Our room was excellent, we found it spacious, well equipped and with plenty of hot water. The room was towards the back of the hotel, so there were no issues with regards to noise from the main street, or that travelled up from the hotel bar downstairs. Breakfast was great, there was plenty of choice with good sized portions. We had dinner in the hotel one night, and there was a good selection on the menu, as well as specials, and the portions were a good size. Our food was excellent and it wasn't too expensive. Chris and the team provide an excellent service and a warm and welcoming environment.
We couldn't fault our stay at The Crown.

We liked the location of the hotel. It was right in the centre of town. The food was nice. We had breakfast and dinner. There was a good atmosphere in the bar and the bar staff were friendly. The twin room was nicely decorated and had a powerful hot shower.
We thought the single beds were very uncomfortable. The springs were coming through the mattresses. There were no headboards on the beds, which made it a bit uncomfortable sitting up in bed. The room was very dark. It would've benefited having a lamp or light by the dressing table mirror so you can see when doing your hair and makeup. The water didn't drain very quickly in the shower.

Although a little dark with just one small window the room was quiet, at the rear of the property and away from the general hubbub of the pub downstairs. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
Breakfast food was good and very well presented, but the radio played in the background while eating was irritating and obtrusive. It detracted from my experience and I had to wear earplugs to block it out. As the last guest for breakfast one morning I asked for it to be turned off, which was done with good grace - and much appreciated. Remember that radio prattle forced on guests will be unpleasant to some, even if they don't actively complain. Since most guests were in company and had talk over it, why have it playing anyway?

2 separate overnight stays at lovely, clean hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was great. Had a lamb main meal from the specials list on the first stay. This was so good I asked for the chef to be complimented! On following stay, I had to have the lamb dinner and it was delicious 😋 will certainly stay again.
2 small niggles. I asked if there was parking and was told I should have no problem. I drove up and down the road twice but couldn't get parked. Ended up parking at distance from hotel. Duvet on bed was heavy and I was too hot to sleep well. Didn't ask if there was an alternative, maybe there was! Overall I loved my 2 stays.

Great little pub, resturant and hotel right in the centre of peebles, great location for the nearby mountain bike areas of glentree and innerleithen. Really comfortable rooms and parking on the highstreet. The parking when we arrived was super busy but after 5 it cleared and we were able to park the van directly outside the hotel. Owners were super friendly and helpful and even managed to squeeze us in the resturant even tho we hadnt booked. Will defo be back next time were in the area. Thanks

Everything! Fantastic, helpful, friendly staff, I don't think I've ever visited a more welcoming place! The room was lovely, breakfast was so good and also huge! 5 stars isn't a high enough rating for the wonderful stay this weekend! Thank you!
We didn't get enough time to try everything on the menu! I tried the fish and chips one night and the venison burger the next, both fantastic! The food I watched come out of the kitchen made decision making so difficult!

I stayed for 3 nights while working in the area and was pleasantly surprised by the Crown Hotel for the price I paid. The food & service in the restaurant were excellent and I would look forward to going back for this alone.
Not a complaint really but the bar can be 'lively' until quite late (after 11:30pm on weekdays), so depending on which room you're in an early night may not be guaranteed. Nothing you wouldn't expect from a traditional busy town centre hotel.

Great room, very comfortable bed with good facilities. I was staying here for a wedding just outside Peebles and location was great, even managed to walk back afterwards. Shower was really good, amazing pressure and soap & shampoo was nice. Good towels provided too. Heating was good and easy to control. Breakfast was amazing, would come back just for the full Scottish. Although would prefer square sausage over links but that's just me being fussy. Despite how busy and noisy it was in bar and restaurant at night, it was surprisingly quiet in my room.
It was a little expensive but it is Peebles so can't complain too much. Almost paid twice as no note that I had already paid via booking, luckily I second guessed myself and doubled checked. Staff member was nice and friendly though. No real Hotel Reception, you are just standing awkwardly at the bar entrance waiting until someone is free. We arrived on Fri so was really busy, no chance of getting a table for dinner so if you want to eat here, definitely reserve one. Food looked good though sonwould recommend booking but also lots of takeaway places near by, we went to pizza place just down the steet. Also no parking, we left car at the wedding venue and just walked back. A friend left their car near hotel and managed to not get a ticket but they were probably just lucky.

We had breakfast the morning afer our overnight there. I had mentioned to the staff before going that 2 of our group were vegetarian and 2 were vegan, and they let us know on the morning they had bought in extra stuff so that they were all able to have a full breakfast, such as veggie sausages, bacon and butter. Thee two rooms we booked were lovely, the beds were comfy and the large upstairs one had a small kitchen and living room that was great for a lsightly larger group.

Central in Peebles and adjacent to bars, restaurants and sights. Nice views and pleasant staff. I had the penthouse suite for 4 of us staying together and it was comfortable and ideal for our the purpose of our trip. The breakfasts were large, well served and the sausage, haggis and bacon was tasty! The breakfast conservatory was lovely to sit in. The staff were all really smiley, chatty and friendly and really making and added plus to this hotel. Each was willing to engage, to help and to chat. I thought the staff were really top notch!
There were some trip hazards with level changes in the penthouse, which caused people to trip at night when you forgot they were there. I would have liked an alternate breakfast option to the classic cooked breakfast, like kippers! The baked beans were very sweet and not nice. You couldn’t know what was on the breakfast juice jugs, there were no labels to say what it was. The blaring music was unwanted and disturbing.
