Reception staff were very helpful in facilitating, in advance of arrival, the best accessible room for my wife who uses a wheelchair but can walk short distances. One of the most comfortable beds we have ever had. The housekeeping team were superb, full marks for cleanliness and a friendly welcome. The swimming pool and gym facilities were excellent, and included with the room, just wish I had more time to spend in the pool. Dog friendly and plenty of available free parking near the entrance with electric car charging available.

The breakfast team had a few problems getting the room service breakfast 100% right, however by the end of our 5 days things got themselves sorted out. In the dining room breakfast was an excellent buffet including either a hot buffet or a served breakfast of whatever you selected from the menu. We did not take dinner because of visiting commitments each evening, in the area, but several guests there praised the quality of food at dinner - so seems we missed out there.

The room was a good size. Nice large bath and separate double shower. Plenty of instant hot water. Coffee, tea and biscuits. The lady on reception was particularly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was absolutely lovely. Only one of everything on the hot Scottish breakfast but it was delicious and was sufficient. There was also a continental option. The pool and spa were really good as was the well equipped gym.

The TV was far too small! At breakfast there were supplements to pay for certain options which made no sense? Eggs Benedict and eggs Royal an additional £5. Why charge £5 extra for Eggs benedict? Its ham and poached egg on a muffin! They had ham on the continental table which is possibly the same as the ham on the Benedict. Nothing justifies that mark up.

Room was very clean, bathroom was lovely, staff were very nice and friendly, location was beautiful

Bed was too high, I kept slipping off the side 🙂 Breakfast was ok but the items were not replenished quickly enough for example the danish pastries were all gone when we arrived but when we left they were filling them up and on Monday there was only one Nutella left i feel this shold have been filled up enough at start of the day. Plus sunday was table service for cooked breakfasts but Monday we were sitting waiting for soemone to take our order when we noticed it was self service, we were never told this. TV remote didnt work and the volume kept dropping out.

The room we were given, the hotel in general. All staff except the girl who served us afternoon tea.

I booked afternoon tea for my birthday. after 25 minutes, I had to ask the girl where our food was, we were given our tea on arrival no checking to see if the food was ok or if we needed any more tea/ coffee. We were the only couple in having afternoon tea another couple were having food. So you think they would be aware we didn't have any food. There was also used dishes on the table behind no attempt to clear them away.Wouldn't book afternoon tea again.

Golf starter got me a tee time at very low price and very short notice on afternoon I arrived. Had a superb professional massage - best I ever had - on day I left at the Elemis Spa - excellent team in spa. Pool area very good too with opportunity to do lengths with minimum disruption depending on time of visit. Views very pleasant on the eye from the river Tweed to the nearby hills with trees plus brown and purple heather -all especially obvious when playing the Championship Golf course or walking in the Cardrona area

Room was on ground floor and there were no net curtains so during daylight hours passers-by and staff were gawking in each time they passed by our room. Had to close heavy blackout curtains for privacy when getting dressed or relaxing in room during daylight hours. Cooked food at breakfast buffet was just lukewarm both mornings we ate there - easy to sort so why not do it The bar price's were a bit steep e.g. £7.50 for a 25 ml nip of grey goose vodka. Room key (ancient style) was very difficult to operate so spent many fractious moments attempting to gain entry - get card operated system asap PLEASE

Staff were very pleasant and helpful, food was lovely. Facilities such as spa, pool and gym were good -liked the fact children could use spa facilities and were available beyond checkout times, pool was good size.

Room we were allocated was very dated with threadbare carpet, chairs, sofa bed and curtains. Was ok for 1 night, but did not match expectations as per photos on website. Similarly bathroom tiles were broken /cracked and not in adequate condition for a young family. Nice elemis toiletries were however a nice touch. WiFi availability was really poor and could be improved. Similarly TV channel selection was limited to 4 channels with intermittent interference - again could be improved. overerall value was ok for length of stay.

Excellent welcoming staff. Good choice and quality of food on offer. All staff were helpful, pleasant and welcoming. Sadly, the pool was being refurbished, so that was a bit disappointing, but just unfortunate timing on my part. My room was kindly upgraded as the staff had learned we were celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary. This was exceptionally pleasant for us. Thanks to all.

If the lift had been working, it would have helped as my husband and I have some mobility problems. The pool being refurbished was a bit disappointing, but not crucial.

The breakfast was good lots on offer but enjoyable, The rooms are great plenty of space overlooking golf coarse all in all very comfy and then dinner it was not the best staff very nice and well mannered but slow as i thought at one point the manager guy was on himself the food was ok not lots to choose from.

The food was ok and we got stuck in the lift for about ten mins and there was a wedding party in which was a bit of a pain as there guests kept coming to our quiet bit as they were all drunk from drinking from early on the staff done really well to keep them under control so hats off for that as i know the staff were trying to keep then upstairs but they need to think of the other guests as its not cheap to stay at the hotel but the kids had a good time watching them all make a fool of themself.

10/10 can’t fault this hotel and really happy I booked it when I can. From the moment I booked online I could upgrade the room with a very small and worth the cost of. Communication has been great from sending messages to book evening meals. We only stayed for one night, and the kids and dog loved the stay, it’s in the golf course (of which I should of bought with me) but you can rent out clubs and equipment. There is a great footpath going through the golf course, into some lovely pine woods and along the river which the dog loved, Highly recommend coming here.

We as a family loved our stay, maybe a little under staffed at dinner, but they explained they had a large party up-stairs which needed allot of attention.

Dinner was absolutely fantastic. My 14yo daughter tried steak for the first time and loved it. The Mac and Cheese and fish pie were both exceptional

Took a while to be served in the main bar in the evening, staff seemed very thin on the ground. Booking.com advertised breakfast until 1030 but hotel advised it only served until 1000. As a result, one of the party missed out on a cooked breakfast and staff advised it would cost £5 to provide her with bacon roll. Reception later apologised about this and offered a roll for free.
