Very comfortable room and good food.

Nothing to dislike

Very friendly and professional team running the hotel. Adrian and Graham the owners were most welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. Comfortable bedrooms and a good bed with good pillows. Great breakfast. A well stocked bar. No complaints, and would definitely choose to stay again when in the area.

The location was beautiful and peaceful overlooking the green pastures full of sheep. It was definitely the best part of our stay. Members of staff were really friendly and helpful.

The lodges are cold and dated, carpets didn’t look particularly clean. They didn’t put in complimentary bottles of water which is something that you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The awarded star rating isn’t accurate for what the hotel has to offer, unfortunately.

Understandably, this is a small hotel with limited staff. We did feel on our arrival at reception (even after picking up the phone as the sign) we had to wait for a fair bit to check in. It was the same experience for our allotted time for dinner, booked in advance. Drinking water in the rooms would be great. These points in no way put us off returning :)

We enjoyed 3 breakfasts and 3 dinners. Food was good, portions were huge and the staff did everything possible to meet our requests. Our luggage was carried to and from our room, as my husband was injured… many thanks for that. Staff were personable and cheerful.

Breakfast had plenty of choice and well cooked. The rooms were very nice, spacious and clean. there seemed to be very few staff but they coped well with anything we asked of them.

Loose gravel surface leading to the parking areas was a problem on our motorbikes, but a member of staff allowed 3 of us to park on a small hard surface footpath area. The hotel bar closes at 10pm so if you fancy a late night drink you should go into Selkirk approx. 1½ miles away.

the food for both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant was outstanding with generous portions. The steak and ale pie and the porridge are worth an extra mention.

The location meant a car was essential for the less mobile, like my wife and myself. road closures and diversions could be troubling but we still managed to visit many neighbouring towns including two visits to places in England.

The room was amazing nice amd large very clean and tidy amazing location so quite and peaceful the staff were great

The only issue I had was the TV was to low if you wanted to sit in bed and watch TV ypy had to sit right up so couldn't relax and watch TV in bed this was the only issue we had

Nice secluded location, the bed was very comfortable and there was plenty of parking on the night we stayed there. The food was good and although we never got the chance to sit outside, it looks like the garden would be lovely during the summer months.

The shower was quite small and the temperature was either cold or boiling. It was a nice hotel however we have stayed many nicer places that cost less money.
