I was also charged more for breakfast than the price given on Booking.com

Host welcoming. The beds very comfortable. The breakfast is 2nd to none. Brodie a very attentive host in the lounge.

The shower was blocked and the floor needed cleaning. A very old damp trap behind toilet full and had been a long time. TV didn’t work because previously someone broke the aerial and didn’t report!

very friendly helpful welcoming staff, room was excellent ,, very comfortable and spotlessly clean, well equipped . Breakfast too was served just as we I like it , overall very happy with our stay at the Clovenfords Hotel .

The fire door which was adjacent to our room. made quite a bang ,when people entered in and out of the bar ., but apart from that we soon got used to it and fell asleep quickly,as had been travelling for several hours.

The staff were absolutely top class as were the locals, from the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and comfortable. Couldn't fault anything at all. Everyone was very welcoming, and the food was tremendous. We will most definitely be back
