- Great menus. Full Scottish Breakfast is outstanding. - Very friendly staff. - Very dog friendly hotel. - Beautiful surroundings, ideal for walkers and cyclists. - Immaculately clean. - Good selection of drinks at the bar. - Good choice of pubs/restaurants close by. - Bed was extremely comfortable.

- Upstairs showers are very weak, would recommend fitting power showers. - Floorboards in some of the rooms are very creaky, just need nailing down. - Only a few car park spaces. - Despite excellent and efficient restaurant staff, on busy nights you will have to wait to be seated. - Metal seats in the bedrooms not very comfy to sit on whilst watching tv. - TV bar area is a little small.

The hotel is ideally located in the very attractive small town of Innerleithen & beautiful countryside! The public areas are quite extensive are clean and have a pleasant ambience, there are also pleasant external sitting areas. The main positives of our stay were the excellent food, both breakfast & dinner & the great friendly staff ! Also the better than average selection of beers & real ales.

Very squeaky bedroom floor. Tiny en suite. Noisy corridor / doors especially during night when other guests perhaps in non en suite rooms were using toilet/bathroom facilities. Small awkward carpark.

The management and staff at the hotel, bar and restaurant gave exceptional, friendly and efficient service. Location was great in the centre of Innerleithen, for hill and local walks and access to other borders towns. Our room was comfortable and spacious with a great bath and bathroom.

Although we appreciate that the weather turned very cold later in our stay, our bedroom was always cold during the day and at night.

Wonderful bar to have dinner and drinks with friends. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and the room was very relaxing and the bed was very comfortable.

I was happy with my stay and there was nothing to fault. I had everything I needed. I happily stay again another time.

This is our type of place. A traditional pub with comfy rooms. Plenty of hubbub. Cask beers well kept. Hearty breakfast. All staff very pleasant and human. Our dog had a great time.

This is not aimed at the Traquair in particular. We accept that a dog accommodation charge has become pretty much the norm nowadays, but we would say that £10 per stay (not per day) would be sufficient?

The size of the the room was a pleasant surprise. All the staff that I encountered were obviously very happy to be working in the hotel and the interaction between staff members created a positive and friendly attitude. That included, housekeeping, bar & serving staff. The roast dinner that I had was excellent. It was also refreshing to have good wi-fi in the room. As a cyclist the location was perfect, especially with a bike shop in the car park!

Couldn't fault the helpful and knowledgeable staff. Facilities were excellent with bike storage and laundrette, so no need to worry about bike security and get the muddy clothes washed and dried for going out again. Food reasonably priced and breakfast included was excellent.

Great location in the centre of town close to everything and 5 mins from the mountain bike trails. Restaurant dry good as was breakfast. Grist, friendly staff and a nice, well stocked bar.

There is secure bike storage but it gets full. Ideally they need a 2nd storage shed to cope with weekends.

I've been visiting this place for a few years now, everyone is friendly, clean, tidy. The food is always delicious, the menu changes 4/5 times a year (every season is almost different). Even a cup of coffee and that's in a cozy place.

The floor creaks loudly.

The room was very spacious and gorgeous! And it had USB charger in the wall, which is great! The evening meal was delicious, I had steak and hubby had burrito bowl, which he said was a bit boring, but my stak was excellent!

A bit of noise from Bart which you'd expect staying in a pub.
