The staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. When we arrived we needed to grab some food and head into Edinburgh so the lady who runs the hotel recommended the Chinese takeaway and put some plates out for us in the dining room. (The takeaway was excellent, nicest tofu dish I've ever had from a takeaway.) The room was great, really big and well stocked with drinks and biscuits. Good breakfast buffet with cooked and continental options, plus top quality coffee. Biggar is a charming little town with lots of nice independent shops. I'd definitely return to Kirkstyle Hotel to explore the area more and to use as a base for going into Edinburgh.

There's no dedicated parking area but you can park on the road. Some spaces are limited to two hours, so the lady in the hotel advised us where to park.

The hotel is conveniently situated in the main street and is central to places to eat. The room and bed were comfortable. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I usually take my own pillow. Unfortunately, it fell out of the car and was dirty. A member of staff took the pillow cases and cleaned them for me. They were clean dry by the evening. However, the hotel pillows were so comfortable that I didn't need it! Breakfast was great, we had a later breakfast after celebrating new year...thank you!

Nothing to dislike.

Lovely large room and bathroom. All very clean and room facilities were good (tea and coffee and biscuits, etc.). Breakfast was lovely, and hot food was self-service and so you could have what and as much as you wanted.

Nothing, they were very helpful about finding parking and any parking restrictions seemed to end on a Friday at 6pm and start again Monday at 8am.

Very comfortable bed in a large room, dual aspect, one window overlooked the main street but there is not very much traffic during the night. The breakfast was exceptionally good, freshly cooked in the adjoining cafe, with really lovely pastries. This was one of the best breakfasts we had in the seven hotels we stayed in during our holiday. We stayed one night on a long road trip back home from Orkney, so it met our needs very well in that context. I would say this is a bed and breakfast rather than a hotel in the traditional sense of the term, as there is no bar or lounge area and no reception after 8 p.m. (there is a duty manager on call, though, and their mobile number is in all the bedrooms). The pub across the road, The Crown, offers a discount on their (very hearty) meals for Kirkstyle residents, which was a welcome bonus.

The only issue for me personally was the cramped bathroom (room 11), especially around the loo, which was right next to the heated towel rail. This is an older building where en suites have had to be fitted into existing spaces. We only saw one room, so it may well be that other rooms have different bathroom layouts. There is no car park, but it was very easy to park right outside on the road the night we stayed.

We arrived and were greeted by a member of staff who was extremely friendly and helpful. We were shown to our room, we had a dog with us and when we got to the room there was a lovely clean dog bed, dog blanket/towel and bowls plus a biscuit for him. We felt very welcome. We ordered breakfast for the next morning- that was also excellent.

Parking isn’t great but we had no issue finding a space on the road outside, there is also paid parking though.

The room was lovely - very warm welcome and the hotel was lovely and warm. Very nice touches in the room with biscuits and hot chocolate. Amazing breakfast cooked fresh and to our complete liking - lovely coffee and all round excellent. We had a brilliant stay.

It was a shame that the cleaner missed our room however, the staff quickly and smoothly put it right. It is a good reminder to speak to the hotel as they will sort out problems immediately with a smile.

The breakfast was excellent and Sarah could not have made us feel more welcome. Her hospitality was 5 star. Location was great to a wedding we were attending at Cornhill Castle. Literally 5 minutes drive away. In the high street was an italian deli and we purchased a salad box to take away with us for the trip home on the train.

The first room we were shown "superior double " the bed was too small so for an extra £10 we upgraded to a larger bed. We were in the block behind the restaurant which seemed a little more modern than the other side where our friends were staying. Our bathroom looked recently renovated.

Room was nice bed comfy. Breakfast was great. Ideal if you are attending a wedding at cornhill castle.

Our room number 1 had big dormer windows above the bed and after being at a wedding all day we couldn’t work out how to close the blinds on them when we got home. so woke very early. A note to tell us how to close them would have been good. I finally found a pole in the morning with a hook to be able to pull the blinds down but it was too late at that point😂

We booked last minute as another place we had booked turned out to be very bad. Not only did the staff accept our booking last minute, but were so welcoming and helpful. The room was beautifully furnished, spacious and spotlessly clean. There were excellent tea and coffee facilities plus a mini bar with a large bottle of water which was much appreciated on a hot day. The breakfast was also fantastic.

The place was clean and tidy, the staff were excellent, they went above and beyond. The breakfast in a morning was prepared fresh which is great, food wasn’t hanging around keeping warm somewhere, I had porridge which was a good helping and creamy.

Communication before we arrived, we were initially bringing a little dog but let the hotel months ago this wouldn’t be happening, when we arrived in the room we’re blanket, bowl and biscuits, wonderful if we had brought a dog, it would have been nice to have had a different room as we didn’t take dog. Our room was right by outside diners toilets, which meant we had to walk through dining room to get to our room, I felt sorry for the diners.
